A/N- Ok I know that I haven't updated in a long time, but I have good reasons. I'm lazy Plus after I graduated high school I went on to college and I spent all my time, not doing homework, but with my amazing boyfriend. He's gone now, HE joined the Marines, so which means that I have about 11 and a half weeks to go until I see him again I decided to keep my mind off of him by writing…and watching Danny Phantom. I love that show. Anyway, it's summer and I don't start college again till August, so hopefully I'll be able to finish this story! I should also be able to finish my other Rocket Power story. Anyway, here is the next chapter, feedback is welcome, and thanks for reading guys. All of you are awesome.

The masked turtle climbed into the kitchen window. His ninja senses scanned the room, looking for the girl. He felt uncomfortable. He never talked to another human before, besides April and Casey. It made him more uncomfortable that he had unexplained emotions for this girl.
"Hello?" Leonardo asked.
He heard footsteps and he could make an outline of the teenage girl.
"Hey," the raven haired girl answered. "I was just lighting some candles," The teenage girl walked around the kitchen island and made her way to a cabinet. She continued, "because I know that you don't want to be seen and everything, so that way we can still see when we eat."
Leonardo was on his guard. He didn't know what this girl was thinking. She had a katana blade hidden under the coffee table the last time he was here.
Leolani grabbed some paper plates from the cabinet and set them on the island, next to the pizza.
"I hope you're hungry." Leolani smiled.
Leo was looking at the girl. He could still see her perfectly. Her beautiful smile showed her amazing perfect teeth. Her dark black hair was so shiny, and her eyes. Leonardo was beginning to get lost in her ocean blue eyes. He could feel drool coming from his mouth.
He shook his head and nervously responded, "I'm quite hungry actually. I'm glad that you like pizza. It's one of my favorite foods."
He grabbed a plate and waited for Leolani to get the pizza on her plate.
"Really? It's one of my favorites too. I love Italian food." Leolani happily answered, while grabbing her plate and heading towards the living room.
Leonardo saw that there was only one lit candle in the living room and it was kind of hard to see, so that
made him more comfortable.
He grabbed his slices of pizza from the box and followed where Leolani went. He saw that she was sitting on the couch. He really didn't know where to sit, but luckily, there was another chair to sit on, right by the couch.
The skilled ninja looked at the raven haired girl awkwardly. He noticed that she was looking around, playing with her hair. He didn't need to be an expert on females to know that she was nervous.
"So" Leonardo strangely looked at his pizza, and back to the girl. "I never had a chance to introduce myself the first time we met."
Leonardo could see that the teenage girl's head shot up and looked at his direction. She picked up a slice of pizza and bit into it. She chewed and chewed, then swallowed.
That gave Leonardo reassurance to start eating, so he took a bite while Leolani answered.
"Yeah, me neither." Leolani piped up. "My name is Leolani. And yours?"
Leonardo started coughing violently. Did I just here what I think I heard? Her name is Leolani? It can't be! That sounds familiar. Almost like the opposite of my name!
"Are you okay?" Leolani questioned worriedly. "I can get you a glass of water if you like?"
Before the blue masked turtle could answer, Leolani got up and headed towards the kitchen.
"I can't believe her name is Leolani." Leonardo whispered to himself. "That means Mikey was right! Wait. Did I just say that?"
Leo heard footsteps coming back and he instantly shut his mouth. Leolani appeared with a glass of water and she set it on the coffee table. She sat down on the couch once again and started eating her pizza.
The turtle grabbed the glass and drank from it. He sat the glass down again and started to strike up the conversation once more.
"Thanks for the water umm Leolani right?" He questioned nervously.
Leolani smiled, "Yes, it's Leolani. It's Hawaiian and it means 'heavenly voiced.' At least that's what my mom told me."
"Well it sure does fit you." Leonardo answered without thinking.
He heard what he said and his face began to get hot.
"What was that?" Leolani asked.
"Oh it was nothing." Leonardo instantly answered and took another bite of pizza.
He could see her smile. The candles lit up her face perfectly. He needed to control his thoughts, unless he wanted another slip up.
"You never told me what your name is." Leolani piped up again. "I think it's only fair." She took a bite of pizza and waited for the turtle's answer.
Leonardo took another sip of water and cleared his throat. "I'm Leonardo."
Leolani stopped chewing for a moment and swallowed. "Leonardo? Like after the Italian Renaissance painter?"
