Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia. I'm just a guy who's a writer for fun.

Bit of an early update. I get the feeling I should make up for the long hiatus, but at the same time the creative juices are just circulating.

Two birds, one stone.

Move Forward And Take Flight Part 7

"All right, you can do this." Toshinori was shaking in front of the door. He wasn't much pf a party animal, but he just didn't want to reject his good friend, David Shield's invitation. After the countless times he invited him to his parties. All rejected because he was busy with hero work. Even the Christmas Party because of the so called "Grinch incident". He finally figured that he would at least make it to the New Years party, yet still wanted to stay alert in case of a villain attack. Although what villain would do something on New Year's eve? Probably the same that caused the Grinch incident. Although that was just a child that discovered his quirk and decided to steal other kids' presents, he hoped New Year's Eve was different "Let's get this over with. And go easy on the alcohol Toshi." He rang the doorbell. A few seconds passed and someone opened it.

"Toshiiii!" David Shield was leaning on the door with a beer in hand. His face had gone completely red from the booze. "I was almost convinced you were gonna ditch us and go save some chicks from a villain attack, you know what I mean? Haha."

"Good to see you too Dave. I hope I'm not too late" Toshi replied formally.

"Eeyyy, buddy." He hugged him around the shoulder leaning on him for balance. "No need to be so formal my Rising Sun Amigo. You got here. And that's what really matters. Come on, I'll introduce you to the gang."

Toshi awkwardly followed him sweatdropping "Geez, what am I getting myself into."

"Heyooo, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, heroes and heroines!" Dave caught everyone's attention with the microphone on the mini stage he set up in his apartment for Kareoke. "It is my distinct privilege. No, Honor! To introduce you to one of the greatest heroes I've ever met in my ENTIRE life. He hails all the way from the Land of the Rising Sun! His quirk, inconceivably powerful! No mortal man can stand up to this guy in a fist fight! Believe me, I tried. Hahahaha!"

"Geez, Dave I think you went a bit overboard" All Might was standing awkwardly in the audience absorbing all the dagger like glares he was receiving. He was the only Japanese person in the crowd so he stood out like a sore thumb.

"Anyway, I could go on and on about this guy. He saved my life. Multiple times in fact! But that shouldn't come as a surprise now should it. After all that's what all you marvelous heroes in the crowd do on a daily basis. Am I right, or am I right, guys?" He grabbed his forehead in a dramatic fashion." And I'm so goddamn grateful for it! Without you guys, we'd probably be dead right now. Or worse. Fallen into despair Hahaha! Oh god... So anyway let me introduce you all to the man himself. I want you all to give a big warm welcome toooooo... Drumroll please." There was no drum roll, but Dave went with it regardless "Toshinori Yaaagiiiiiiii!!!" A small applause followed as All Might went up to the stage.

"H-hello everyone." All Might grabbed the microphone and humbly introduced himself "It's a pleasure to meet you all. I am Toshino-"

"Aww, man isn't this guy something." Dave stole the microphone back "Heroic and humble. Not like any of you chumps can ever hold a candle to this guy!"

"Dave!" Toshinori urged him to shut up. The glares had intensified.

"But enough about this guy! He's already hogging too much of the spotlight already. Hahaha."

"Yeah, no thanks to you.", "How much did you have to drink, Dave? It's only 9 o'clock" All Might finally asked, causing the audience to giggle, breaking the tension a bit.

"Not much, how much did you have to drink?"

"Nothing yet."

"Well that's the problem my dude. You're too tense." Dave slapped him on the back "Come on let me introduce you. You see those geeks over there." He pointed to a group of people who were sitting quietly on the chairs in the kitchen. "Those are Mike, Harvey, Isabella, Stanley and Riley. They're with me in the support group. They don't look like much, but they sure are geniuses when it comes to support items."

"I see. Good to meet you all." The support group spared a glance to him then returned to they're ongoing conversation.

