Chapter Four: The Samurai Challenge
(A/N: OMG, I am so sorry for the super long wait. As usual I've been procrastinating big time. But the wait is over I now give you the Fourth Chapter to my story. A one message before you start, the word Idem that Anaya uses it the name of the language that the people speak in the Pokemon world. This is not what it is actually called, I'm the one who chose the name the rest is all the creator's idea. That's All, having fun reading.)
Still walking through the Viridian Forest; Ash, Anaya, and Misty continued their journey to Pewter City when suddenly a huge scream was hear throughout the forest scaring a flock of Pidgey. Ash and Anaya both groaned then looked back at the red head who screamed and was now clinging tightly to a tree branch "Oh great, what's wrong this time?" Ash asked sounding a little fed up with her "I see another bug Pokemon, gross!" Misty shouted pointing in a specific direction "Oh is that all?" Ash responded sounding sarcastic
"You know, you're really starting to get on my nerves Misty." Anaya said "Pichu." Chuot Dien said as well "Well excuse me that I can't help that I'm so afraid of bugs." Misty said loudly not looking happy at all "Yeah! Well, I can't help it if I'm so afraid of heights, but you don't see me freaking out at every single flying type I happen to come across!" Anaya shouted back "Not the point; just get rid of it!" Misty shouted as Anaya sighed and a sweat drop came upon Ash and Pikachu's head "What type of Bug Pokemon is it anyway?" Anaya asked, "I don't know, and I don't care." Misty said, "That was sure helpful." Anaya said looking annoyed
"Maybe it's a…." Ash started "Cow-terpie." He said finishing his sentence (or pun) as Misty, Anaya along with Chuot Dien and Pikachu fell flat "That was not funny Ash." Misty said as she and Anaya got up, Anaya walked over to Ash and hit him in the head "Next time you get the bright idea to make a pun out of this, it won't be your head next time." Anaya said threw her teeth "Yeah and you know I hate bugs and I saw one right over there." Misty said as a small larva Pokemon with a yellow-colored segmented body, with a fuchsia colored nose and feet that came crawling towards them. It had a conical shaped stinger on its head and a barbed one on its tail.
Misty quickly darted away and hid behind Anaya "A Weedle!" Ash exclaimed taking out his pokedex "Weedle, The Hairy Bug Pokemon. Weedle has a stinger on its head that is very poisonous and never misses its intended target. Approach with extreme caution." The Pokedex said "A stinger now that's a challenge." Ash said as he put his pokedex away "Why are you so excited about a bug that has a stinger? Just make it go away!" Misty said very loudly and extremely high "Geeze Misty! Your voice just did a voice pitch change all by itself and blasted my ear drum." Anaya said covering her ears
"Oh eh, sorry." Misty said looking a little guilty "And besides, you can't expect a great trainer like me to let a little Weedle escape." Ash said confidently "Well since you're not a great trainer; yes, yes we can." Anaya said as Ash's face went from a self-assured look to an irritated one. "Since you know it all, you should know when to shut up." Ash said, "But just you wait, I'm gonna catch that Weedle." He said as he started reaching for a Pokeball when a thought struck him
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot, you have to weaken a Pokemon in battle before you catch it. Let's go Pikachu." Ash said turning towards Pikachu who looked like it was ready for a nap than a battle "Pikachu." It said as Ash and Misty fell flat as Anaya and Chuot Dien giggled "Your pun was so bad that it put Pikachu into a coma." Anaya said with a content look on her face. "What part of shut up don't you understand?!" Ash questioned her "Oh I understand it very well I just choose not to care what you say." Anaya said Ash grunted in anger but then let out a small laugh
"Well fine then, there's still Pidgeotto and Metapod and they give me the respect I deserve." Ash said holding up two small Pokeballs "Which is none." Anaya said with a sigh "He deserves to have his head examined." Misty said "What good would that do? There's hardly anything up there to begin with." Anaya said, she and Misty giggled at her last statement as Ash's eyebrow twitched in irritation. Suddenly, Misty felt something and looked down to see the Weedle was on her leg. She stood there in fear for a minute then screamed and ran away. "Wait Misty!" Anaya shouted "Don't Just Stand There! Catch It!" She shouted at them while running "Have no fear, Ash is here!" Ash said grabbing a pokeball "We're doomed" Anaya said looking irritated
"Why don't you go look for Misty." Ash said a little annoyed "We should both go look for Misty; being alone in a forest is really dangerous." Anaya said to him "Then I'll be fine, just go look for her." Ash said releasing Pidgeotto, Anaya just sighed "You're hopeless." She said as she took off to find Misty "Pika." Pikachu said getting up while watching Anaya walk away and as Chuot Dien turned around "Piiiii-chu." It said giving Pikachu another Japanese Raspberry "Pika, Pikachu." Pikachu said as sparks came out of its red cheeks as Ash battled the Weedle.
