Part Six
Sora glanced around briefly, biting his lip, thinking about Sarah...and then he took off, racing towards the main floor.
While all the appreciations of the past we're gone, Sora soon found his friends still in their binds. He quickly undid the binds but stopped as he saw Axel was extremely pale from the icy water.
"Axel?" he whimpered.
He took his hand, biting his lip at the freezing cold of his skin.
Axel was murmuring, he appeared to be badly hurt...but unconscious. He groaned, head slightly shaking back and forth. Sora, in turn, knelt down, holding up his keyblade as he began to cast a CURE magic spell on him.
Xion also used a fire spell to heat the water, being careful not to make it too hot. Soon the water was like a hot spring as the Cure spell healed the many wounds he may have had.
"Axel," said Sora. "It's over now."
Axel's eyes fluttered open, he moaned softly. "It's...it's over?" He quietly inquired.
Sora smiled and nodded as Riku, Kairi, and Namine raced into the room, leading a dazed and confused Ienzo along the way.
"I had such a horrible nightmare.." he muttered softly.
Sora grinned at him. "Well, good news...the nightmare's over." Sora said proudly.
"What exactly happened to me? I.. I don't remember much of it.." Ienzo admitted.
Riku and Isa helped Axel out of the water, Isa carefully draping an old patient's gown over him as he got out.
"You wouldn't BELIEVE what I had to do to fix it." Sora said. "I'm now the keeper of the book." He confessed to them all.
Riku and the others were shocked at this.
"How'd you manage to do that?" asked Riku.
"I met Sarah." He told them all. "The Subject. She needed help just as much as we did."
Riku's eyes went wide in surprise.
"You've.. You've met her.." said Isa in surprise.
Sora nodded. "Yeah! She's really misunderstood." He confessed to them all.
Xion has a sad expression at this news.
"Where is she?" Isa finally asked.
Sora hesitated. "...she's...not here anymore." He confessed. "I don't think she's lingering around this world anymore. She's not tied to the book anymore, and...therefore, not tied to the world of the living."
"S-so she's.." Isa started.
He felt a sense of sadness.
"We.. We couldn't save her.." he finally murmured, his voice taking on a somber tone.
Sora nodded softly. "I'm sorry we couldn't..." He murmured. "But at least we could make sure she wasn't suffering anymore, tied to the book, and to the nightmares it caused."
Isa wanted to say something but could only turn his head to stare at the nearby wall. It was then that a soft buzzing from Sora's Gummi Phone rang.
"Huh?"
Sora went to answer it and was shocked to see a very disheveled Roxas on the other end. His expression was of despair and unbridled anguish.
Sora blinked in surprise. "Roxas? What's wrong?" He inquired.
"A nightmare!" Roxas cried out over the phone. "A horrible, horrible nightmare. I thought I'd died!"
It was very clear he had been shaken pretty badly.
Sora grinned. "Well...I got good news, Roxas. The nightmares are over...for good." He insisted warmly.
Roxas breathed out shakily.
"How long was I out?" he asked.
"Not more than a day or two." Sora insisted. "Why don't we all go out and get some ice cream?" He offered.
Roxas was in shock but soon smiled a bit tiredly.
"Y..yeah, okay." he finally said. "I'll see you guys soon then."
Roxas hung up the Gummi Phone and let out a groan as he scrubbed at his face. Soon getting his things together, Roxas left for Twilight Town. Once he arrived, he could see Seifer was once again with his friends and Roxas let out a breath. It had indeed been a horrible nightmare. As he drew closer, he took notice of Sora and the others were speaking to him about the nightmare Seifer had.
"And if you tell ANYONE about this, I'll be sure to kick the crap out of you." Seifer warned.
"And i bet it wouldn't be as bad as me kickin' your a** if you DID now would it?" Axel countered, smirking darkly.
"You don't scare me!"
Axel gave him a dark look, and Seifer took a step back but soon shrugged it off as if it was nothing.
"Whatever," he said. "We'll see ya later, losers."
As Seifer and his friends left, Axel crossed his arms.
"I think he was better as a scarecrow.." he grumbled softly.
"We had to fix EVERYTHING, Axel," Sora frowned. "And that meant bringing Seifer back too."
Axel was about to protest when Roxas approached them.
"Hey, Roxas." he smiled. "You feeling better?"
Roxas smiled a little.
"Y-yeah." he sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Just.. a bit tired.."
"Well, nothing a little ice cream can't cure. My treat." Axel grinned.
Roxas perked ip a little at the thought of ice cream.
"Yeah, okay."
Axel smiled in return and as they began to head for ice cream shop, Sora held back for a moment. He took out the old weather-worn book he was now the owner of and sighed. Noticing Sora's absence, Roxas turned around.
"Sora, you coming?" he called out.
Sora quickly put the book away and smiled.
"Yeah, I'll be right there."
As he followed behind them, Sora's mind went back to the book. He knew he would have to tell Roxas the truth about what had happened and when the time was right, he would tell Roxas the truth. Sora began to feel lightheaded as the book came to his mind again. He felt an unusual urge to write in the book. Perhaps he could write a story later. There would be no harm in writing it right? He wouldn't allow anyone to get hurt like in the past. He glanced over to look at his friends as an eerie smile soon crossed his face.. Perhaps his friends would like the stories he wrote for them. All he would need was the perfect story-lines for each of them and then.. He could start his new set of Scary Stories in his newly acquired book. After all they were just stories right?