"They're a bit shy around strangers, don't mind them." Dave comforted him then showed him to the next group standing by the drinks in the kitchen counter. "Oh those three. They're the famous Deadlock trio."

"Barney, the skinny dude. He's a speedster who rushes in battle and can really catch you off guard.

"Ellias, or L as they call him. He's the sneeky one. You see that ninja suit he is wearing? It comes with a cloaking device that my team made. Guy's a real modern ninja."

"Really? A ninja?" Toshi surprisingly asked

"You betcha. And the big guy. Duke. He's their Tank. Guys like a wall you can't break. I heard he once took 5 artillery shells to the chest, then walked it off like it was nothing."

"Really!?"

"I don't know. Just rumors. His quirk is amazing though."

"I see. It's an honour to meet you all.

I'm Toshinori." The trio gave him a challenging look making him freeze in his place. After an awkward minute they pulled away and returned to their conversation.

"They're a bit anti-social, don't take it personally, Toshi." Dave leaned on him with a drunk smile "Anyway, come over here. I'm gonna show you the real main attraction, if you know what I mean."

"No, I don't know what you mean."

"Come ooon. Don't be so tense Toshi! You ain't vibin, enough. Are you vibin'? Cuz I'm definitely vibin' with this next group. If yah know what I mean." Dave dragged him over to the living room where six young women were sitting on the couches.

"Ladies, I would like you all to meet All Might. A.K.A. Toshinori Yagi, hailing from Japan and one of my best friends. Toshi I'd like you to meet the Seven American Valkyries, or just the American Valkyries, the Seven Valkyries, the Rainow Seven, Team SAV, The Savage Seven, they go by many names."

"Wait seven? But there's only-"

"From right to left we have..." Dave interrupted him again.

"Ashley Thime!" He pointed to the woman in the orange tank top and blue jeans. She had brown hair tied in a pony tail. She spared Dave a cold glare then returned to reading her magazine. "She's a bit cold on the outside, but god damn, that girl is the bravest damsel in distress I've ever met."

"Call me that again, Dave, and you'll be looking for your tongue in the sewers of New York." Ashley coldly replied to him.

"Come on Ashley, don't be so cold to our new guest." The girl in the light green dress next to her kindly asked. "He might get the wrong idea about us."

"Bonnie, I'm not cold towards our new guest. I'm cold towards this drunk retard!" She pointed towards Dave with her thumb, not even sparing him a glance.

"Don't mind her, she's actually a pretty nice person, once you get to know her." Bonnie said smiling.

"Whatever" Ashley dismissively returned to her magazine.

"Ahh. Bonnie Francis. She's a sweet little peach, but don't let appearances deceive you. She is really terrifying in the battlefield. Towards her enemies and sometimes towards her friends. She's kinda the heart of the team. You know what ai mean?" Toshi looked at her confused. Her hair was brown, curly and tied in two pig tails. She wore big round glasses and had a smile anyone could die for.

"It's a real pleasure to meet you Mr. Yagi." Bonnie greeted him with a heartwarming smile

"Same and please, call me Toshi." All Might blushingly scratched his head

"Okay Toshi! Tee-Hee."

"Careful with this one, Bonnie." The girl, with long blonde hair that had two locks on the side of her face, next to her warned her. She was wearing a thick yellow Hoodie.

"Francesca's right." The girl next to her with light brown shoulder length hair and a tight dark blue T-shirt continued. "You can never know someone's true intentions at face value, let alone first impressions."

"Oh my, Sisters Francesca and Michaela Thorne. They don't trust easy. Rough childhood, you get what I mean, right? Very cautious. But damn irreplaceable. And super hao-authentic. Yeah that's what I was gonna say."

"No you weren't." A girl with dark brown hair and glasses wearing a Dark Purple Tank top corrected him. "You corrected your word mid-sentence so you could sound more decent and less like a drunk lowlife." She said matter of factly.

"That's definitely Dave for you." Michaela sighed confirming her statement.

