So after a lot of talk with my friend, Izzy, and after I watched an old episode of Casualty, I suddenly felt very inspired to write some Fanfiction. I know it's been a while but I have a new job that takes up a lot of my time and I've been working on a lot of originals that I hope to publish.

So I'm incredibly sorry to have disappeared, but hopefully this update will make up for it. It's just a filler, short chapter but it's something :-) xx

Chapter Twenty-Six

"Did Mrs Beauchamp speak to them then?"

Alicia and Lily were sat on a bricked wall with their legs dangling, over looking Holby's Sandy Beach. Both of them held a can of Pepsi and between them sat a packet of chips for them to share. They'd just finished an incredibly long shift at work, so appreciated the relaxed atmosphere.

"I asked her not to," Lily said, and took a small sip of her drink.

"Why?" Alicia asked. "Everyone's bang out of order there, Lily. They shouldn't have said things like that."

"Because it doesn't matter," Lily said. "You and I will soon be able to move on from what happened, and...I'm sure everyone else will too. Mrs Beauchamp said we can speak to her whenever we need to, and as long as we have our job and each other, isn't that all that matters?"

"It's funny really," Alicia sighed. "You used to hate me."

"I never hated you and you know that," Lily said. "I was just jealous and stupid. You were a lot better at the job than me, and you'd only just started."

Alicia hung her head and took a couple of chips from the packet. A seagull swooped down and held its beak open, in hope that Alicia would decide she hated chips and throw them to him. He flew off in disappointment when she shoved both into her mouth and ate them with no problem whatsoever.

"Do you mind if I sleep at yours tonight?" Alicia asked. "Sorry, but...I still struggle to sleep in the house on my own."

"Of course you can," Lily said. "You don't even need to ask."

"Lily asked me not to say anything, but she was pretty upset in my office earlier," Connie announced, as she huddled the team together in the staffroom. "Apparently there has been quite a lot of blame planted on her, for what happened to Doctor Munroe."

No one spoke.

"Well?" Connie asked and folded her arms across her chest. "Is anyone going to say anything?"

"I was just angry," Louise was the first to speak up. "Alicia is one of my best friends and to hear that the same guy hurt Lily and..."

"It wasn't Lily's fault though," Connie said. "This has been just as hard on her, and you two have gone and made it a whole lot worse. Even if Lily had reported it, this still could have happened. You don't know." She paused to take in everyone's expressions before continuing. "And do you think Alicia wants you to blame Lily? Those two have been each other's rocks."

"I guess we have been a bit unfair," Robyn whispered. "Sorry, Mrs Beauchamp."

"It isn't me that you should be apologising to," Connie said.

"Do you want to watch a film or something before bed?" Lily asked. "You can choose."

"Do you mind if we don't?" Alicia asked. "I'm really tired."

"That's okay," Lily said. "You alright?"

Alicia nodded and leaned her head against the back of the sofa.

"Just still can't believe it, you know?" Alicia said. "You read about stuff like this on the news, but you never expect it to happen to you." Lily nodded and reached out to give her knee a comforting rub. "Sorry. I shouldn't keep talking about it."

"It's good to talk about things though," Lily said. "You're bound to be scared and upset, but hopefully this is a new beginning. For both of us."
