Here's yet another chapter

Percy's POV

I sighed as I fell into bed. Today was a long day, and I could do with some good sleep.

Of course, that would never happen. The other Slytherins, even though this did sound weird, did like to have fun occasionally. Tonight they all decided to all just annoy me to death.

I rolled over and threw a pillow over my head and tried to block out all of the light and noise. At one point I thought to search my books for a noise cancelling spell, but decided that they couldn't on for too much longer.

The next morning, as I slouched over the breakfast table I regretted that decision. Hopefully I would make it through the day. After the incident where Sirius Black got into Harry's common room, I had taken to training a little in the room of requirement during study periods when I didn't have too much homework and sometimes at night when it was easy to sneak out.

This morning I had divination first. I scribbled some random spooky dreams in the book as I ate a plate of eggs and then, as Harry wandered out of the hall, followed him.

"Boo!" I jump up behind him and grab his shoulders. He turns quickly, with his wand pointed at my neck and I throw my hands up. "Harry," I say "Sirius Black won't say 'boo'".

He casts his eyes downwards and quickly I say "but you were really quick with that wand there"

He smiles a wan smile at me. I can tell he didn't sleep much, but there's not much I can do about that, other than yelling at him, which probably won't help anything anyways.

Hand over hand, we clamber into the room. A good half of the class has arrived and we gather at the table currently occupied by Hermione, who left breakfast early for some reason, although she did come back for a piece of toast.

She sat at her desk, flipping through some homework or something, and we join her. Of course, I recognise something that I wrote. What is this book doing here? It shouldn't exist yet.

What's going on here?

Quickly I put my head down and try to hide my confusion as I pull out my book. Flipping to the right I turn to the recent dream chart and start scribbling in the margins as the professor wanders the room, looking into everyone's books. She comes to our table and compliments the hufflepuff girl (I really need to learn her name…) on the 'clarity of her dreams and predictions'.

She comes to me next. "Oh, what's this?" she pauses, looking over the scribbles on my page. "My, these scribbles… they remind me of an old technique, you would simply scribble on the page and then your inner compass would lead your hand in the right direction. I had other plans for today, but…" she raises her voice "Percy here has given me an amazing idea for the class today!' everyone groans and most of the class gives me a dirty look, obviously dreading whatever complex thing that I've inspired. "We're going to scribble for the class and then try and find the meaning in what you drew."

Most of the students slump over in relief when they realise that the lesson is going to be easy today. Professor Trelawney passes out a stack of old parchment and we all scratch our quills mindlessly across the surface.

"So, Harry," I ask "That book over there, where did you get it?" there's a breath of silence and I realise that my query was too direct "I mean, are you really that excited to join my religion?" I end with a chuckle to try and relieve the tension.

"Oh, I found it in the library. I was thinking that I would try and look into the mythology. It's kinda funny though" he pauses "The guy who wrote it thinks that he's the son of a god."

I laugh.

How absolutely ridiculous. If only if it wasn't true…

{ If you're confused about how they're brothers I'm going to explain at the end of the chapter because people have asked }

"So what kind of myths have you read about" Hermione inquires.

"Oh, like all the Gods. I love how the author put Zeus at the end because he was always listed first".

I lean my head downwards to investigate the circular scribbles that I had left on the paper (and a few on the table but were not going to talk about that) as the rest of the people at the table chat. They appeared to form the shape of a vague dog. I quickly, mostly to avoid any unnecessary attention, scribbled a fairly distinct pattern of waves, something that could be written off as a doodling style.

Suddenly Hermione sighs quite loudly and leans backwards in her chair.

"This is useless. We're not learning anything, it's plain rubbish."

Ron, although surprised, immediately jumps onto the new divination hating train "Yeah! It's an absolute waste of time. I could be sleeping".

The professor flitters over and stares at Harry's scribble, muttering to herself before announcing that the symbols are too vague and moving on to mine. Immediately she says "Well, avoid the water. You're surely going to die there."

I chuckle to myself.

She rambles through Ron's scribble, something about spiders (which ron looks absolutely aghast at the mention of) and informs Hermione that divintation does not flow from her core. (rather rudley, in my opinion) and compliments the hufflepuff, before swooshing of to stare at more scribbles.

As soon as the class bell rings we gather our things quickly and all descend the ladder into the corridor below. As we head to the next class we chat and meander through the crowds. I decide that, even though I'm tired, It's a pretty good day to be alive.

Ok so there have been quite a few reviews on how exactly Percy and Harry are brothers. First of all, their mother is both Lily Potter and she did not intentionally cheat on James. It's sort of like how Hercules has a twin brother, but he isn't a demigod. So, for Percy, his mother is Lily and his father is Posiden, and for Harry, his mother is Lilly and his father is James. Hopefully that cleared things up a little. I honestly have no excuse for why this took so long to update, but hopefully I can get back on track and return to a regular update schedule. Anyways, have a good week and see you soon!
