"Can I stay in your room tonight?"
"Why'd you wanna do something like that?"
"Just to... give it a try, y'know?"
It took a while for Ahsoka to register that she was awake. She stretched, before glancing over at an alarm clock sitting on the bedside table.
"03:51"
It was the final day of her and Anakin's vacation; they'd spent the week alternating between training, relaxing, and ignoring calls from Mace Windu.
Ahsoka hated waking up this early; she was too well-rested to fall back to sleep, but she'd probably be exhausted by midday.
Then, she rolled over to the sight of Anakin sleeping silently beside her. She'd almost forgotten that she was staying in his room.
As she watched his chest rise and fall, she noticed something strange about how he slept. Anakin took up as little space as possible while he slept - from his legs curled up to him half-hanging off the bed. Ahsoka wondered if that was a common trait or if it was just because Anakin was sharing a bed with her.
Ahsoka reached up to Anakin, gently pushing the hair out of his face. He suddenly draped his arm over her in his sleep.
Ahsoka closed her eyes, a small smile on her face. She placed her hand on his back, slowly pulling him further from the edge of the mattress and closer to her. She then buried her face in his chest and gave a sigh of satisfaction.
She must've stayed awake all night, cradled in Anakin's arms. As the light of dawn spread throughout the room, casting itself across Anakin's face, the Jedi stirred.
Ahsoka looked up just as Anakin opened his eyes. "Morning." she cooed.
"Snips?" Anakin squinted. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, "What time is it?"
Ahsoka turned her head. "Half seven."
"How long have you been up?" Anakin asked.
"Not very long." Ahsoka lied.
Anakin shifted to get up. "No, stay." Ahsoka groaned.
"I'll be back in a second." Anakin promised. Ahsoka giggled as he climbed over her, kissing her forehead as he went.
After he left the bedroom, Ahsoka spread out. The bed suddenly felt a lot colder. She could get used to this.
"So, are you gonna get up at any point today?" Anakin asked as he came back into the bedroom, switching the light on.
"Not unless I absolutely have to." Ahsoka teased.
"Well, I could always move the projector in here." Anakin suggested.
"Movie day?" Ahsoka sat up, excited.
"Movie day." Anakin repeated, smiling.
"What are the chances of us not getting sent out on a mission tomorrow?" Ahsoka asked. The two were twenty minutes into some documentary about the history of the Jedi.
"About three million to one." Anakin laughed.
Ahsoka groaned, sinking into the pillows behind her. "I never want today to end."
"Yeah, I know. I know." Anakin agreed.
Ahsoka's eyes wandered back to the hologram in front of her, "Is this all that's on?"
"It's this or some rom-com." Anakin shrugged.
"Hey, maybe we can do that thing again." Ahsoka suggested, "Where I go into your mind."
"If you want. Anything beats this." Anakin motioned to the hologram.
"The Jedi Temple on Coruscant was constructed out of the rarest Mandalorian Iron and a huge crater was used as the foundation." the presenter spoke.
"That's not even true." Anakin remarked, "Documentaries rarely are."
"Alright, I'm ready." Ahsoka said.
"How about you do it this time?" Anakin suggested, switching off the hologram-projector.
"Huh? I don't know how!"
"I'll teach you." Anakin smiled.
Ahsoka moved closer to him, sitting up and crossing her legs, "Now what?"
"Actually, you don't look very comfortable." Anakin spoke, "Here."
Ahsoka felt herself being lifted up by the Force. "Woah..."
Anakin lowered her down onto his lap. "Alright. Now, first you want to push your forehead onto mine."
Ahsoka nodded, before wrapping her arms around Anakin's neck and leaning forward. "Like this?" she asked as she pushed her forehead onto Anakin's.
"That's it. Now focus the Force onto your own forehead, then onto mine."
Ahsoka took a deep inhale, before doing so.
"No, that's too strong." Anakin winced, "Try to limit yourself."
"Sorry." Ahsoka apologised, before lessening the pressure on Anakin's forehead.
"Now hold it steady and drag it downwards."
Ahsoka focused, then tried to follow his commands. She suddenly yelped as Anakin pushed her off.
"Too far!" he gasped.
"Did I hurt you?" Ahsoka crawled back over to him.
"N-No... no. Did I hurt you?" Anakin moved onto his knees and rested his robotic hand on her cheek.
Ahsoka leaned into his prosthetic, "Of course not."
"Do you wanna try again?" Anakin asked.
"Sure.
They assumed their previous position.
"Try to stop at my stomach this time, ok?" Anakin chuckled. If his eyes were open, he would see Ahsoka's lekku darken into a blush.
Ahsoka gasped as she found herself sitting on the mountaintop.
"So this is your's, huh?" she heard Anakin.
"What do you mean mine?" Ahsoka asked, climbing to her feet.
"Since you initiated it this time, we're in your mind." Anakin explained, stepping over to her.
"What's the difference?"
Anakin looked up at the sky above, "No vultures, for one."
"I've been meaning to ask you about that. What were they?"
Anakin sighed, "It's... not important right now."
"Oh."
Anakin took a seat in the grass. Ahsoka quickly joined him. She let out a deep sigh as a wave of calmness washed over here. "Tomorrow we'll probably be romping through a forest on Ithor or slicing up droids on Tatooine." she said, "But I'm glad we can relax like this."
"Let's not talk about the war today." Anakin laid down.
"Yeah, alright." Ahsoka agreed.
Anakin's eyes shot open as Ahsoka moved onto his lap. "Let's talk about something else then." she smirked. Anakin mimicked her smile, "Like about how we've never kissed in the real world."
"No, we haven't." Anakin chuckled.
"I'm gonna add that to my to-do list." Ahsoka teased.
"What else is on your 'to-do list'?"
Ahsoka laughed. "Well, there's beating you in a lightsaber fight and cooking something without burning the Temple to the ground. Have any more suggestions for me?"
"Maybe you should come up with a more realistic list." Anakin joked.
"Hey!"
"If you wanna beat me in a fight, then why don't we do it here?" Anakin suggested, "There's no risk of you decapitating me."
"Maybe some other time." Ahsoka shook her head. She laid down on top of Anakin, her head on his chest.
Anakin held her there. "We should leave soon."
"Fine."
The second Anakin awoke in the real world, he was met with Ahsoka's lips being pushed against his own.
"One down, two to go." she giggled, slightly pulling away, "It's weird that it feels better kissing you here than in our minds."
Anakin smirked, then pulled her back into a kiss. Ahsoka wrapped her legs around his waist, practically locking herself onto him.
As they kissed, Anakin felt Ahsoka move her hands from Anakin's back to the hem of his shirt.
"Hang on." Anakin breathed, pulling back.
"What?"
"It's a bit early for this, don't you think?"
"You're probably right... but I've never seen you shirtless, Skyguy. At least take that off."
Anakin eyed her warily, before sighing and pulling his shirt off. Ahsoka's shoulders fell at the sight of his scarred torso.
She silently traced her hand across a scar along his chest. "Why don't you get them healed?" she asked.
"I'm not sure." Anakin answered, "You can thank our friend Asajj Ventress for that one."
Ahsoka met Anakin's eyes. Then she pulled him into a tight hug, "It'll be over soon."
"Hopefully."
"Well... hasn't this just ruined the mood?" Ahsoka joked, climbing off of Anakin.
"Oh well." Anakin dismissed, "Let's see if that documentary's still on."
"I hope not."