"Nothing gets by you, does it? Toshi, meat Natalie Graham. She's the brains of the group. She can read you like a book that one. It's her hobby. I mean reading books not people. You get what I mean?"

"Dave, I'm honestly surprised they didn't make a drinking game where, each time you say, "you get what I mean" everyone takes a shot."

"Oh snap! Good one, new guy." Ashley giggled

"How do you think I got drunk im the first place Toshi?" David started laughing his ass off.

"I don't wanna know." Toshi sweat-dropoed More laughter was heard but this time it was from the girl in the back with long honey blonde hair decorated with light blue ribbons, that was wearing a black top.

"Oh, and hear we have the real cream of the crop. The beauty among the beasts. The angel sent from heaven above."

"Oh, stop it Dave." The blonde girl blushed, while still laughing.

"I can't help it. You're too pure for this world. Toshi, meat the real sweetheart of the group. No offense Bonnie."

"Non taken. I can be really cruel if I wanted too." She said with a bright smile that made her statement really unsettling

"Scary!" Toshi shivered.

"As, I was saying. Toshi, meat Sari Antaya. Hailing all the way from France. The land of sweet love and cheap croissants. This little angel is just one of the greatest human beings to have ever graced this earth. I wouldn't be surprised if the angels themselves made her from the pure white light of the divine rivers! She's just that awesome!" Dave shed a few tears, while Sari was just hiding her smile with her hair.

"The only reason you like her, David, is because she's the only one patient enough to put up with your shit for a prolonged period of time." Ashley laid the cards on the table.

"I can't argue with that concrete logic. You're on fire today Ashley!"

"Just don't get too close. Or it will burn you." She said not even sparing him a glance.

"Spiceeey." Dave said in a sleazy tone.

"Uhm, pardon me." All their eyes turned to Toshi. "You said there were seven of you, but I'm only counting six... Where is..." Before he could finish the ground started to shake violently. "Woah and earthquake!?"

"Nah, more of an apartment-quake. You'll get what I mean in a second" David said.

"Here we go again." Ashley lay down her magazine and put on a sleeping mask she conveniently had in her back pocket. The others from the Valkyiries did the same.

"That's just what she's like?" Michaela said Ironically placing her mask on her eyes

"Annoying and loud? Definitely." Francesca said putting on her mask as well

"What's going on here? Why the sleeping masks?" Suddenly the ground stopped shaking and a bunch of confetti launchers showed up out of hiding across the room, simultaneously firing large amounts of sparking confetti throughout the room.

"What the hell?" Toshi wondered, before a figure in a hero costume and cape jumped on the window frame from the outside! Before he could get a good look at the figure. It started shining a bright blinding light.

"I AM HERE!!!!!" The figure screamed intensifying the light. The shinny confetti reflecting it to every corner of the room, so you couldn't open your eyes even if you looked away.

"So bright!" Toshi placed his hand over his eyes, to shield himself from the light.

"Have no fear, newcomer, for I STARSHINE, will save you from this boring party!"

"Well that's just rude." David commented with his left hand covering his eyes. His right hand reached for a bottle of something and blindly took a sip. He reflexively spat out the liquid as soon as it touched his tongue. "What the hell is this stuff?"

"By your reaction, I would say that it's the vinegar Bonnie left on the table." Michaela giggled.

"WHY VINEGAR!!?" Dave screamed out. "Were you making salads here or something!?" The girls all shared a laugh.

"We saw this coming." Natalie spoke up. "So Bonnie decided to pull a little prank on you."

"Told you I can be very cruel if I wanted to. Tee-hee" Bonnie said, ever so optimistically.

"Now, you're officially part of the club!" Sari said taking her mask off, as the flash-bang died out.

"Club? Wait you mean?" Dave also opened his eyes and was staring at them confused for a few seconds. Suddenly a light bulb lit up in his head "Wait, you don't mean she did that to..."

"Yes!" All the girls said in unison while Bonnie just kept smiling.

