Welcome Back

~Lilly's POV~

"Are you going to eat?" My roommate asked me. "Dinner is ready and then we're all gonna watch a movie."

"I'll be right there, just give me a sec." I mumbled, bringing my knees closer to my chest, knowing if I didn't say yes, they would come look for me.

This is how I was all day. The people here are really nice, the caregivers are very thoughtful when it came to me not talking to anyone. I felt like they all thought I was delusional whenever I would say that I wasn't going to be there for very long, but that is the only thing that keeps me going...that one thought.

My mother came by yesterday to reassure me that all of this was going to be over real give and to give me some money just in case I needed it. She didn't come today and I had a feeling it was because she had to go to court. I still missed her.

All I could think about was home. That's all I wanted was to be home. This was the first time in a long time that I've felt this emotion. Every time I thought about home my eyes would fill with tears. I'm so tired of crying...

I took a few deep breaths before finally finding the courage to stand up from my bed.

This building was huge. Each room had bedroom could fit two beds and closet. There was about four or five people my age staying here, four girls and a guy. There were three grown ups, two men and one woman, although the woman comes and goes. Everyone was super nice, so nice that if it wasn't for the fact that I actually liked being home now, I'd probably be okay with staying here. Temporarily of course.

Before I exited my room, I heard a commotion going on downstairs in the living room. Two men sounded like they were arguing. One sounded a little irritated and the other sounded like one of the caregiver. I almost didn't want to come down. Until I inched closer and finally heard what they were arguing about.

"Sir, it's past visiting hours. I'm gonna have to ask that you leave. I don't want you disturbing-"

"You can ask me to leave, but I'm not leaving without my daughter."

My eye widen for a sec. That voice almost sounded exactly like Ian's voice but...why would he call me his daughter?

"From what I know your family is under investigation-"

"How am I under investigation when I just got to America? I've been so busy, I didn't even have time to change. I have the commissioner right here, if he says I can take my daughter than I can. Tell him."

I walked down the stairs and locked eyes with a tall, tan man in a military uniform. My heart literally dropped into my stomach when I saw that mischievous smile he always had. It really was Ian... Ian was here...

I let out some weird sob/whimpering noise before running over and jumping on him. When he wrapped his arms around me, I couldn't help but cry out loud. He was actually real, this wasn't a mirage. He's here! Ian is here!

I felt his hand caress my head, "I'm home, babe." He said before kissing my cheek. "Everything is going to be alright now."

I pulled away from him, a literal stream of tears falling from my eyes. My hands touched his face, his hair, his shoulders...just to make sure that he was actually standing right in front of me. "You're here?"

He chuckled, wiping my tears away. "I am. And we're going home."

"Really?"

He nodded, his expression suddenly turning angry. "I've flown 12 or so hours just to get to see my little rag doll and I'm going to take her." I knew he wasn't talking to me until he gave my bag a pat. "Go pack your bags, I'll deal with these guys."

"Are you kidding, they were never unpacked." I chuckled, turning to go run up the stairs and back to my room.

I gathered all my bags and ran back downstairs where Ian was waiting for me while some blonde-headed, Chris Evans looking dude was chatting with both caregivers. I didn't say bye to anyone, I just grabbed onto Ian's hand and followed him right outside. When we got to the car, my mother got out of the passenger side. Ian took my bags while my mother and I embraced.

"Hi my baby..." She mumbled giving my head a kiss. "Are you okay?"

I nodded, "I am now. How'd you get me out?"

She sighed, "Just get in the car, we're going to drop you off at home. There's still a lot of stuff we have to take care of."

I felt someone tap my shoulder, I turned around and blinked when I saw April standing there. "April?"

She opened her arms and grabbed a hold of me, "I'm glad to see you're okay."

I chuckled, pulling away from her hug, "I am now that everyone's here."

"Lilly, April, I suggest you two get in the car." Ian said sternly. "I think Barry is done talking, which means it's off to the police station."

"Why?"

Ian shook his head, "Don't worry. Get in the car." He order.