Leonardo smiled and shook his head yes, even though she couldn't really see him. "Yes. It means lion strong or brave, whichever I prefer I guess."
"Wow," Leolani said in amazement, "It's a small world. Are names are almost alike. That's interesting. So Leonardo, do you have any brothers or sisters?"
Leonardo pondered on the question. He didn't know if he should tell her about his brothers, but it was hard not to. Leolani was so easy to talk to and he couldn't lie to her, but he also had to protect his brothers. But, on the other hand, what were the odds that he was going to see her again after tonight. He knew the question to that answer.
"Well," Leonardo began. "I have three younger brothers. One's a hot head, the other is tech savvy and the other, well the youngest of all of us, he's the annoying, jokester, but we all care for one another."
Leolani giggled. "They sound wonderful. And you? How would they describe you?"
Leonardo remembered the words that they all used to describe him. Uptight. People pleaser. Takes things way to serious. Fearless. Know it all.
"Oh well you know how siblings are. You can never please them."
Leolani smiled, "I actually wouldn't know how siblings are. I'm the only child."
"Really?" Leonardo asked. He took a bite of his pizza.
"Yeah," Leolani answered back. "I guess my parents didn't want another one of me or a boy like me. I live here in this apartment all by myself. They are in another country you see, for their job. I don't mind. I like being by myself. It's soothing."
Leonardo was beginning to like this girl a lot. She seemed nice, down to Earth, and she also liked being by herself. He didn't want the conversation being headed towards his direction, so he didn't mind only talking about Leolani.
"That's interesting Leolani. So what do you do in your free time?"
Leolani sighed. "I really don't have free time. You see, well. No I can't tell you."
"No what is it?" Leonardo pushed. "You can tell me."
"Well," The raven haired girl continued. "I actually have a schedule."
Leonardo scrunched his eye ridges together. "A schedule? What kind?"
"I like to plan things out. I'm more a planner. I really don't have free time because I'm busy with other stuff like piano lessons, homework, school activities. I just recently started taking a ninja class a few months ago. Am I ranting?" Leolani asked, slightly embarrassed.
The masked turtle blinked and was slightly confused. There was only one thing that caught his attention. She was taking a ninja class.
"Wait, did you just say a ninja class?"
Leolani shook her head yes, "Yeah, I started a few months ago. I practice on the rooftop. That's why I had that katana blade. My master said that the weapon chose me, instead of me choosing it." She eyed the coffee table, and then she remembered something. The figure sitting in her living room also knew what the weapon was named.
"This brings me to a question about you. How did you know about the weapon I had in my hand a few nights ago was called?"
Leonardo knew she was stepping on thin ice. He didn't want this girl, even if she was meant for him, know what he actually was. It was beginning to be a good night. Once in his life he felt like a normal person. He was actually talking to another human, besides April and KC. This girl has been amazing. They had similar characteristics, but yet she was different.
She didn't seem rude or obnoxious. She even planned out her days, just like him. But it couldn't be that easy. He couldn't let her know that he was a mutant turtle. It would change everything. But, she could know that he was a ninja, and since she too was training like one, she would respect his identity.
Leonardo smiled, "I knew the weapon because the same weapon chose me as well."
Leolani set her empty plate on the coffee table and she crossed her arms. "Oh really? So you're a ninja in training too or what?"
She was naïve it wasn't even amusing to him, "I guess you can say that. Let's just say it runs in the family." Leonardo nervously laughed.
Leolani smiled, "We do have a lot in common. I like this. This might sound weird, but it's so easy talking to you. It feels like I can talk to you about anything."
Leolani knew that her face was red. She knew she was blushing but why? She didn't even know who this guy was. He could be a she for all she knew, but something deep down told her that he was a guy. But she just had to know why he didn't want her seeing him. Was it because he didn't trust her, or was it something bigger than that?
"Leonardo can I ask you something?" Leolani asked the masked turtle.
Leonardo had a feeling that this wasn't going to end well. "Sure." He answered anyway.
"Do you believe in people?"
The ninja was confused by the girl's question. "What do you mean?"
Leolani stood up from the couch and paced back in forth in her living room. Leonardo was eyeing her the whole time. He didn't know where the raven haired girl was getting at.
Leolani piped up, "Like, do you believe that everyone is a good person? That they don't judge, they only do that because they're scared?