"You've been drinking too much David. I had to stop you from going overboard." Bonnie warned him, still smiling.

"Ay, ay ay! You girls are really something else!" Dave sighed, seemingly sobering up from the flashbang. "Anyway Toshi..." He looked towards his friend, who was now gone along with the newcomer. "Toshi?"

"LET GO OF ME!!!!" Toshinori was screaming out loud from the situation he was in. Uncomfortable would be a huge understatement. He was pushing himself away from the new girl, while being carried bridal style by her as they were falling down to the ground from David's apartment, which was on the 30th floor. "Damn, her grip is strong! Guess I have no choi-"

"SHOOTING STAAAR!!!" As All Might was about to into his muscle form, his captor screamed out causing an aura of light to surround her body. In an instant she blasted off like a rocket soaring through the New York City skyline and finally landing on the top of the Empire State Building.

"What the hell was that all about!?" Toshinori, finally having some relatively stable footing, unleashed himself from her clutches and lashed out at his captor while finally getting a good look at her.

She was around his height and age. Wearing her hero costume comprised of Bright Silver Boots and Gloves. A light yellow, almost white, dress with a short skirt, with a big red "S" on her chest surrounded by a yellow Sun like shape. As well as a yellow cape with little silver stars embroided into it. She had puffy shoulder length black hair. But what stood out about her the most was her bright violet eyes, staring at him as if asking for a challenge."

"What?"

"This!"

"This?"

"Yes, this!"

"The Empire State Building, what about it?"

"No, I mean yes, I mean... Why'd you bring me here!?"

"Because you let your guard down. I couldn't resist." She giggled turning her back on him

"What!?"

"You let your guard down." She repeated "If I was a villain, you'd be dead by now. You can thank me later."

"Thank you? For what?"

"For the free lesson of heroism, of course." She turned around crossing her arms "Why are they even teaching you guys in Japan these days? And here I thought you were some big shot hero." Turns out Dave was all talk. As usual."

"Oh so, that how it is?" Toshi smiled, locking eyes with her. Their eyes told them all there is to say. "Well in that ca-" She unleashed a blinding light, causing Toshi to cover his eyes.

"Too slow." She rushed in, but suddenly stopped midway.

"If it's a challenge you wanted? Then it's a challenge you'll get, young lady." All Might stood up in his muscle form, wearing his signature smile.

"Not bad." The black haired heroine smirked "But can yo-" In a flash all Might had taken her by the neck choking her against a wall. "Crap, for a split second. I let my guard down. And after lecturing him about it. Damn it" After a few seconds he let her go, as she fell to the ground supporting herself with her arms, gasping for air.

"My Apologies." He reverted back to his regular form "I got a little carried away back then. You're not hurt are you?"

There was no response, but a quiet almost crying like sound

"Hey, hey. I'm sorry! Please, I didn't mean it. I just-" His speech was interrupted by a loud gory laughter from the woman who was now sitting holding her stomach. Tears were running down her eyes from laughing too hard.

"Uhm, are you okay, miss." The laughter continued, somehow even harder "Miss?"

"Oh, who me? NEVER BETTER!!!" After she responded she started rolling om the floor continuing her mad laughter episode.

"O-kay, because, I don't know if I.", "Geez, this is super weird! And why is she laughing. What's so funny. Is there a joke I'm missing or something?"

"Hey come on! It's not that funny!" All Might was low key scolding Midnight as she was holding her stomach trying to contain herself. Toshinori got hit by a sense of deja-vu.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's just I can't wrap my head around it. It's too ridiculous." Midnight calmed herself somewhat "So you met your late Fiancé when she kidnapped you, flew you over to the top of the Empire State Building, where you almost choked her to death. And she started historically laughing after that! A-hahaha!" The dark haired UA teacher started laughing harder.

"It wasn't "to death"! It was just a light... You know what, never mind."

