The reason why Soma and Erina still meet on a balcony.
She misses him.
She would never say it with her own mouth, but she thinks about him. Constantly. Repeatedly. She was always thinking thoughts of what her life would be like if he had stayed with her after graduation, if they would have grown closer or let life do its work and separate them as the years went on. If that was the case then she would rather the complicated back and forth relationship they currently have.
But if either were the future they would have together then...at least…
She remembers those serene moonlight nights, where they would come when they wanted to be alone, just the two of them. On that particular balcony. She would allow her usual well guarded mask to fall and indulge in human emotions with the only person she wished to show them to.
Only Him.
She would remember how sweet his voice became with every passing word, sweeter than his honey colored eyes that have never failed to show his unwavering gentleness toward her.
How her heart had become lighter, softer, as she listened to him to ramble on about his dreams. Which were secretly melding with hers, spinning into a cord of the finest crimson.
She remembers the crispness of those nights, which gave them a reason, an excuse just to feel the warmth of the other, their arms just brushing shy of each other.
Fingertips touching. His eyelashes caressing her rosy cheeks. As she felt his warm lips tenderly brush over hers, the passion that followed as the world around them would fall away. Leaving the two of them.
On nights like these, she remembers how much she wanted, wishing… even begging that the night would drag on forever… that the moon would stay still in the moment with them, while she was in his arms.
Yet, morning would come and the events of the night would only become a memory.
But she remembers...even dwelling on them as her amethyst eyes watched his silhouette disappear into the crowd. And she dwells on them when mere weeks dissolve into months. Sometimes years, but the memory of his voice.. His touch.. His kisses still move her.
She would miss him. Waited for him. Constantly. Repeatedly. She thought about what her life would be like if he had stayed with her or if they had tapered off as the years flew by. If that was the case then she would rather have wanted him by her side. Life was unexpected and so was he, so life took him away from her. Because he was so full of life… she had wanted to by his side.
Even now in her elderly years, long after he had passed on. She herself, about to see him again… She had no regrets.
But if in the next life… if this time the heavens allowed them to be with each other… at least…
"Let us relive these precious memories of ours… where the moonlight was at its most serene and the chill of the breeze was just so, where we held each other with a secret love... on that balcony."
A bit of Dessert
Erina: I'm on a diet.
Soma: So...no dessert then
Erina: I never said I didn't want dessert, I said I was on a diet
Soma: So what would you like, your majesty?
Then Erina licked her lips, her eyes looking at him hungrily. He knew that look, smirking as he trolled towards her holding her close to him.
Erina: You
Soma: What no, Whipped cream or chocolate?
