Chapter One: Don't Let It Break Your Heart (by Louis Tomlinson)

Chapter Summary: Following the USJ Incident, Aizawa's life is turned upside when he is told that his fertility has been impacted by his injuries.

There was only one thing that Shouta Aizawa wanted the most in the this world. Having a family that he could call his own. Yeah, he had his mate and husband Hizashi Yamada, who he had been married to for the last eight years but a part of him always wanted more to it. He had always wanted a child of his own. It wasn't common knowledge to anyone, not even Hizashi with just how much he wanted to have a family.

Growing up, his parents were hardly ever around. Leaving him in a large house that never truly felt like home. Whenever they were home, it felt like he was a ghost in their lives. There but never seen. Truly seen. To him, he was just a burden in their lives.

He didn't know what it felt like to be loved and cared about until he had made it into U.A. High School's Hero Course. There he had met two of the people who change his life forever. Oboro Shirakumo and Hizashi Yamada. It was the spark that ignited his desire for children. To be the mother... father... which ever one you wanted to call it, to his own child. A child that would never have to feel what he felt. Someone he could love unconditionally. Someone he could care for and cherish forever.

The desire only grew when he met Nemuri Kayama on the roof of U.A. A girl the year above them. Nemuri dotted over him and fussed like a mother would. The Alpha woman practically becoming his surrogate mother.

Before he knew it, the four of them had became a pack. They were his family now. Filling the void that was left in him by his own family. It hadn't been long before Oboro and Nemuri worked on setting him and Hizashi up. Apparently his oblivious ass had no clue that the obnxiously loud Alpha had a thing for him. Their plan had succeeded and they found themselves in a relationship by the end of their first year.

Everything seemed to be going great for them. Until disaster struck and stole the life of Oboro Shirakumo right from underneath them in a blink of an eye. Life for them changed after that. He threw himself head first into working on his skill set and gaining the strength that he needed to be a hero.

He had found himself drifting from Hizashi in the months following Shirakumo's death. That was until one night Hizashi had came to his house. That had been the first night they had ever spent together. The part of Shouta that wanted a family had started to grow again.

He could feel himself healing.

When they graduated from U.A., their relationship turned serious. He moved off of his parents estate and moved into a small, one bedroom apartment with Hizashi. For the years following, they had been constantly busy with hero work but they made their relationship work.

Hizashi proposed to him right after Hizashi got his own radio show on Friday nights. Of course, Shouta said yes. A year later, they married and bonded officially.

Nemuri had been the first to go to U.A. as a teacher. Modern Hero Art History. How she managed to get a job teaching kids? He would never know. Hizashi followed close behind taking a job as the English teacher at the school.

What happened after that? Nemuri put an application with his name on it to be the heroics teacher. After talking with Hizashi, he finally decided to take the job.

He never expected to go back to U.A. but he was determined to never let his students fall victim to the same thing that happened to Shirakumo. He would protect and care for them until they left and became pros themselves.

Everything was starting to look up for him.

At least until he met the problem children that made Class 1-A for his fifth year of teaching. However, seeing them sparked that tiny flame in him.

After the first day of the new school year, Shouta told Hizashi that he wanted to have a baby. The glee that came to Hizashi's face made it all worth it.

They had started their journey into trying to have a baby.

That was until the USJ Incident. The League of Villains had infilitrated the training building. Shouta had felt every fiber of his being screaming to protect these children. Their terrified faces burned into his brain that urged him to jump into the fray. He jumped head first into the swarm of villains, knowing full well that he might not make it out alive.

He pushed himself to continue to fight. No matter how tired that he got or how much his eyes burned from overuse of his quirk. He refused to let these bastards get past him and go for his students. Those kids had a dream. He would make sure they had a fighting chance for it.

He barely remembered what happened after he encountered Tomura Shigaraki. He remembered a large monster looking beast before he face was in concrete. He had heard the voices through the fog. Voices that belonged to his students. Midoriya, Asui, and Shinsou. Somehow he managed to will his head to lift despite the mass amount of pressure pushing down against him. He saved her. By only a second. Had he been a second slower, Asui would of been dead.