"Why is this forest covered in disgusting Pokemon; I wish they would all just bug off." Misty said as she walked through the forest "Misty!" Anaya shouted "Pii-chu!" Chuot Dien said after her, Misty turned around as Anaya spotted her "Misty!" She exclaimed running towards her "Anaya, what are you doing here?" Misty asked, "Looking for you; it's dangerous to walk out into a forest alone." Anaya told her "What do you mean by 'dangerous'?" Misty questioned "Well, what I mean is, the deeper in the forest you go the more dangerous it gets." Anaya said very seriously "Uh, you mean more bugs?" Misty asked cringing in fear
"That or worse." Anaya said as Misty groaned "What could be worse than bugs?" Misty asked whining "Pokemon Poachers and Hunters" Anaya said "Pokemon what?" Misty questioned very confused "Poachers and Hunters, they illegally capture and sell wild Pokemon for huge amounts of profit." Anaya explained to her "But why do we need to be cautious around Pokemon Poachers and Hunters? They won't attack us if we're not Pokemon and they certainly won't try to take our Pokemon." Misty said
"Actually, they will take our Pokemon, that is if they see it of any value and they might attack us if we get too close to their hideout." Anaya said, "Well luckily we don't have any valuable Pokemon with us." Misty said looking happy "Hey if Team Rocket sees Chuot Dien and Pikachu valuable then what's to say that Poachers and Hunters won't think the same." Anaya said as Misty groaned nervously "Besides, I'm not too worried about Pokemon hunters I'm more worried about getting too close to the Pokemon Poachers hideout." She said
"Huh? What happens if we get too close to their hideout?" Misty asked "I don't know. But I knew a guy that got too close to a Poacher's hideout, the Poacher captured him and tortured him for days. I would say 'Thank Arceus' since he survived, but in this situation I'm not because even though he recovered from his physical injuries, his mental injuries never healed, and it never will." Anaya said as Misty froze in fear "Hey, it could be a lot worse." Misty said clearly trying to hide the fact she was terrified but wasn't hiding it very well
"Oh, it could've been way worse." Anaya said scaring Misty more "What do you mean by that?" She asked "Well, I've never seen it for myself but, I've heard rumors that some Poachers often kill those who've witness their hideout." Anaya said "Huh?! Why would they do that?" Misty questioned loudly "To make sure that no one knows they're there, if they let the person go free, they know that the person gonna report their location. So, take the person out no one will ever come looking for them." Anaya said explaining to Misty who looked dumbfounded
"Who the freak is this girl?" Misty asked to herself as Anaya unzipped a zipper at the bottom of her book bag and grabbed a pokeball "This won't protect us from possible Poachers; but it will take care of unwanted bugs." Anaya said confusing Misty even more "Go Vulpix!" Anaya shouted releasing her Vulpix from its pokeball "Vullllllll!" It shrieked "Pichu." Chuot Dien said when it landed on Vulpix's head "Why are you using Vulpix?" Misty asked as Anaya put the pokeball back where it came from "Because, bug types are weak against fire types. Plus, bug type moves have no effect on fire types." Anaya said
"Oh, I get it." Misty said with a smile on her face when suddenly they heard something rustling in the trees, they turned around to see what made the noise but only to find a guy, who was strangely dresses as a samurai, coming down at them screaming "Hiyah!" All the while wielding a sword, both Misty and Anaya screamed in terror as they closed their eyes and waited for the sharp impact that never came. They opened their eyes and saw the guy standing in front of them with his sword pointing directly towards Misty's face
"Hey! Watch where you're swinging that thing! You could've stabbed somebody's eye out! I swear, didn't your mother tell you to never play with sharp objects?!" Anaya shouted obviously terribly angry "Greeting, oh shrieking maidens." The guy said ignoring Anaya's statement who fell flat to the ground "Chupichu?" Chuot Dien said looking at Anaya worried "Vul? Pix?" Vulpix questioned "Are either of you by any chance the Pokemon Trainer from the town of Pallet?" He asked "No, that's not me." Misty said quickly shaking her head no in fear "No, I come from Minato City." Anaya said who was still on the ground
"Alas; my search continues." He said placing his sword back into its sheath then turned his back to the two girls "I advise the both of you to avoid from further shrieking while passing through this forest, unless your goal is to attract a horde of Beedrill." He said and walked away "Kind of hard not to do that when there's a sword wielding maniac on the loose." Anaya said standing on all fours as Misty sighed in relief as she sat on her knees "Yeah, he was definitely off one of his rockers." Misty said, "Uh huh, clearly out to lunch." Anaya said as she petted Vulpix then Chuot Dien who apparently wanted attention as well
"Wait, didn't he say that he was looking for a Pokemon Trainer from Pallet Town?" Misty asked, "You don't think…." Anaya started when both gasped "Ash is in trouble!" Both girls said at the same time Anaya got up "Vulpix return now." Anaya said returning Vulpix back into its pokeball "We've gotta save him!" Anaya said walking over to Misty and helped her up "Oh, I hope Ash is still battling that Weedle." Misty said as she and Anaya took off running with Chuot Dien now on it usually perch on Anaya's shoulder "Well, from what we know about Ash so far, I bet you anything he's still battling with that Pokemon and believe me I don't bet." Anaya said, "I hope you're right." Misty said
Luckily, Anaya had her money bet in the right place, Ash was just about to capture the Weedle when the same samurai guy came up behind Ash "Yes, we've weakened it, now time to capture it." Ash said grabbing an empty pokeball from his belt "Greetings. Am I addressing the Pokemon trainer who comes from the town of Pallet?" He asked "Yeah, I'm a Pokemon trainer from Pallet Town, but in case you couldn't tell I'm a little busy at the moment." Ash said trying to focus on capturing the Weedle "Finally, I have found you at last." The guy said unsheathing his sword "Ash!" Misty shouted, "Get away from him he's dangerous!" Anaya shouted
