Chapter One: Betrayal and a tough decision...

Felicity stared at her computer screen. She didn't know what she was staring at in particular, right now it was just some random numbers and a grid on the screen. She sighed in frustration. She, Oliver and Diggle or Team Arrow as they were so affectionately dubbed by Cisco Ramon, had just finished another dangerous mission. Granted she wasn't the one in on the real action but she manned the coms and let the boys do the dirty work. Felicity was particularly frustrated this evening because she was alone. Even after all the action and guns and arrows Diggle had gone home to his wife and Oliver was busy at home brooding over his spilt family and his life mission as the Arrow. So here she was stuck in the arrow cave.. Alone again. She hated to admit it but this Team Arrow thing was getting boring. At first she has thought it would be exciting, a behind the scenes seat to all the action and for the first part it was. She had also secretly joined due to her attraction to Oliver, however the actual work itself became monotonous quick. It was the same thing over and over again, Dig and Oliver would beat the criminal to a pulp and throw them in lockup and she was stuck in a chair the whole time.

Felicity grabbed her things and headed toward the elevator. She checked her watch. It was still relatively early in the evening. She just needed a good hot shower and maybe a glass of wine. Felicity exited the elevator and began her walk to the bus stop. Her car was totally tanked when Oliver had slammed the body of Deathstroke through the windscreen and Deathstroke proceeded to get up like nothing happened and pummel Oliver on the hood of her car. Long story short the car was written off and she was stuck taking the bus from now on. As she walked she pulled her long tan coat tighter around her beautiful frame, there was a chill in the air and it made her shiver. Continuing her stride, Felicity passed by Fabians.

Fabians was her favorite restaurant granted she had only eaten there about twice because the prices were through the roof but nonetheless the food was amazing. She could smell the garlic bread and their famous Fabians butter shrimp pasta. Her stomach growled in response...she frowned as she walked by the side walk seating of the restaurant. Lots of couples were dining together, laughing and enjoying themselves and Felicity rolled her eyes. "Romance is over rated anyway!" She resoned with herself. Frankly speaking Felicity was still a little miffed at what had happened between her and Oliver. She had fallen head over heels for handsome crime fighter only to be told he wasn't ready for a relationship and that "my duty to this city and my work are too dangerous for you to get caught up in. If something happened to you I'd never forgive myself..." She couldn't lie..the rejection hurt like a bitch but she understood for the most part. Quickening her pace Felicity just wanted to reach the bus stop quickly at this point but something caught her eye making her stop dead in her tracks. It was Oliver..and he was'nt alone, he was with Laurel Lance. And from the looks of things they looked to be really enjoying themselves. Felicity just stood there flabbergasted. She didn't miss the the way Oliver held Laurel's hand while they spoke. Tears began to form in her eyes. They stung and spilled over as she sharply turned away from the obviously in love couple before they could notice her. "He lied", she thought as she practically run away from the restaurant. " It's not that he didn't want a relationship...he just didn't want ME!"

Felicity reached the bus stop and was secretly grateful that none one else was there waiting. She covered her mouth with her hand and let out a muffled anguished cry. Her tears now flowing freely she felt betrayed and hurt. She sat on the cold iron bench of the bus stop and clutched her chest the bitter truth physically hurt. Oliver just didn't want her. She like everyone else in her life. Her parents, her grandparents and even ex boyfriends. Felicity's parents had abandoned her as a child and left her with her grandparents, who also just used her for foster checks and abused and tormented her. Her last boyfriend had physically, emotionally and mentally abused her and yet she still held on with him even through all of the torture she went through. Infact he had been the one to break up with her after she had given him some money and he took it and fled the city with the redhead he had been cheating with. She was forced to quickly dry her tears as the bus pulled up. She stepped on and scanned her bus pass, not without escaping the watchful eye of the old bus driver who could tell she was crying from her red eyes and flushed cheeks. Taking her seat with her head resting against the window she thought about everything that had just occured. She was done with being hurt and tossed aside, used just for her smarts and then quickly discarded when no longer needed. How could Oliver lie to her like that she thought, did he not think of telling her truth. Instead like a cheating husband he decided to lie about not wanting a relationship under the pretense of protecting her all while he was getting cosy with that floosy. Her tears had began again, and she made a sudden decision she hoped she could follow through with. She was leaving Team Arrow..for good...