"Oh, come on Toshi, don't be so dramatic about it. I'm just messing with you!" Midnight finally composed herself "Honestly, it kinda sounds like the next thing you're gonna say is that you "got busy" during the fireworks show. Ha-ha"

"Hey come on! This ain't one of your side hustles, Nemuri!" All Might getting annoyed at his colleague's antics.

"Ohhhh?" Mignight raised an eyebrows when he called her by her first name. "If we're on that subject why don't you finally send me the files with your "Hidden Techniques"? That 60% is still on the table. " Nemuri winked at him, implying he knows what she's talking about.

"For the millionth time, Nemuri! NO!!!" Toshinori snapped at her. "Besides, they are useless to you without my quirk, as I've explained to you a million times! And even if you did managed to work around it, you know my stance about those techniques."

"Worth a shot" Midnight sighed in defeat "Anyway, you were saying? What happened afterwards with..." Midnight twirling her finger in the air trying to remember the name.

"Rebecca Lane!" The heroine extended her arm, keeping a power pose stance "Also known as Starshine, The shining hero! Originally it was going to be Starlight, but APPARENTLY that name was already taken, by some random goody two-shoes church girl, celebrity wannabe brat from some backwater town in Iowa!" She began growling to the side.

"Uh-huh..." All Might tried hard to play along.

"Well, professional jealousy aside. It's an honor and a privilege to meet with you, Toshinori Yagi."

"Yeah, likewise." Toshinori, formal sounding, shook hands with her "I reckon Dave must have told you about me, huh."

"Told me about you? More like couldn't shut up about you at every party he ever went to or organised. With so much praise left and right, I just had to see if you were the real deal! Ha-ha!"

"Oh so that's what this is about. You could have just told me you about this, you know."

"And not test you responsiveness and reflexes." She raised an eyebrow "Sloppy! Awkward! Overprotective! Holds Back! Doesn't trust in other's strength! Quite frankly I'm not surprised why someone like Dave held you im such high regards! He always was such a melodramatic damsel in distress. The only thing left would have been a drunken love confession. Ha-ha."

"Hey that's pretty rude!"

"But I'm right aren't I?"

"Well I'm not perfect, and neither is Dave but..."

"Then that's it! End of discussion. No point in dragging it on! So...!" She sat with her legs crossed

"Let's talk quirks! What's yours exactly! Is it a Power Quirk? Definitely felt like one. Oh, oh, oh. You Inflate your body giving you a power boost am I right."

"Hehe inflating. You know, that reminds me, I did have a weird hobby as a kid. I would make Ballon animals." Toshinori tried to dodge the question "Haven't done that in a while but I'm curious how-"

"Booo! Question Dodging, -10 points!" Rebecca slandered him. "But it does give you a note of mystery! That's 20 points! Still you should have just told me it's a secret, instead of going with the TV interview shtick. -5 points. But on the other hand, I like that fake balloon animal story! 30 points!"

"It... It's not actually fake. I really did like making balloon animals as a kid." Toshi confessed scratching his head.

"Ooooh." Rebecca clapped "Authenticity, 40 points, but the way you said ot sounds like you're embarrassed about it. -60 points."

How does that point system even work? And what's it even about anyway?" Toshinori asked confused.

"Hey, who's the judge here!"

"Nobody!" Toshinori was tired of going in circles so he stated it bluntly "Look it's nothing personal, but my quirk is a closely guarded secret only known by a select few. It's not something I yap about to everyone I meet! It's for their own safety, really."

"I see..." She walked closer to him until she was about two meters away. "I can accept that." She said smiling.

"Good now can we please get back to Dave's place, I really don't wanna miss out on-" Suddenly an onslaught of fireworks started filling the sky, in an array of colours.

"So beautiful!" Starshine was staring at them while Toshinori worryingly checked his wrist watch

"Ah crap..." The clock read 12 o'clock exactly "Dave's gonna be so upset." Toshinori remembered how much Dave gad been begging him to come to his new years party, and for him to miss out the pinnacle of the night, because of unforseen circumstances was dishonorable to the pro hero.

