CHAPTER TEN

XXXXX Timeline: Days before Nono called Reborn XXXXX

Betrayed. That was what Fon felt the moment he woke up only to see his fellow Arcobaleno, Verde. Ironically, the Lightning Arcobaleno never truly shield the Arcobaleno like a Lightning so Fon just suck it up. He couldn't fully grasp what is happening to him but he knew is in trouble. However, his pride is probably the most damage one. Never once in his life until now that kids or young adults overpowered him. He is the Storm Arcobaleno, the greatest and number one martial arts, after all. He knew he shouldn't think too much of his ego at the moment, yet this is his pride he is talking about. A prideful man he is, this is a huge blow in his ego.

"Fon, you are awake." How Fon wanted to sneered and slaughtered his fellow Arcobaleno right there and then. Verde is a man of science, he have no ounce of pity for humanity and he doesn't care about beings in general - so much for being the Lightning Arcobaleno.

"Should we try it on him?"

"As much I would liked to, we have to wait for his approval first."

Fon wanted to laugh if isn't feeling so weak and tired or in a container. Verde waiting for someone's approval? What kind of sick bastard that person is for Verde to even see him as worth following? Verde is a man who think high of himself, he doesn't associate himself with lower class (or people because Verde refuse to talk nor acknowledge the Arcobaleno unless it involves his research) and so for Fon, this is a big red flag. Heck, Verde never fully accepted nor acknowledged Luce in the past, and she was the Sky Arcobaleno too.

"My stomach... Tsu only told me that he will get here as soon as The Kira Case finished." Shoichi grimaced, eyeing Fon and Verde back and forth. Fon had heard of this Kira Case before but he doesn't really see it as a threat.

"Isn't that going on for a year now? Thought Kira is a mindless smart dude who didn't know how to fully use the gift given to him."

"I am more concerned on how you fitted the words 'mindless' and 'smart' in a one sentence, Spanner." Verde scoffed, unamused. "Clearly, Kira is nothing but a delusional boy who knows nothing of what he is doing. Worry not, Tsunayoshi have this under control. As what he had told us before and I quote, 'Kira have a passion, I give him that, to make the world a better place. However, such actions and reasoning like his is nothing but a front to hide his ego of thinking he is above humanity.'-"

Fon almost feared for this Spanner's life because no one can get away from interrupting Verde. No one. The man is embodiment of pride and wrath. So, imagine him surprised when he heard Verde laughing.

"Tsunayoshi is such an interesting specimen, all of you are." Verde laughed.

"Please don't refer us that, my stomach doesn't like it. I don't like it! Argh!"

Fon mentally took a step back, he to be rational. The glass container he is placed in is separating him and the three scientists (?) which is why couldn't escape nor move at all. Then, this Tsunayoshi the three were talking about is clearly on the side of the law (?) and Fon guessed he it the infamous leader of Atrocious Justice. It also shown by the three how they respect Tsunayoshi, and Fon think that if he could manage to gained the leader's trust, he can get out of the container but that is really highly unlikely to happen. Really unlikely, later on, Fon would find himself laughing at this. If anything can be compromise, Fon will have to swallow his pride again in order to get out in this place alive.

"Fon," called Verde, "I hypothesized that you will not become our test subject even if we wanted to because of Tsunayoshi's morals."

Just what kind of person is this Tsunayoshi? And since why is Verde in his adult form and not his baby form? Had find the cure yet? Fon didn't even noticed that until now with Verde standing in front of his container.

"Although, if I were you, prepare for the worst. Tsunayoshi may be forgiving but the boy doesn't forget." Before Fon can replied to Verde, he felt his consciousness is drifting away by seconds. "Who knows, you might be able amuse or, best case scenario, catch his interest. The greatest that could ever happen to you is Tsunayoshi trusting and helping you..." Fon never fully heard what Verde is saying as he is not knock out, sleeping.

"And that is what most likely to happen."

If only Fon is awake, he would have seen the unusual small fond smile plastered on Verde's face. If only.

Hana walked towards the owner of untamed brown hair, slapping his back harshly as she said, "Tsuna, beside putting yourself in a very dangerous situations, do tell me what else is your talent?" She put her right hand up to stop Tsuna from talking and continued scolding him, "I don't care about it is needed. Threatening a shinigami, Tsuna? In what world is that sane? -Wait, don't you dare to say anything, your secretary had explained to me everything- Right! You aren't sane at all! None of you are! As much as that works well. No, you will not tell why it works or how the shinigami got scared of you."

Pinching Tsuna's left ear real hard, Hana gave him a sinister grin that rival Kyoya's, much to the dismay of Tsuna. "Tsuna, you need to have a sense self-preservation."

"Hana! That hurts! Stop!"

"It will get hurter if you getting yourself killed!"

Hana stopped, eyes darkened before letting out a sighed of exhaustion, she knew all too well that this won't be the last of reprimanding Tsuna of his actions. "You will be going back in Namimori?"

Tsuna nodded, still aching a bit from Hana's pinched from before. "Heard an unauthorized person is in there, locked in a container with Verde, Shoichi, and Spanner." He started to walk, Hana following next to him. "I got a hunch that he will not the last one to go. 'Side, it has only two days, Vongola will wait until a week to fully send their backup. The sooner we get our information, the better." Fixing his tie and dusting the dirt in his suit, Tsuna turned his head to Hana as they continued walking. "Will you come with me?"

"I have a lot of cases this month. The only reason why I am with you now is because I am on break." Hana replied, as the view of the parking lot came in their eyes, she pat Tsuna's arm softly. "Also, I think you have this all covered."

"When did I never?" Tsuna laughed.

"Correct." With that, they separate their way, each went to their perspective cars and drive into a different location.

Lambo grimanced as he walked into the Sawada Residence, "Man, look at the dust here." He took out his handkerchief and put it on his nose.

"This is why I told you to put on a face mask," Fuuta stated, rolling his eyes at the younger teen's disgust expression. "We should hurry up and find the book Fran-nii told us."

"Why do we need that book again?" Lambo whined.

"Because you asked for it."

Groaning at the Fuuta's answer, Lambo huffed while his right hand hold the handkerchief on his nose and mouth. "I didn't know it was here! Fran-nii shouldn't have said something first before telling to go find it here!"

"Sil," Kyoko called, "Tsuna texted me to inform you to spread to the others he is on his way back there. Hana also called me saying that she will be gone for a month or two."

Rasiel grinned widely, "Sheshesheshe, noted."

On his side, Fran deadpanned, "And why tell to the Fake Prince first." Kyoko's laugh resonate from Rasiel's phone as the owner glared at Fran, offended. "Hana and Tsuna agreed to say it to him first, Fran. Nothing more, nothing less."

At Rasiel smug face, Fran drawled blankly, "How odd."

"Don't push your luck, Hat head."

"Who?"

"My, apologies, I'm Sawada Tsunayoshi," he smiled, "it seems you caught on a trap." Tsuna gazed at Fon's eyes, smile still plastered on his face, "Now, what to do with you, Storm Arcobaleno."

Pondering for a moment Tsuna spoke, "You see, we don't tolerate anyone coming in our territory unauthorized, Storm Arcobaleno. You are in pinch here, dear Storm."

"I wonder," he trailed off, "How much your loyal lies in Vongola?" Keeping his smile, Tsuna continued, "Protection? I can help you with that. Normal life for your student? I can also help you with that." Putting a hand on his cheek, "Curing the curse? I can do that." Tsuna finished.

Dropping the smile, Tsuna's soft and stern expression was replace with a dark one.
