Announcement repeated on a blimp while fireworks were lit.
It was a morning with clear blue sky and everyone on the streets buzzing with excitement. Well,almost everyone.
"I don't know why I have to participate. Komoe-sensei practically coerced me even though I'm not taking the Power Curriculum and have zero potential. I'm going to get crushed by the competition,in public"
Hachiman voiced his frustration. He was in his school gym clothes with white shirt and blue shorts which for some reason made him feel uncomfortable.
Probably because the kids at his middle school teased him when he exposed his legs so he wore full length tracksuits but he'd never admit that.
His schoolmate next to him seemed fine though.
"Don't feel bad Hikigaya. Just think of all the students shining their hope in front of the entire world by displaying their abilities!"
Well,fine to an extent.
Nagito Komaeda was a mystery to Hachiman and odd even by his standards.
He was a pale,skinny as hell boy who for some reason wore his green jacket over his gym clothes.
"That's your thing,huh?"
Hachiman said dryly.
He was an oddity in how he got enrolled in Academy City. He's not classified as an Esper but he was being researched of out all things,Luck.
Or specifically,how he affects his surroundings with his good or bad luck.
Hachiman was sceptical but being with him for any length of time,he saw cycles of bad luck even worse than Touma if that was even possible!
Stuff happened but few days ago he was questioned by Antiskill over suspicious people in Academy City which might threaten security of the Festival.
Hachiman smelled a story when he heard him mention Magicians. They teamed up so Nagito would use his luck to look into it out of curiosity or reasons unknown to anyone while Hachiman would write a story for publishing,after editor approved it of course.
A reason he wouldn't admit was that he cared for Nagito's safety and would call Antiskill,or an ambulance if he ran into trouble because of his luck and recklessness.
The hunt was on...