"Huh?" Ash questioned as he turned his head towards the two girls "Hiyah!" The guy shouted swinging his sword down and pointing it inches away from Ash's face "Th-that sword doesn't scare me, and there's no way you're taking my Pokemon either." Ash said, "I am no Pokemon thief." The guy said as Misty and Anaya ran up to them "Then who exactly are you then?" Misty asked "I dunno, maybe a wanted criminal or a convicted serial killer. Sorry if the sword gives it away." Anaya said "None of the above, I am Samurai. I am also shrewd, fearless, and completely invincible in combat." The guy name Samurai said as he placed his sword in its sheath
"So, was that all a part of your name or is it just Samurai? And if your name is just Samurai, then why do you call yourself something after an ancient Kanto Military soldier?" Anaya asked which was responded with Samurai falling flat as Misty covered her mouth to hide her giggles while Ash just looked at the ground trying not to smile "I find your sense of humor spiteful." Samurai said getting up quickly "What do you want from me anyways?" Ash asked "A Pokemon match, let us see who triumphs." Samurai said holding up a pokeball
"Pika?" Pikachu questioned tilting his head slightly to the left "Wait, hold on!" Ash exclaimed then turned to look behind him where the Weedle had been knocked out only to see nothing there "Ahhh! The Weedle's getting away!" Ash shouted once he spotted the Pokemon going into the bushes "I'm gonna get it." He said "Go Pokeball!" He shouted throwing the pokeball that was in his hand but the Weedle disappeared before the pokeball could hit its target "Dang it." He said really upset "Well, he clearly has focusing issues." Misty said
"No, he's clearly oblivious." Anaya said with an unamused look "Pichu, chu Pichu, Chupi." Chuot Dien said with the same look on its face (T: No, he's just stupid.) "Pidgeotto, return!" Ash shouted calling Pidgeotto back "Thanks for nothing jerk; if you hadn't distracted me, I could've caught that Weedle." Ash said, "You know I hate to say this but he's actually right." Anaya said not looking too happy "First time for everything I guess." Misty said "Do not blame me for your failure. It's your Pokemon handling that is to blame, it's all dim-witted and clumsy." Samurai said
"Says the guy pointing a sharp sword at people's faces." Anaya whispered to Misty who giggled "What do you know about Pokemon? I'll bet I can beat you in a Pokemon battle even while I'm blindfolded." Ash said as Misty looked dumbfounded "Never mind he's delusional." Anaya said, "There is only one way to find out." Samurai said holding up his Pokeball as Ash grabbed a Pokeball from his belt "Pikachu." Pikachu said shaking its head "Let's go Pidgeotto!" Ash shouted throwing Pidgeotto's ball releasing it. However, it only just laid on the ground looking tired.
"Uh oh." Ash said "Ash, don't you know that you have to let your Pokemon rest once in a while?" Misty asked "Well, I uh?" Ash said trying to figure out what to say, "Remember who you're talking to Misty." Anaya said making Ash growl "Only a rookie goes into battle with a worn out Pokemon. Your error will cost you dearly. Pinsir, prepare for battle!" Samurai shouted throwing the Pokeball releasing a Pokemon with a huge brown body and a pair of large gray spiky pincers on top of its head "Whoa, he's got a Pinsir." Ash said as Anaya took her Pokedex out
"Pinsir, the Stag Beetle Pokemon. Pinsir lives deep within the forest where it burrows or hides in treetops on cold nights. It uses its powerful claws to capture prey, these claws can even shatter the thickest of logs." Dexter said "That Pinsir looks pretty strong. But you can still handle it, right Pidgeotto?" Ash said "Pidgeo!" Pidgeotto said as it nodded its head towards Ash "OK Pidgeotto, use Sand Attack!" Ash shouted as Pidgeotto flew up and flapped its wings expelling sand at the Pinsir, but it didn't move an inch "What it didn't do a thing?" Ash questioned shockingly "Using that move is child's play." Samurai said "Huh?" Ash asked dumbfounded
"Ash, Sand attack is a ground type move. Ground types aren't very effective against Bug type Pokemon." Anaya explained "Say, I hear the wisdom flowing from your mouth." Samurai said, "Say what?" Ash said earning a sweat drop from Misty, Pikachu, Anaya, and Chuot Dien "He's saying I'm smart." Anaya said as Misty sighed in irritation "Pichu, Pichu. Pichu; Pichu" Chuot Dien said (T: Now he's evolved into a complete moron.) "Pinsir, use tackle!" Samurai shouted, Pinsir appeared from the blanket of sand and rammed into Pidgeotto knocking it out which Samurai laughed at "Your Pokemon has been beaten." He said as Ash grunted "Pidgeotto return." Ash said return the Bird Pokemon to its ball "Well then new kid, do you surrender?" Samurai asked
"Not on your life, that was just a warmup." Ash said taking out another Pokeball "I chose Metapod." Ash shouted releasing Metapod from its Pokeball "Watch as my Pinsir crushes your Metapod in half." Samurai said "Oh crap! I forgot about the claws." Ash said "Shocking." Anaya said sarcastically "Call back Metapod Ash, not even a bug Pokemon deserves this." Misty said, "This battle has already been won." Samurai said as his Pinsir charged in for the attack "Metapod! Use harden!" Ash shouted Metapod then started to glow and its outer shell became thicker just before Pinsir grasped it in its claws. It was so thick that it broke some of the spikes on Pinsir's claws
"Pikachu." Pikachu said happily "Whew, thank goodness it worked." Misty said in relief "Ha! Who's the rookie now?" Ash teased "Pinsir return." Samurai said calling Pinsir back "I must applaud you for your intelligence, but this time I will be the one that's victorious." Samurai said as he grabbed another pokeball "Now Go!" He shouted releasing none other than… "Wha-Metapod?!" Ash questioned with a bit of shock "Metapod use harden." Samurai commanded "Maximum hardness Metapod!" Ash shouted as both Metapod followed their trainer's commands
"Well, they're gonna be at this for a while." Misty said looking a little annoyed, scratch that, make that very annoyed "This would be a great time to do a little reading." Anaya said sitting down then taking her backpack off "Bookworm." Ash said "Inexperienced Oirugeji." Anaya responded back Misty looked at her really confused while Ash growled at her looking extremely mad. He chose to ignore her and focused back on his battle. Hours went by and neither Ash nor Samurai looked close enough to winning the battle (A/N: Don't tell them that though).
