The last chapter and the next few including this one have already been written out, I did it like that so I could get the flow on I wanted with what is happening right now, and make sure I was happy and got t to gel together and not have parts missing. ENJOY

BACK ON LAND

Gary's home.

Mike and Gary quietly move through the house searching each room to find who they are looking for, movement in the shadows of one of the rooms catches Mike's attention, they both manger to get into the room without being heard or seen, Mike puts his finger up not only to single to Gary but to Kate and Barb to be quiet, Gary see's what he sees and they also notice that there is only 2 men in this room, the quickly and quietly take them out, with choke holds to their necks, they tie them up, gag them and then remove their weapons from them, they move and untie the lady's. Who hug them both for dear life. Nothing is said as they try and make their way out. Mike passes Kate the weapon he has taken off the person he tied up. Barb just follows, while Gary carries the spare one.

As they start to leave shots ring out within the house and they return fire while trying to also get cover.

"Who the hell is after you Gary." Mike asks him he knows it's not the SAS doing this, that it has to be someone with a bone to pick against Gary.

"I'm suspecting the same arsehole who burnt your house down and blew up your boat." Comes back from him, right now he thinks that could be the only person who would know about this place. "Not many know about this place, he is one and he hasn't been happy since you two came back in my circle."

"I think it's best if we split up and get out of here, if we stay together we are a bigger and easier target." Mike says Kate knows why he wants to get separated from Gary, but Gary doesn't.

"Not so fast you lot. So lovely to see you again Mike, Kate." Comes the voice of who Gary suspects was behind everything just now. He points his gun towards the group

"You do realise mate you have two highly trained marksmen with guns aimed right at you and I'm not talking about me either." Comes from Gary he knows very well how good a marksman both Mike and Kate are, and how deadly accurate their shots are.

"They also know you're the one that burnt down their home and blew up their boat, they will want revenge mate." He says back to him, letting Kate know who was behind the house fire and the bombing of their boat.

"They're fake Gary, they work for the government, they're the moles in your operation." he says back to him. Gary laughs at this.

"They're not the moles, you dumb arse. They've only just come back on board, they've been serving their time for their crimes."

"Serving time my arse, didn't you get the photos I sent of them working for the government, the Navy of all places, it understands how they know the sea so well."

"Yes I did and I spoke to them about it. You should learn to do your homework better. I'm not stupid, I do my research. Now we are going to walk out of here whether you like it or not."

"No you're not, none of you are leaving this place alive." He says as he goes to take a shot his aim is towards Kate, Mike fires and hits him square in the middle of his head, killing him straight away. He turns and sees Kate on the floor holding her arm.

"Honey?" he asks her as he watches her trying not to scream out in pain, "Are there more out there?" He asks, knowing that it can't be just those 3 there has to be more and she nods her to say yes. He rips some material from the nearby cloth that is on a side table and uses it to help apply pressure to her wound, and as he ties it tight to her arm she hissy out in pain. He sees the tears in her eyes due to the pain and the fear that they may not get out of this alive. Gary watches on and see's the fear and worry written all over Mike's face when he notices that Kate was down and injured.

"Forgot how much it hurts to be shot." She says once she has gotten herself back upright.

"We need to get moving, god knows what the hell is going on right now." Mike say's in general to all of them. They hear unfamiliar sounds all around them.

As the four move through and leave another person approaches them, this person trys to stop them, by asking them to give up and get on the floor but as Mike only sees one of them he can't be 100% that he is with the good side or the bad so he fires and wounds them in the leg he goes down like a sack of potatoes and they take the chance to get out and hide. Mike knows where he shot him, it won't kill him but he knows he will be in a shit load of pain and unable to go after them. He will be screaming and moving around the floor like a baby.

They finally make it to some cover, outside in the bush. Kate is not feeling well.

"I don't feel good." Kate says to Mike and he can see from the dim light coming from the house that she is very pale, as he touches her wounded arm he can feel the soaking wet bandage that he applied hasn't worked at all.

The SAS has met up with the Hammersley crew, the wounded follow the track down. Dutchy gets in touch with hammersley and asks for more backup, as the XO works with the SAS team with what they are about to do. They go after their target, little does the team from Hammersley know that the SAS are after Mike, Kate, Gary and anyone else involved. Jim thinks Mike and Kate are involved.

They slowly come up towards the home, they find a couple of dead people on the ground. This to Dutchy says there is more at play than what they all know of.

Mike, Kate, Gary and Barb are all hiding, staying as quiet as they can. They hear footsteps around them, the sounds of whispers but unable to make out who is talking and what about.

Then there is gunfire blasting around the property. Bullets are firing everywhere, this goes on for what feels like hours but is really only for a few minutes then it goes quiet, deadly quiet.

"Lay down hands behind your back, and do no think about doing anything stupid your surrounded." They all lay down, but Mike hears a groan from Kate. and his body takes over, he moves towards her without thinking.

"Kate honey you ok?" he says, as he places his hand on her.

"I said get down on the ground, hands behind your back I won't say it again" Mike turns and faces the people behind him.

"My wife's bloody injured I need to check her out." he says, to the group, unknown to Mike is that Jim has heard this. He knew back months ago he was avoiding Kate after the explosion, but he never expected the email that she was dumping him, and just how fast she has moved on with Mike. It pisses him right off.

