So I figured out that if Ethan and Fenisha slept together in February, the baby would be due late November/ December. So I'm guessing she might take maternity leave at 35/36 weeks (that's a guess though) so that would be in October (ish). So, this chapter will be at 36 weeks, starting from the day after she takes maternity leave!

31st October 2020

It was four weeks before her due date. Unsurprisingly, they hadn't had a chance to go shopping for any baby things, as there hadn't been a time when Will and Fenisha had both had time.

They went to the big shopping centre in Holby, where Will grabbed a trolley to put everything in. They'd decided to do some of the shopping online, to make things easier, but they wanted to go into the shop to have a look.

Fenisha had made a long list of things they needed to get. First they went to look at the Moses baskets. Will had already ordered a cot to come, but they didn't want to have to put her in it all the time. They chose one quite quickly- a plain wicker basket with a cream lining. They were going to order a buggy and a car seat online, so they skipped past those.

Then they had to get some blankets and a waterproof mattress for the cot, along with a baby monitor, some baby medicine, towels and so much more!

After at least an hour of shopping, they decided to have a break and sit in a café for a while. It was going to be a cold winter- it was only 9 degrees Celsius today. Will had a coffee and Fenisha had tea; both were glad of the warm beverages.

When they were finished, they got up and headed back into the shop, where they spotted Robyn and Charlotte. Robyn sported them and waved excitedly, coming over to talk to them. She gave them both massive hugs and introduced Charlotte to them.

"Blimey Robyn, by your reaction people would have guessed I hadn't seen you in months, rather than 18 hours ago at work," Will joked.

Robyn ignored Will, and turned to Fenisha. "You look great- you're literally glowing!"

"Thanks. I'm tired though,"

"I bet you are. At least you're on maternity leave now,"

She nodded. "I do know what I'm going to do for the next 4 weeks though."

"I'm sure it'll go quickly!" Robyn said. "Anyway, we'd better be off, Charlotte wanted to go and look at the Halloween things. She wants to dress up as a witch," Charlotte nodded and smiled.

"Oh of course, it's Halloween today, isn't it! Well we'll let you get on- bye!" Will said, remembering the date.

"Bye Robyn, bye Charlotte!"

"Come on, we've got stuff to do as well," Will said. "How about we look at the baby clothes now? I know you're dying to look at them."

She grinned. "What?"

Will smirked. "I don't think anyone really ever saw you as the maternal type. Pregnancy has changed you!"

She playfully whacked him on the arm. "I've never seen you so willing to spend money," she commented.

When they reached the baby clothes section there were tiny clothes lined up everywhere. As it was already cold, and most people were wrapped up in hats and gloves already, they would need to buy coats, extra socks and hats as well.

They spent about half an hour wandering up and down those aisles, and in the end they had bought several pairs of baby onesies, some baby sleepers, jackets and everything else that was on their list.

Once they had bought everything, they went back home and started to organise everything. They'd had a massive clear out a couple of weeks ago, to make space for everything.

Pirate and Tiger, who were now more like cats than kittens, watched their owners from the window sill. Both cats had decided that their favourite place to sit was on top of the bookshelf, and would sleep there for virtually the whole day, although they still loved to play with each other as well.

After they had lunch, the cot, pram and car seat had arrived, so they started to get everything ready in their baby's room. There was already a chest of drawers, where they put the baby clothes in, but they needed to get a table which they could change their little girl's nappy on.

Some of the other things went into the cupboard, to make space. It was a built-in cupboard, and was quite small, so some things had to be piled up.

Next, they worked out how to put the cot together. It was relatively simple, but they wanted to make sure it was all perfect. Suddenly, Fenisha stopped.

"What is it? Are you ok?" Will asked.

She nodded.

"She's kicking," Fenisha whispered. She'd felt the baby kick before, but as they were in her room, getting everything ready, it felt so special. She put Will's hand on her bump, and watched his face light up as he felt her kick. "Looks like we've got a little football player in here," he commented.

It was late in the afternoon when they had finally finished putting everything away.

"You're going to need to get a bag ready for when you go into labour," Will said.

"I'll do that tomorrow- it'll give me something to do," she said. "I can't believe that I have to wait a whole four weeks for this one to come out,"

"She might be early,"

"She might be late,"

"Well you could always take up a hobby," Will suggested.

"Like?"

Will shrugged. "I dunno... painting?" She shook her head. "As if,"

"You told me you did Art GCSE," Will said.

"Did I?"

He nodded.

"I haven't done it for years though,"

"What did you get in it?" He asked, now curious.

"An A,"

Will raised one eyebrow.

"Go on, I'm sure you're great at it. Why don't you paint a picture of one of your travels or something?"

She sighed, sensing that this was one of those things that he was going to be annoyingly stubborn on. "Ok fine."

Will grinned and kissed her lightly on the lips.

Ok so in the next chapter she will finally go into labour!