"More power, Metapod. Samurai's is weakening." Ash said Misty and Pikachu ended up falling asleep with Misty leaning up against the tree as Pikachu was leaning against her. Anaya was leaning up against the same tree with the book still in her lap as Chuot Dien laid near her leg also asleep. "Use all the power you have, prove to them that you're the stronger Metapod." Samurai said Anaya sighed in annoyance "Men are such babies." She whispered then turned the page
Not far from where they were; Team Rocket was walking through the same woods carrying some sort of cardboard box over their heads like some shield, Meowth was perched on top looking like he didn't have a care in the world, "I'm tired." James cried "Quit your whining James." Jessie said bitterly "But why are we dragging this tank around for?" James questioned "It's to protect us from the Beedrill. Ever been stung by one it hurts." Jessie explained to him "Hey, quit all that chattering down there!" Meowth shouted
"And what exactly are you doing up there?" Jessie asked with a hint of anger in her voice "We could use a little help you know." James said sounding upset as well "I am helping; I'm being the look out." Meowth said as he looked like he was about to take a nap "Then look out for this." Jessie said as she punched the roof of the so called "tank" knocking Meowth off the top "Hey! Come back you two, wait for me!" Meowth shouted running as fast as he could trying to catch up to the two.
Back at the Metapod vs. Metapod match, well, nothing had really progressed. But the heat was starting to effect on both male trainers "Just a little more Metapod." Ash said struggling "Stay with it, he's starting to break." Samurai said also looking like he was having a tough time too, Anaya just sighed "Scientists say the Universe is made up of neutrons, protons, and electrons. But it's pretty clear that they also forgot about morons." Anaya said when not a moment later both boys fell flat on their backs waking Misty, Pikachu, and Chuot Dien due to the loud vibrations "Huh, eh, what, who?" Misty said coming out of her dream as Anaya closed her book "I call that a draw." She said putting it back in her backpack
"Don't give up Metapod." Ash said threw his teeth "Oh boy, you two are more hardheaded than your Metapods!" Misty said, "And more stupid as a matter of fact." Anaya said "Chu!" Chuot Dien squealed while yawning when suddenly they heard something that sounded like a chainsaw "What's that noise?" Misty questioned "A swarm of Beedrill is approaching!" Samurai shouted getting up "We must conclude our match for now. Metapod return!" Samurai shouted retrieving his Metapod back into its pokeball as the heard of Beedrill came into view "A Beedrill swarm!" Ash exclaimed taking out his pokedex
"Beedrill, the Poison Sting Pokemon, and the final evolve form of Weedle. Beedrill has a poisonous stinger on their forelegs and abdomen which it also uses to capture its prey." Dexter said "The Weedle that you let escape has informed the rest of its herd. Have a good day." Samurai said then left "Hey wait, where do you think you're going?!" Anaya shouted towards Samurai when a Beedrill came swooping in and captured Metapod, both Misty and Anaya gasped as Ash reached for Metapod's pokeball "Metapod, return now." Ash shouted trying to return it but kept missing as the Beedrill disappeared.
"No, it got away. Hang on Metapod, I'm…" Ash shouted putting the pokeball back on his belt as he tried going after Metapod, but Anaya grabbed his jacket preventing him from going any further "Ash no, it's too dangerous." Anaya said preventing him from going any further; suddenly a Beedrill appeared and came in for an aerial attack directly at Ash and Anaya. Both Pikachu and Chuot Dien jumped up into the air and used thunder shock on the Beedrill. Unfortunately, they also ended up shocking Ash and Anaya which created another friction and massive explosion.
Both trainers groaned as they fell to the ground while the Beedrill flew away slightly injured and burned. "Ash! Anaya! Are you two ok?" Misty asked as she ran towards them as they sat up while groaning in pain "Why did you hold me back?!" Ash exclaimed "FYI Mr. Pokemon Professor, there's a swarm of Beedrill all over this forest, going into it alone is like having a death wish." Anaya said "Well, Metapod is more important right now." Ash said now getting up on his feet
"Ash, I understand that you're worried about Metapod but, you can't help it if you get hurt." Anaya said also standing up "Oh, like you know what it's like to lose a Pokemon!" Ash shouted making Anaya gasp "Why you ungrateful jerk, here I was trying to comfort you and calm you down. Don't I at least get a thank you for being nice?" Anaya questioned angrily "I never asked for your solicitude." Ash said clearly angry as well while the two have each other fierce glares, Misty glares at them annoyed "Great, we get to do this some more." She said
When one of the electric Pokemon made a noise, she looked down and saw Pikachu and Chuot Dien going at each other as well. "Pika, Pika? Pikachu?" Pikachu asked Chuot Dien (T: Why did you go and use Thunder shock? It messed me up?) "Pichu? Pichu, Pichu, Pi-chu." Chuot Dien said (T: Me, mess you up? Don't blame me for your mistakes. I was only helping my friend.) "Pika, pi, pika. Pikachu, pika, Pika-Pi, pi, Chu-Pika, Pikachu, pi, pika, Pikachu!" Pikachu exclaimed angrily (T: Yeah, well your so called helping made me accidentally shock Ash and Anaya. Besides, I wouldn't had made a mistake if you didn't intervene.)
"Pichu! Pichu, Pi, Pichu!" Chuot Dien shouted (T: Seriously! Take some ownership of your mistakes!) Misty sighed "Oh no, not them too." She said looking tired from all of this fighting. But she regained her composure then grabbed both Ash's and Anaya's arms grabbing the attention of Pikachu and Chuot Dien "Come on, we need to move." Misty said yanking them away as the two rodents followed them "Right." Anaya said and started to run making Misty let go of her as the two as Chuot Dien jumped into her arms "But what about…" Ash started to say but Misty yanked him even harder before he could finish his sentence.