"My men will check her."

"No they bloody will not, no one touches her, I will do it." he says as he moves to Kate and looks at her, noticing there is more blood, that she has another bloody bullet wound. Mike is able to figure out what clothing is being worn by those surrounding him.

"Fuck." is all that comes out of his mouth when he see's where she has been hit he takes his shirt off and applies as much pressure as he can, Kate groans out in pain. As he does this he looks quickly towards Gary and Barb, and he notices Gary isn't moving.

"Check on him." Mike demands, he knows these are Army now who are in front of him, noticing Gary doesn't look well at all, then Barb screams out when she hears Gary gasp and then it sounds like he has stopped breathing.

The guys just stand there watching what is unfolding, not caring at all in the world that they are letting a person die, and another one who is injured lay there without much help. For them it seems like Karma for all the shit they have caused to many innocent lives.

"Jim what the hell is going on here?" Dutchy asks as they get to him and see people laying down. And he is sure one of the forms is Mike kneeling beside another body. Mike recognizes the voice.

"Dutchy, get Swain Kate's been shot, but check on Gary first. Comes from Mike straight away. The Hammersley crew push past and get straight to work. Ignoring the protests from those around them. Lucky Swain was with Dutchy when they found Jim. Swain goes to Gary, Mike goes through Swain's kit to get some bandages for Kate. Swain and Dutchy know who Gary is and what is going on, they know having him dead is better, but saving his life will make it look better in Gary's eyes. Barb watches on, as people go to work on her husband, the love of her life, every so often she looks over towards Mike and Kate, she can see the worry on Mike's face, and the pain on Kate's.

"Hey honey, stay with me ok." Mike says to Kate as he deals with her wounds, she looks at him, she knows she is badly hurt, she is in so much pain, and Mike can see just how worried she is.

"Love you forever." She says to him tears running down her face. He leans down and places a gentle kiss on her lips, not caring who sees him doing it. Jim hears her say this to Mike. But Jim still thinks Mike is on Gary's side.

"Love you too, beautiful." he says as he gives her another kiss. Their open display of affection pissing Jim off.

"Not beautiful right now." She manages to get out. Her eyes starting to close shut on her.

"Always beautiful. Hey stay with me honey." he says as he lightly taps her face.

"It hurts Mike."

"I know it hurts baby but you got to stay awake remember."

"I don't think I can."

"You must, okay. I can't have you baling on our plans to have a family." Mike says he knows what Kate is really meaning by I don't think I can, but he isn't ready to have her give up yet. She smiles at him saying this to her, reminding her of the bigger picture that they have, the future they both want. As he moves he finds some more blood and another wound, one he didn't see before.

"We need some more light here please." He says in general hoping someone other than his old crew will provide help. He deals with it the best he can and as he is dealing with it Swain takes a quick look over what Mike has done, he knows she is in good hands with Mike, knowing Mike has once before been a second medic and can handle these things

"Right we need to get the injured back to Hammersley ASAP." Comes from Swain. X can you let the CO know we are bringing back several wounded, 3 are seriously wounded, and one of those is touch and go." Swain says to the new XO of Hammersley and gets straight on to it. The new XO knowing what other information needs to be said to the CO.

"Sir, I'll carry Kate." Dutchy says to Mike, but the look from Mike tells him no that he will do it.

"Mike you're injured too, let me carry her, you'll do more harm to her if you collapse while carrying her." He says again having noticed when Mike picked Kate up that he is also injured, and hadn't noticed nor felt the injury.

The group starts to make tracks back towards the awaiting RHIB. Swain is doing his best to keep Gary alive, but he feels he is fighting a losing battle, but he knows he has to try. He is worried about Kate as well, as before they moved off he checked her over, he's bandaged up Mike's wounds, and is shocked that the other lady who Mike has called Barb has no wounds on her at all. He wasn't happy to see how the group was being treated at all, by Jim and the fellow Army guys. Regardless of everything that was happening he still didn't believe it, if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes there would be no way in hell he would've believed what was being said to him.

Suddenly there is more gun fire. Coming from the trees behind them and above them.

"Swain, Dutchy get the injured to the RHIB, we will stay back here." Mike says without even thinking about himself or his injury. It is then that Mike notices Jim is still with them, he thought he would of stayed behind, Mike doesn't fully notice the look from Jim, as he is too busy trying to figure out where the shots came from, while firing shots back in return, they slowly follow the ones ahead of them, making sure there aren't any more problems.

When suddenly there is a loud explosion, people are sent flying, the second RHIB is back at the beach now, to help carry the injured and get them back to Hammersley. Swain takes the most seriously injured in his RHIB and high tails it back to Hammersley.

"Dutchy I'm fine, go help the others." Mike says as he drags an injured person towards the RHIB. He knows it is a Hammersley crew member just by what he has ahold of in his hands, he also knows he is injured but right now he knows there are far more seriously injured people out there, As they moving people down to the RHIB, Hammersley let's fire with its TYPHOON into the treetops, not far above them, once they noticed no one is near the tree line, Nick hopes like hell no one from his team was in the tree line, but he knew if he waited any longer there will be dead people to deal with. Dead people he may have to leave behind for the safety of others.