"Hey." Rebecca placed her hand on his shoulder "Lighten up! Don't look so gloomy on new year's eve. It's bad luck."

"Wha-" That line struck a nerve inside him. He wanted to scream at her, so badly. Tell her that's it was her fault, but he just couldn't. He was a at a complete loss for words. Maybe, some part of him was superstitious enough to believe her story.

"After all... It's better to shine just a little than to not shine at all and just suck up all the light out of everything." She went over and leaned on the edge of the skyscraper looking towards the him. "I know it's kinda my fault you're here, but. Look on the bright side." She then turned her gaze towards the sky "The view from up here, that only comes once a year. Don't you dare say this wonderful sight isn't worth it."

Toshi paused for a bit and looked towards the sky. He didn't want to admit it, but she was right. The wide open sky, not obstructed by the tall buildings of New York, covered with bright colorful lights from all directions. It was magical." Huh, I guess you're right. It"'s breathtaking."

"You're welcome." She said while not even listening to him, but being distracted by the lights. She was just so used to saying it that it became second nature. "Shine your light upon the world, pretty lights. Tonight we welcome a new beginning."

"After that we went back to Dave's place. Gotta say he took my disappearance pretty lightly. In fact. I think he was so drunk that he just laughed it off as some sick cosmic joke the universe played on him. No hard feelings, between us. The rest of the party went pretty well. We stayed up late and went our separate ways afterwards. In fact, I a lot of the people there became quite good comrades of mine after that day. Well that about sums it up on how we met each other. Pretty ridiculous story now that I think about it. Uhm, Nemuri, you okay?"

As he finished his story, he looked at his college who was staring at him starry eyed. "Huh, what? Yeah, I'm fine, it's just. Wow. Watching the fireworks from on top of a skyscraper. That's so romantic!"

"Yeah, I guess it was." Toshi fondly remembered it with a smile "Welp, it's getting kinda late. I think I'm gonna get going." Toshi stood up and started stretching

"Aww come on, I wanted to hear more! How did you two started dating? What's the nature of her quirk? What's her favourite food? Did she have pets? What were they? Did she-" Midnight started bombarding him with questions, before he interrupted her.

"Another day maybe. Nezu's calling us tomorrow morning for an emergency meeting, and I don't wanna show up looking like more of a zombie than I already do. I still don't know what it's about, but considering the exams are on Monday, I have a bad feeling about this."

"Yeah, what's up with that? Sunday's usually "Me day", so this better be important."

"Who knows. Anyway... Thanks for today."

"Hmm? For what?"

"For listening. I usually don't talk about Rebecca or my time in the States too much, but. It felt good, to just. Get it off my chest."

"You're welcome Toshi. It was pretty fun if I'm completely honest." Midnight looked at her gravestone "She sounded like a pretty fun person. I would have loved to meet her!"

"I bet you would!" Toshi smirked at her.

"Full disclosure!"

"Right. Well if the meeting doesn't drag on we could pick it up tomorrow over lunch."

"Are you asking me on a date, so you can talk about your late Fiancé? Sounds like a huge red flag to me. Just sayin'."

"Very funny."

"Least you still have a sense of humour."

"Haha, sure."

As the two teachers walked away, making casual chatter, Toshinori spared a second to look back at Rebecca's grave, with a melancholy smile "Rebecca. Your light still hasn't faded. I'm sure of it."

And that's a wrap. I really hope you enjoyed this All Might backstory. Next chapter we're coming straight back to the kids from class 1-A and their drama and weirdness.

But seriously do let me know of you wanna see more of All Might's past. I would love to write more about him.

4.5k Words! Damn, if only I could write my university work with such passion!

Thankfully, I'm don't, otherwise I might not do creative writing with such passion. Ehhh, who knows.

Anyways, I added a few references in this one. Shall we play spot the reference? You might just end up finding one I wasn't even aware of placing in. (That has happened before)

Thanks for sticking around and I'll see you all Next time! Peace!