All three trainers continued to run through the thick Viridian Forest, with the Beedrill still hot on their trail. Soon they were reunited with Samurai who was also running through the forest "Oh great, it's you." Anaya said not too happy "Save your bickering for later, the Beedrill are starting to gain on us big time." Misty said "Pikachu." Pikachu said running with Ash "Chu-Pichu." Chuot Dien said clinging to Anaya. They then ducked inside a bush and hid as the Beedrill pasted right by them. The trainers sighed in relief; but that relief was cut short when they saw a huge group of yellow cocoon-like Pokemon "It's a hive of Kakunas." Samurai said whispering
Misty was about to scream when Anaya covered her mouth "Now's a good time to use Samurai's advice and avoid from shrieking." Anaya whispered which sent a chill up Misty's spine. Ash slowly grabbed his pokedex out of his pocket trying to not make a sound "Kakuna, The Cocoon Pokemon, the evolved form of Weedle and the Pre-evolved form of Beedrill. Kakuna will often be seen hanging from tree branches by long strands of silk and remains virtually immobile as it waits for its next evolution stage. However, if it is attacked, it will extend it poisonous barbs." The Pokedex said "I don't think I've seen this many Kakunas in my life." Anaya whispered
"One wrong move and we'll wake them up." Samurai said also whispering when Ash suddenly noticed Metapod up against the tree "Hey, there's Metapod!" Ash said happily; he was so happy that he forgot that he needed to be quiet. Misty covered his mouth trying to not get caught "You need to stop shrieking as well." Misty whispered angrily, but the Kakunas heard them and glanced towards them. The four trainers sat there frozen in fear; Pikachu's ears were perked up and its face totally showed fear. Anaya held Chuot Dien awfully close to her while its ears looked like they were flattened as they all waited for something to happen.
Without warning, the Kakunas started to glow and crack. The trainers all watched as the hive of Kakunas transformed into Beedrill "They've all evolved!" Misty exclaimed "Òbh, Òbh." Ash whispered which apparently nobody heard because that when Anaya slammed her fist into Ash's head "It's your big mouth that's going to get us killed." Anaya said angrily threw her teeth when the Beedrill surrounded the trainers "Forget about it and just run!" Misty shouted as she got up and ran out of the bush dragging the knocked-out Ash by his arm as the others followed right behind her.
They ran through the forest as fast as they could trying to find a safe place to hide when they suddenly came across a wooden cabin "AH, there's my cabin! We might just make it." Samurai said they ran into the cabin and closed the door behind them and locked the door. The Beedrill tried to attack them using their stingers but couldn't get extremely far. After things calmed down, Samurai peeped outside and noticed the Beedrill still outside but just floating around as if they were guarding "Their still out there, but they're guarding the area. But they'll leave after a while." Samurai said, "So we just wait here until they leave, but still, it was a very close call." Misty said
"Too close for my taste." Anaya said "Pichu." Chuot Dien said sounding worn out as Ash finally woke up "Ow, my head." Ash said as Samurai took his helmet off "I hope you've learned your lesson rookie." Samurai said as Ash stood up "Your stupidity almost cost us our lives." Samurai continued making Ash angry "Hey you take that 'rookie' crap back." Ash said, "I do take it back, because not even a rookie would abandon his own Pokemon like you did." Samurai said as Ash grunted "I tried to save Metapod but…" Ash said trying to explain himself but couldn't "Chu." Pikachu said looking sad as it watched Ash's hand shook in frustration "Your Metapod will pay for your inexperience. The other trainers from Pallet Town would've never been so irresponsible." Samurai said
"Huh? What do you mean other trainers from Pallet Town? Hold on just a sec, you must've battled with Gary Oak and the other three trainers." Ash said "Yes, and those were three spectacular battles, each more challenging than the last. Those trainers really know how to raise their Pokemon. Even though I was defeated by all three, I was more determined to train even harder. I have been waiting patiently for the day when I finally beat the next trainer from Pallet Town." Samurai said, "That's why you wanted to battle with Ash." Misty said getting up "Yes. But comparing you to the other three, you're a joke." Samurai said pushing Ash's buttons as Anaya glared at Samurai not saying a word to him or the others.
By the time, the Beedrill gave up their pursuit on the four trainers inside the cabin. It was nighttime, Samurai was kind enough to let the three trainers, including Ash, to sleep in his cabin. They then started cooking dinner as Samurai went out to get some water, Anaya volunteered to join him, she held the bucket as Samurai pumped out the water. Occasionally, Anaya would glance up and look at Samurai. "From the looks you're giving me; I'd say you want to tell me something." Samurai said Anaya then slammed the water container to the ground and looked up at him "I don't think you should've treated Ash the way that you did." Anaya said
"I said what was on my mind, and that's final." Samurai said, "You know I did knock him out, that prevented him from getting Metapod." Anaya explained "So that justifies for his actions?" Samurai questioned "Of course not, but don't say that he abandoned Metapod when he had no control over the situation." Anaya said "Explain to me why you're defending him? From the way you treat each other I wouldn't call you two the best of friends." Samurai said, "The reason why I'm defending him is because you're pointing the finger at him saying it was all his fault for abandoning his Metapod but when in fact this is all your fault!" Anaya exclaimed loudly
"My fault? How is his Pokemon training and handling my fault?" Samurai exclaimed as well "Think about this good and hard Samurai, who was it that distracted Ash from catching the Weedle? Who was it that had to battle the next trainer from Pallet Town so badly that he didn't think twice what might happen if he didn't catch that Weedle? Who was it that trained so hard just because he wanted to be able to prove himself? Face it Samurai! If you hadn't distracted Ash from catching that Weedle it would've never had gone to its hive, warn the other Beedrill, kidnap Metapod, and Ash wouldn't have left Metapod behind! If it weren't for you, Metapod would still be in Ash's possession!" Anaya shouted