April and I nodded and did as he said, both of us scooting in the back seat of this nice sleek black car. We watched as both my mom and Ian walked back over to the house. "What's at the police station?"

April sighed, "It's a long story." She gave me another hug. "I'm just glad you're okay."

I frowned, why didn't anyone want to tell me what the heck was down at the police station? "April..."

After giving into my serious glare, April finally rolled her eyes. "John was the one who made the call and Barry was able to get him down at the station. He was also able to get enough evidence to prove that everything was a lie and get you out of here. So that's what he's probably doing right now is-"

"Barry... As in my mother's sorta-kinda-boyfriend?" He did this for me?

"Yeah...He's actually really nice and genuinely care about you and your mom."

"Me? He doesn't even know me."

"That's what Ian said. Who, by the way, is really hot in person than through a webcam."

I made a gagging sound, "Shut up, that's like my brother."

"So? He's not my brother."

I gave her a playful push. Ian was an attractive looking dude, but he raised me so I really never noticed. That's gross...

Speaking of, Ian suddenly opened the side door and slid right next to me. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders, reaching over to pat April's head. "We're going now. Everything is okay."

I leaned into him, noticing something shiny on his hand. I picked it up and gasped when I noticed a ring, "Are you married?"

He looked down at his hand and smiled, "If I said I was would you be mad?"

"Yes! Who is she?"

He promptly took off the ring and handed it to me, "Relax, this is yours." He said handing me the ring. "If you think I'm going to marry someone without her meeting you, you're dumb." He shrugged. "Where I was wasn't really a place to mingle."

I slid the ring on each finger before deciding it fit better on my middle finger. "Is it real gold?"

He nodded, "I'll tell you the story behind that little band when all of this is over."

My mother and her boyfriend...both entered the car.

"Where to now, Ian?" Barry asked before pulling off.

"We're dropping off Lillian and then April and then we'll take care of whatever we gotta take care of." Ian ordered.

"Why can't i go with you? If John had something to do with this, I have stuff I need to tell him too."

Ian blinked before rolling his eyes, "You look a mess. What you need to do is go home, get some rest and relax."

"Ian..."

He grunted, "Oye, don't use that tone with me young lady. You're going to do as I say."

"But I wanna-"

"You have something to say to him, you tell me and I'll pass on the message. Where he is, is not somewhere where you guys should be."

"Fine!" I said, crossing my arms over my chest and pouting like a child. "Can you at least punch him a little."

Ian smiled, kissing my temple. "I'll try."

We drove in silence all the way to my house. I finally felt complete. I finally felt at piece. John was out of the house, Ian was home and John is terrified of Ian, and I had Raph to- my eyes suddenly widened. Raph! I wanted to see him again. He's my stress reliever. "April, can you call the guys? Code Red." I told her.

"Guys? Code red? What's code red?" Ian asked before leaning in. "Are you on your period?"

I narrowed my eyes in confusion, "What? No... No, don't worry about it."

Ian gave me a suspicious glare, but I knew that he'd eventually find out. I can't keep anything from Ian, he's like a freaking cop, always investigating. After a while he relaxed.

"Alright," Ian said pulling up to my home. "Go straight to bed, young lady." He ordered. "I wanna go sight seeing tomorrow." He opened the car door, exiting so I could go right after him.

"Don't get into trouble please. You just came back." I said before hugging him as tight as I could.

"I'm not going anywhere," Ian chuckled. "Now go in the house, go to bed, go to sleep. If I come back, and I find you awake, or out of the house, you're grounded."

Grounded!? Rules!? Is he going to start bossing me around like he's my fucking father. "Okay." I said with a smile.

Ian smiled, kissing my forehead. "I'll be back, babe." He jumped back into the car, just before they drove off he yelled. "In bed! Right now!"

I rolled my eyes, "Fine!" I was hiding my fear behind the happiness. I had all these fucking questions in my head, pounding, begging to be answered. And as I walked up the stepped, picked out the sore key from underneath the, almost taunting, welcome mat, I felt like none of them would ever be answered. Hopefully, I was wrong. Whatever they're going to do at the police station, I hope they give John hell...
