At the week scan, they would find out whether Fenisha would have a boy or a girl. Working 12-hour shifts was extremely tiring though- when she wasn't working, she was either sleeping or resting. Jan was reducing her hours from today, so hopefully she wouldn't be as tired.

When they walked into the ultrasound together, Fenisha laid down on the bed as the midwife did the usual putting the gel on- which was still freezing cold.

"Would you like to see your baby?" She asked.

They both nodded.

"And would you like to know the gender?"

"Well I'm a Doctor in the ED, so I kind of already know what I'm looking for... but you're the expert, and yes we would like to know." Will said.

The midwife studied the black-and-white image closely, before showing them the screen. The image was much clearer than it had been in the first scan, and Will grinned- he instantly knew what gender the baby was.

"Well, it looks like you'll be having a little girl!" They were told.

Will and Fenisha grinned at each other.

When they got back home

(they both had a day off again) they started to make plans. The baby was going to have one of the spare bedrooms- it was a three bedroom flat, so there was plenty of space.

They made a long list of things they needed, and where to get them from.

First of all, they needed to repaint the baby's room. They spent some time shopping- and at least half an hour was spent finding the perfect shade to paint the walls. In the end, they chose a pale pink colour- despite Fenisha being adamant that her child wouldn't grow up surrounded by pink.

Fenisha also bought maternity things, while Will did that week's food shopping.

They also bought a new carpet for the baby's room, which was a soft grey, with white stars on it.

When they got home, they painted the room and then put the new carpet down.

Will had also bought some packs of glow-in-the-dark stars, which he put all over the ceiling, so it looked like the night sky when it was dark.

They spent the next two hours looking for things online- including cots, baby mobiles, Moses baskets, and prams. They agreed not to buy anything until she was about 30 weeks gone- they didn't want to get too ahead of themselves.

That evening, they sat on the sofa with the kittens (who had grown quite a bit since they had been bought) and discussed baby names.

"What do you like then?" Fenisha asked Will.

"I don't know... I know you like travelling, so maybe we could name her after a city or a place, or we could just look through lists for hours and find some nice names?"

"Good idea. I don't think we should name her anything for certain until we see her though."

Will agreed with her.

After spending about two hours scrolling through lists after lists, they had compiled a list of their favourites.

(Lol sorry in advance for this list which is probably very boring- I was kind of bored)

At half an hour past midnight, after losing track of time and falling asleep twice, they decided to go to bed. They wanted to ask Ethan for ideas and what he would choose- it was his after all.

When Will walked into the staff room the next day, he couldn't stop yawning. Which was strange, considering he never went to bed before midnight usually. He guessed it was just an onset of stress about the prospect of raising a child.

"You look tired," Ethan commented as he yawned again.

"Oh, Ethan, what do you think about baby names?" He asked, showing him the list. "I know none of them are particularly 'Ethan-y' but we're bound to discard some and realise we like other ones in the next 20 weeks."

"They're nice, I like them."

Will raised one eyebrow.

"Didn't really think Avis or Atlanta was your style..."

Ethan sighed. "Honestly, I think she'll be more like Fenisha than me."

"Still, you deserve a say. Why don't you text me some that you like, yeah?" Will said as he left to start his shift.

Please tell me what names you think they would choose- I didn't really know so I just found a whole load of names off the internet!