"You don't believe that he would've abandoned Metapod if he wasn't knocked out?" Samurai asked "I can't answer that because I don't know him that well. We only met a little more than a week ago. But from what I've seen so far; I don't believe he would. That being said, human emotions are very complexed things. We do stupid things without meaning to when we are feeling a certain emotion. For instance, when we were being chased by the Beedrill our fear was heightened to its max. So, with that in mind, I don't know what Ash would've done if he weren't knocked out, but I would like to believe that he would do anything to rescue Metapod." Anaya said
She then bent down and picked up the water pitcher as Samurai just watched what she was doing "Tell me something." Samurai said confusing Anaya "Why do you travel with him? Comparing you to him and from what you previously said, you obviously have way more intelligence than he ever will. In fact, he doesn't seem to have any intelligence at all." Samurai said, "Believe me, I'd rather be facing a herd of angry Rhyhorn." Anaya said while rubbing her neck as Samurai looked confused at her "And to answer your question, I don't know why I'm still with him. His stupidity really gets on my nerves. But I wouldn't say he has no intelligence." Anaya said
"What do you mean by that?" Samurai asked "Like I said, I've only known Ash for about a week. But even in that short amount of time, I've noticed a lot of little things about him and I can tell, just by the way he talks and his knowledge of big and fancy words, he's obviously been well-read and well-educated. Now that I think about it, the word I called him during your guy's battle was a Japanese word." Anaya said "You said two words actually. You said 'Inexperienced…' Uh?" Samurai said trying to remember the second word she said "Oirugeji." She said "Oirugeji, is Japanese; it means Oil gauge." She said as Samurai looked dumbfounded "That's not much of an insult if you ask me." He said
"Well there is another word for Oil gauge and it's also sometimes a slang word used to insult people." She said as Samurai now looked shocked "You called him that?" Samurai asked surprised "Yeah so?" Anaya questioned which Samurai just shrugged "The point is, he knew what that word meant, you and Misty had no idea what I was saying. Not a lot of people today speak Japanese, even though it was the primary language of Kanto and other regions a long time ago, it hasn't been used since probably before the time of the second Pangaea. Nowadays, only people with exceedingly high social status, and I mean extremely high social status like royalty and nobility, including those who go to College and study the language, ever learn Japanese." Anaya explained
"And I don't know if you heard it, but Ash said something that definitely didn't sound like Idem to me. But I think he said 'oh dear' in a different language though I'm not sure how I know that all I can say is it sounded really familiar to me. Putting that aside, this means that Ash knows more languages than just Japanese and Idem." Anaya said, "So what, you think he has a high social status?" Samurai asked "That, I am not sure. But it's pretty clear that Ash received some top ranked education and was extremely well taught. My guess, he had a lot of professional tutoring." Anaya said
Samurai grunted and crossed his arms "Seems to me they forgot to teach him a thing or two about Pokemon and Pokemon Training." Samurai said making Anaya groan in irritation "I know. Every time he says something stupid, I feel like my head shrinks just from being around him and it drives me crazy." Anaya said as she picked up the water container and started walking back to the cabin with Samurai "How have you survived this long?" He asked, "I have no idea." She said with a sigh
When Samurai and Anaya came back with the water Misty had just finished preparing the food and was waiting on the water. She did ask, a little upset, why it took so long to fetch it, but Anaya just responded that she had gotten separated from Samurai and didn't know her way back. Misty just sighed and took the water from Anaya's hands, Anaya then looked over at Ash would hadn't said a word since they got back. She knew that Ash was extremely worried about Metapod, so she didn't say anything. After they had dinner, the four trainers went straight to bed: exhausted from the Beedrill incident.
Samurai, Misty, Anaya, Pikachu, and Chuot Dien all fell asleep quickly. However, Ash stayed awake; still worried about Metapod "Metapod." He said, tired of all the constant worrying and doing nothing, Ash slowly got out of his sleeping back, placed his hat and jacket on then left the cabin without making a sound. Apparently, he did a surprisingly good job of not waking the others up, because they didn't notice he was gone until Pikachu woke up and didn't find its friend was not in his sleeping bag. "PIKA! Pikachu Pi! Chu-Pika!" Pikachu shouted "Huh? What's the matter Pikachu?" Misty questioned still waking up "Is something wrong?" Anaya asked
"Pika pi, Pika, pika." Pikachu said pointing to Ash's empty sleeping bag "Wha…Where's Ash?" Misty questioned as she got out of her sleeping bag now fully awake "Take a wild guess what he's doing." Anaya said as she got out of her sleeping bag as well Misty had to think for a minute but gasped when she realized where he had gone "Oh, he went after Metapod." Misty said "I gotta say, that's the stupidest and most suicidal thing to do. The Beedrill will tear him to pieces before he can even save his Metapod." Samurai said now getting out of his sleeping bag "Then we need to find him before that happens." Misty said as she quickly grabbed her stuff "Misty's right, no one deserves that kind of torture." Anaya said who also began to grab her stuff "Pichu, Pichu!" Chuot Dien said looking like it was ready for action
Samurai didn't move he just stood there and watched the two girls pack up their stuff "So, blondie." Samurai said, "My name is Anaya." She said glaring up at Samurai then returned to packing up "Still think that he wouldn't abandon his Metapod if he wasn't knocked out?" Samurai questioned "What? Why would you even think that? I know Ash's isn't the most responsible trainer and I know he isn't the most intelligent either, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love his Pokemon with all his heart. Right Anaya?" Misty asked the blonde trainer
