With the Arm of Her Brother

A/N: I've started reading boxing manga again and wanna take another crack at writing a boxing AU but y'know, it's illegal this time. So, I hope y'all enjoy Fight and Fury. Sorry it's so short, I promise it'll get longer the thicker the plot gets.

Sandy frowned as Static burst into the hospital room, yelling, "Are you okay? The doctor who was assigned to you called me."

"I'm fine," Sandy mumbled. "Just. . .I won my match." She shrugged, wincing at the action.

Static frowned, tapping his fingers against the side of Sandy's hospital bed. "I thought you got out, what happened? You're supposed to be going pro and—."

"Eli happened." Sandy spat out, her frown deepening as she remembered her cousin showing up outside the gym with two goons flanking him. He wouldn't meet her gaze. He knew that betting on an MMA fight was stupid, but his decision was even dumber.

Usually, it was Sandy getting into trouble but somehow once she moved to Talfryn and reconnected with Static, it was like Eli only had one brain cell and barely used it anymore. So, she entered her first bare-knuckle fight in years.

Sandy shifted in bed, glancing at Static as he watched her. "What?" she asked.

Static chewed on his bottom lip, looking at his friend. "You got out, though. That's not, should I talk to Eli?"

Sandy shook her head, groaning as the movement made her back spasm. "I'll do it when they let me out." She said, patting Static's hand.

Static frowned, grabbing her hand and squeezing it. He might as well let her rest, it was late after all. "I'll be back tomorrow morning." He said, walking to the door and stopping as a tall, black, and red hedgehog stood in front of the doorway.

Shadow cleared his throat, patting Static on the shoulder. "I'll make sure your girlfriend is as good as new," he said, walking further into the room.

Static blinked, watching the doctor for a moment before he glanced at Sandy.

Static supposed there were all types of people in the medical field, but he never thought a man like that would switch to this career.