After that, everything went dark.

When he came to, the beeping of hospital monitors were the first clue to where he was. So help had arrived. Hopefully in time. He had failed. He had been taken down before he could assure that his students had gotten to safety. He blinked away the fog that had filled his vision. Everything hurt. Pain coursing through his body. It had only taken him a second to realize that his arms were in casts, laying useless next to his battered body. His face was completely wrapped in bandages only living slits for his eyes, nose, and mouth. He didn't have to touch it to know. Badges had their own feel to them.

He blinked a couple of times, noticing the abnormal wetness to his eyes as he managed to turn his head. A small smile came to his face seeing the wave of blonde hair laying on the bed by his hip. Without a thought, Shouta moved his arm and tapped Hizashi on the forehead, effectively waking the man from his slumber.

The Voice hero rubbed his eyes of their sleepy haze, mumbling under his breath for a moment before he had lifted his head completely up. Hizashi's eyes landed on him, a grin breaking out on his face and tears springing to his ruby red eyes. "Shouta!" The man exclaimed, keeping his voice down as low as he possibly could. Which Shouta thanked the heavens for, his brain was pounding against his skull. Hizashi had probably figured that his head was going to hurt.

"The kids..."

Before he could even finish the question, Hizashi gave him a soft smile. "Completely okay. Only Midoriya had some bad injuries with two broken legs and a few broken fingers. Otherwise, only bumps and bruises." The Alpha muttered, reaching out and placing his hand on Shouta's thigh. "Thirteen is also here with some lacerations to the back. All Might got there in time to help."

Shouta sighed in relief, turning his head to look up at the ceiling for a moment. "Thank god." He whispered.

"I'll get your doctor. They've been waiting for you to wake up." Hizashi stated, standing up and pressing the call button on the wall. He took his spot again next to Shouta and waited. Not saying a word but rather rubbing his thumb over Shouta's casted arm.

After a few moments, the doctor came into the room with a clipboard in hand. "Hello, Aizawa. My name is Dr. Yuuki and I will be your doctor while you're here." The woman stated with a smile. "How are you feeling right now?"

Shouta looked at her for a moment before shrugging. "Fine."

"That means he's in pain but doesn't want to say anything." Hizashi added in.

Shouta shot him a glare but Hizashi just rolled his eyes and looked back to Dr. Yuuki. The woman smiled, writing down on the paper in front of her. "Well, your scans looked good. No significant brain damage but you do have a concussion that we would like to monitor overnight. You had a few cracked ribs but Recovery Girl stopped by and healed those up. Your arms were splittered so they will take longer to heal. For now, we want to keep them in a cast until Recovery Girl can assist you with those." The doctor stated, looking up from her paperwork to her patient. "We were worried about your eye sight but it seems that you can see well enough. I would like for you to get checked out by our vision specialist." She paused again, sighing for a moment as she took a step forward. "I also noticed something else on your scans. Aizawa, have you and your husband been trying for a baby? I noticed on your record that your contraception hasn't been filled in a few months."

Shouta blinked at her, dreading where this conversation was heading. The feeling filling in his stomach as it twisted into knots. "Y-Yeah... we are." He muttered, cursing the way his voice cracked.

Dr. Yuuki gave him a sympathetic smile. "On the scans I noticed some damage to your uterus. It's not enough to cause infertility but I am concerned that it will cause for problems with conception in the future. If you are able to concieve, I fear that the pregnancy would be high risk and possibly result in a miscarriage."

Shouta's eyes widened. His ears starting to ring as he felt himself completely freeze. He knew the doctor was still talking but he couldn't hear a word of what she was saying. His world was starting to crash around him. To the point that he would rather be stuck back under the Nomu than in this hospital bed. Listening to these words.

This couldn't be real. It just couldn't be.