"I don't know." She said confusing Misty "He might've abandoned Metapod if he wasn't knocked out maybe not. But there's no doubt in my mind that he'd be doing the exact same thing he's doing now, knocked out or not. He'd do anything in his power to make sure Metapod returns safely." Anaya said Misty smiled and nodded "What makes you so sure?" Samurai asked "Huh, well…" Misty started but couldn't answer the questioned and became embarrassed. Anaya didn't say anything at first, but then pointed at Pikachu "Pi? Pikachu?" Pikachu said with a confused tone as it pointed to itself "Pikachu. Pikachu is proof of my words." She said "Huh?" Misty said totally not following what Anaya was saying "How is that rodent proof of what you're saying?" Samurai questioned
"Because, when Ash first got Pikachu, Pikachu didn't want anything to do with Ash I can't tell you how many times Pikachu shocked Ash. The thing is, Ash could've just given up. He could've just taken Pikachu back to Professor Oak's lab and waited to start his Pokemon journey the next time starters were available. But Ash didn't; he stuck with Pikachu, he was determined to break the wall Pikachu placed around itself and be its friend. If Ash has that much determination to work with a Pokemon that doesn't want anything to do with humans, then he has the determination to save Metapod and fix his mistakes." Anaya said with confidence
Misty and the two electric rodents were awestruck at Anaya's speech. Samurai, however, just stared at Anaya not saying a word. "Well? Are you going to help us look for Ash or not?" Misty questioned Samurai didn't respond to her, he walked over to a chest and started rummaging through it "Hey! Aren't you going to answer…" Misty started but Anaya held out her hand causing her to stop "Just let it go Misty, it's obvious that he doesn't want to help us."? Anaya said as she grabbed her and Ash's bookbag "Let's just find Ash before we find only just parts of him." Anaya said as she placed her bookbag on her back "Yeah ok." She said grabbing her bookbag and placed it on her own back as well
"Wait a minute." Samurai said as he pulled out a small metallic cylinder can from his chest "We're gonna need this." He said tossing the can to Anaya who caught it with ease "Huh? What is this?" She asked him "Bug Repellent. It will keep away the Beedrill from coming close to us." He said standing up the two female trainers smiled "Once we're done. We should go to the place where we once saw Metapod." Samurai said Anaya stared at him not saying a word then smiled and nodded
Back at the Beedrill's tree, Metapod was still on the ground leaning against the tree. Ash was hiding in the bushes lying on his stomach so the Beedrill didn't spot him while trying to think up a plan for getting Metapod safely back without disturbing the Beedrill from their sleep. He hummed in thought when Meowth suddenly landed on top of his head breaking his concentration "You wanna know what my favorite game is twerp?" Meowth questioned "Get off me." Ash said instead of answering the cat Pokemon's questioned as he jerked his head to get Meowth off him which he accomplished but then received a fury swipes attack directly on his face.
"Scratch and sniff twerp." Meowth said as Ash cried out in pain "Guess who!" He heard James say "Huh?" Ash questioned turning towards where his voice was coming from. When he looked behind him, he saw Jessie and James standing on a rock. "Prepare for trouble." Jessie said, "Make it double." James responded after her as they began to start their motto.

To denounce the…" Jessie started to say when Ash stopped her and James from continuing their notorious motto "Please don't say another word, can't you say your motto another time?" Ash questioned in a whisper this however made Jessie growl in frustration "Do not interrupt the Team Rocket motto and no we will not wait until the next time." She said not really caring about the Beedrill or she just didn't know they were there. "Find, but could you keep your voice down? The Beedrill might…" Ash started trying to warn them, but Jessie just cleared her throat.

James." Jessie and James said continuing their ridiculous motto "We are so dead." Ash said now realizing they weren't going to stop no matter what he says or does.
Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light...
Surrender now or prepare to fight...
Meowth, that's right." Jessie, James, and Meowth shouted out now finished with their motto but unfortunately, their shouting also woke up the Beedrill, however, Team Rocket didn't seem to notice at all. But Ash sure didn't and yelled in fear as they prepared to take charge at him. "Little twerp, why don't you be a good boy and give us your Pikachu." Jessie said
"Hold on, where's the blonde twerpette?" Meowth questioned "Without that Pichu it isn't a complete set." James said, "Who cares, we'll just grab Pikachu for now and we'll go after the Pichu once we have it in our possession." Jessie said, "Sounds like a plan to me." James said with an awkward grin "There's no use trying to resist us, so be smart and hand over the Pikachu." Jessie said, "And you'll also tell us where blondie and that Pichu are hiding." Meowth said "Well you're outta luck right now, Pikachu's not even with me, but even if I did, I'd never let you take Pikachu or Chuot Dien." Ash said then left the three.
"Hey, come back here!" Jessie shouted as she and the other two hopped down from the rock and followed him "Maybe if I dodge, the Beedrill will go after Team Rocket." Ash thought to himself as he ran to save Metapod with the three troublemakers still in pursuit of him. When the Beedrills prepared to attack Ash, he jumped forward and did some sort of somersault missing the Beedrill by only centimeters, and just as Ash hoped, once the Beedrill saw Team Rocket they made a b-line directly towards them stopping them in their tracks. However, that didn't even make them flinch "Well, at least we have the tank with us." Jessie said
"I have to say it was well worth the effort to carry it all the way here." James said as he went back to the rock to grab it when he brought it back, he noticed a bunch of Weedle eating the so called 'tank.' "OH NO! THEY'RE EATING THE TANK!" Meowth shouted "Well, we did make it from cardboard to reduce the weight." James said, "Who would've guessed?" Jessie said crossing her arms "You two are a bunch of idiots!" Meowth shouted waving his arms up and down in anger when the Beedrill appeared ready to attack the trio. This time, with no protection, they screeched in fear and retreated leaving without a prize and Ash alone who finally reached Metapod with a huge smile on his face looking relieved.