Leonardo didn't really know the reason for her question. "Yes I do believe that there is good in everyone, what is this about?"
"Do you think I'm a good person?" Leolani asked.
Leonardo stood up and walked a couple steps back from Leolani. "From what I can tell yes, but please tell me Leolani was is this all about."
Leolani stepped closer to him, "Then why won't you let me see what you look like?"
Leonardo knew it wasn't a question, it was more like a demand. He knew that this was going to happen. He didn't want Leolani to know what he really looked like. It would ruin everything. She was a nice and beautiful girl. She deserved to be with someone that looked better than he did.
"Please stay away from me Leolani. It wouldn't be good for you if you know what I look like," Leonardo warned.
Leolani pressed on, "What's the big deal? If you have scars I understand. You don't have to be ashamed of anything believe me! I want to see your face, who you are. You saved my life TWICE and I can never repay you for that."
Leonardo shook his head, "You are so naïve. This isn't about me having scars because it's something much bigger than that. You can repay me by not trying to find out what I look like. You wouldn't like what you see."
"You keep saying that," Leolani complained. "At least let me be the judge of that!"
Silence filled the room. Both teenagers didn't have anything left to say. One wanted answers and the other avoided them. Which one was going to win?
"You said that you believe I'm a good person." Leolani spoke.
Leonardo looked up at the blue eyed beauty. "Of course," he replied.
Leolani took in a deep breath, "Then please let me make my decision. Don't judge me because others judge you or you think that they would judge you. I want to see for myself."
More silence filled the room.
Leonardo was torn between letting this teenage girl get to him and firmly standing to his decision. She was literally getting under his shell and he didn't like it. He knew this girl wouldn't give up and a part of him liked that. He liked a woman who was ambitious.
The other part of him was upset. He knew that Leolani will never want to see him again after what he was about to do.
Leonardo took a deep breath and made his way towards the balcony.
"Follow me."
Leolani didn't ask questions. She knew she was getting her way and even though she was, she was still scared of the outcome.
They both climbed the fire escape, making their way to the rooftop of the building. Leonardo climbed faster than she did so he could hide before she got up there.
She finally made it and she couldn't see anybody. "Hello? Leonardo? Where are you?" The teenage girl questioned.
Leo could see the girl, he couldn't see him. He still wasn't sure about his decision, but this girl was making him not think straight, and didn't like it. He always knew what to do and he was always in control.
Leolani spoke up again, "Leonardo please. I just have to know who you are. I know you're not a bad person."
She was cut off by someone going passed her in the shadows, she turned around, but saw nothing.
"I know you won't show your face, but I beg that you do because I deserve to know what you look like. You have saved my life twice already."
It was his turn to speak, "I will show myself on one condition."
Leolani kept looking everywhere for him, but yet she still couldn't see him. "Anything." She promised.
"I'll reveal who I am if you don't tell anybody what you saw, you don't scream like a lunatic. Once you tell me to get away, I will leave and you will never see me again. OK?"
Leolani didn't like the sound of that. Why would she scream? Why would she want Leonardo out of her life forever? Call her crazy, but she was beginning to grow feelings for this person. She liked talking to him, she loved that they both had similar names.
She remembered how she felt when she first saved her life. She was scared, but surprised that someone in New York City was actually watching over people. He was brave and he sounded like a wonderful guy. She vowed to herself that she will never tell him to leave.
"Deal."
The deed was done. There was no going back now.
Leonardo took a deep breath and stood out from behind the little shack. He was glad that he was standing behind her.
Leolani knew that he was standing behind her. She breathed in and out. She didn't know what to expect, but a promise was a promise. She was scared, but that didn't matter to her, nothing else did. She wanted answers and she was finally getting the one that was on her mind since the night he saved her.
The blue masked turtle continued to walk towards the teenage girl. He was close enough to where she could see him.
Leolani closed her eyes and turned around. She opened them and gasped. She couldn't believe what she was looking at. It couldn't be what she thought it was.
The figure that saved her was a turtle? A huge turtle that could walk and talk, and knew ninja?
She observed him. He was wearing a bandana across his face, looking like a mask. He was a couple of feet taller than her and he was muscular, just like a regular teenage boy, but he wasn't human.
She saw his katana blades in the back of his shell. There were two.
Leonardo spoke, "So this is me."
Leolani kept gazing up at him and took a deep breath.
This was going to be a promise that she'll never forget.