"Oh Metapod, I was so worried about you. But don't worry I'm here to take you back with me." Ash said as he reached for its Pokeball "Come on Metapod, let's get you into your Pokeball. After that we'll try to find a Pokemon Center and get you checked out." Ash said now holding the enlarged Pokemon in front of Metapod. "Metapod, Metapod." It said as it shook its entire body as if it was saying no "Metapod." Ash said looking like he was ready to burst into tears when he heard the sound of buzzing behind him and looked to see a Beedrill charging straight at him. He yelled then quickly turned to Metapod "Come on, let's get out of here." He said taking Metapod and tried to escape from the Beedrill.
"I didn't mean to leave you behind Metapod. I was unconscious, so I couldn't get you. Besides, it's all Samurai's fault and if Anaya hadn't, whoa!" He shouted as he tripped and fell to the ground, losing his grip on Metapod, who went flying and landed a couple feet away from its trainer. Ash made no attempt to get up and continued to lie there motionless "No." He finally said, "It wasn't Samurai's or Anaya's fault, it was all my fault." He said getting up on his hands and knees but kept his head down so his hat covered his eyes.
"If I had been more responsible as a trainer, I'd stop making excuses. From now on, I swear I'll never run away from a friend again. No more excuses." Ash said now fully standing on his two feet and walked towards Metapod, though you couldn't tell just by looking at its face, its eyes told a completely different and motivated story. Ash looked at Metapod for a bit but was then distracted by the Beedrill that was only several inches away from his face and was ready to attack.
"Ash!" Misty shouted running towards him "Watch out! It's about to use its Twin Needle attack!" Samurai shouted towards "Ash you gotta get out of there right now!" Anaya yelled "Pika-pi!" Pikachu shouted as the Beedrill began its attack when suddenly Metapod jumped in front of Ash and the Beedrill taking a direct hit from its stinger which it ended up breaking its stinger and forcing the Beedrill to retreat and leaving Metapod with a huge wound. Ash caught Metapod just before it hit the ground, but Ash knew something wasn't right. "Oh No! Metapod!" He shouted extremely frightened that his friend was hurt "Pichu!" Chuot Dien shouted also sounding worried
"Metapod, are you ok? Are you hurt? Metapod, say something!" Ash exclaimed becoming more frighten by the minute when suddenly Metapod began to glow. Ash and the others gasped in awe "Pika, Pika." Pikachu exclaimed happily as Metapod began to change form. As the light died down a large purple Pokemon with two body segments and four blue legs with two pairs of black and white veined wings was revealed. It squealed once then started to flap its wings and took off "It's Butterfree." Ash said completely happy and surprised "Pichu." Chuot Dien said in delight "It's beautiful!" Misty exclaimed as Anaya chuckled "Not even a bug type can keep you from liking Butterfree." She said, "It's just the creepy ones I don't like." Misty said with a giggle "Cha!" Pikachu squealed in delight as Ash pulled out his Pokedex.
"Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokemon, and the final evolution of Caterpie. Butterfree's wings are covered in a water repellent powder that falls off when it flies and allows it to search for its favor nectar even when it's raining." The Pokedex said as Butterfree circled around Ash who had a big smile on his face. But that soon faded when he noticed another huge swarm of Beedrill closing in on them "Oh great, here comes the other Beedrills." Ash said when Butterfree floated down next to him and squealed "Butterfree." Ash said, Butterfree only looked at Ash and squealed to him as if he was saying something to him. "Yeah." Ash said with a sappy look on his face as if he understood what it was saying
"Okay. Butterfree use Sleep Powder to knock out the Beedrill!" Ash shouted Butterfree then began to flap its wing and sprinkle blue sparkly dust-like powder on the Beedrill, sending them all to sleep. "Yay! Butterfree, you did it! You're the absolute best Butterfree!" Ash shouted happily while jumping up and down showing how happy he was "You were able to handle your Butterfree very well, especially just after it evolved. I'm overly impressed." Samurai said as Ash continued cheering "Pikachu." Pikachu said sounding impressed as well though Ash clearly was listening to either of them "I don't think he can hear you guys." Misty said with a smile "I guess I can understand that." Samurai said as Anaya giggled "Pichu." Chuot Dien said while shaking its head though it had a smile on its face.
"This trail will lead you straight to Pewter City." Samurai said once he showed Ash and the two girls the way out of the forest "Great. Thanks again Samurai. But we really didn't get to finish that battle of ours." Ash said, "My friend, compared with you, I was the rookie one." Samurai said confusing Ash, he looked over towards Anaya who gave him a wink "But I will continue training hard and maybe one day we will meet again and finish that battle of ours." Samurai said, "I look forward to that day and when it does, I'll give you a rematch you won't ever forget." Ash said holding his hand out "And I guarantee to do the same." Samurai said shaking Ash's hand.
"Just promise not to do a Metapod vs. Metapod battle again." Misty said as Pikachu crossed its forepaws "Pika-chu." Pikachu said nodding its head in agreement "Oh, like you have something to say about it, Pikachu." Anaya said teasing the electric rodent "Well, until next time Samurai." Ash said taking off "See ya." Misty said walking with Ash "Make sure you don't stab somebody's eye out with that sword of yours." Anaya said walking with them as well "Pika! Pika!" Pikachu shouted while waving goodbye after it climbed up onto Ash's shoulder
"Pi-Chu!" Chuot Dien shouted after it hopped onto Anaya's head and waved goodbye as well "Farewell to all of you." Samurai said as he watched them disappear. With the Beedrill gone, Ash and his friends leave the Viridian Forest and make their way to Pewter City. Once there, Anaya will challenge the Pewter City Gym though one question is in mind: What kind of Gym is it?
(One last note, the word Oirugeji does mean Oil gauge. If you didn't realize it, Anaya calls Ash dipstick, which is another word for oil gauge. And the word Òbh, Òbh. that Ash says is indeed another language, and it does mean 'Oh Dear.' I've been learning the language for some time now (which is why I haven't been updating), I'm still learning it as we speak but I've gotten a fair amount into the language to know what a little bit of it means.
