Chapter 12

The bell had rung and everyone went back to the class. Chiba sighed knowing he still had to bring one of them to the dinner tonight.

For the most part Chiba was spaced out and not really listening to Korosensei's lecture.

Meanwhile Hayami and Sugaya are having an inner turmoil with themselves about their feelings for the resident emo sniper.

A few hours later go by and the bell rang signaling it's time to go home.

Chiba hurriedly caught up to both Hayami and Sugaya before stopping them midway down the mountain.

Chiba smiles sheepishly at the duo "Sorry for not speaking to either of you today. I had a decision to make and I finally have decided."

The duo looked at each other before looking back at Chiba. Hayami then decides to speak up on the matter.

Hayami "Well spit it out"

Chiba "I want both of you guys to come to my house for dinner."

Sugaya decided it was his turn to speak "Why? You usually don't want us there in general."

Chiba "It's not like that okay? I have no problem with either of you coming to my house. But tonight it's because everyone has to bring someone to dinner since it's our parents last night before leaving again. My siblings are bringing their boyfriends and I didn't want to choose between my best friends so I want both of you to come."

Hayami and Sugaya looked bewildered and China's statement. Unknowingly to them there little stalkers also heard the exchange between the three.

Hayami and Sugaya stared at Chiba and just nodded their head about the dinner.

Hayami starts back walking "I would love to attend"

The boys followed her example and started walking again too.

Sugaya "Same here as well. Should we head straight to your house or change first?"

"You can head straight to my house if you want. Maybe we can study before dinner?"

They both smiled at him before they followed Chiba to his house.

Sugaya 'Awkward… how can I make this less awkward but still casual tease?' "So did you and Tadashi finally come out?"

Hayami jolts "Wait Chiba you're actually?!"

Chiba groans "I'm… questioning… But no. Tadashi isn't out. But me and my sisters know he likes this guy…"

Sugaya smirks putting his hands behind his head "I'm surprised you let any of them date?"

"I already made a deal with Nee-san's boyfriend. Tadashi's boyfriend, Hitoko, is his childhood friend so I don't really care if it's him. Senna I absolutely do NOT approve of this!"

Hayami "Overprotective much?"

Chiba's vein pops annoyed "Hayami you're an only child. Sugaya you're the youngest. Neither of you have room to talk."

Sugaya snickers then the mood shifts as they turn onto Chiba's street.

Sugaya grabs Chiba's shoulder "Chiba. I gotta ask something… now…"

Chiba shrugs "Okay?"

Sugaya leans into his ear making his blush a little "Tsukki…?"

Chiba grits his teeth stepping back "Don't worry about it. I can de…" he goes limp and shoves his hands in his pockets "Let's just get this over with…"

Hayami raises an eyebrow "You have parent issues… right…? I won't pry. But are you sure about this?"

Chiba nods and touches under his bangs "Definitely some issues… and yeah I'm sure…"

He growls annoyed "If not those brats will win and everything will go to even more shit!"

Both his "dates" sweat

Sugaya "Er… so what's the actual plan here?"

Hayami nods "You said they were bringing their… romantic partners…"

Chiba quickly blushes waving his hands "Yeah but that doesn't mean- I'm just gonna be honest and say you two are my best friends! Completely platonic! It wouldn't be right to choose one! So I-"

Sugaya smiles fondly that Chiba doesn't notice but Hayami does.

Hayami 'Sugaya loves him…'

Sugaya 'He couldn't decide who he likes more… somehow that actually makes him more adorable? Hehe… I can see the marks on his neck~ maybe I went overboard?'

They get to his house and go inside.

Chiba gulps nervously "I'm home…"

"Well maybe if you wouldn't be so pushy with him he would open up to you!"

"I'm trying not to be pushy but if I'm not then he won't even speak to me!"

"Dad just- leave him too me. I raised him more than you have."

Chiba tightens his fist and both his guests notice him shaking a little.

Sugaya puts a hand on his shoulder "Breath. Just breath…"

He nods taking a breathe "Right…"

A boy Sugaya's height with light reddish orangish hair and light blue eyes comes into view "Ah! Ryūnosuke!! Did you miss me?!"

Chiba groans being pulled into a hug "Katsuki… we talked about personal space…"

Katsuki let's go then lights up seeing the two beside him "Are these your boyfriend and girlfriend? Nice to meet you both. I'm Kotetsu Katsuki. Rukia's boyfriend."

Sugaya bows a little "Sugaya Sōsuke."

Hayami nods "Hayami Rinka. And we're just friends."

Sugaya nods confirming it "We aren't dating."

Katsuki looks at Chiba confused.

Chiba sweats "I'll explain during dinner. Excuse us. We have to study for an upcoming test."

"Oh? You want some help. I feel like things ended kinda weird last time…"

Chiba crosses his arms "We're fine. But do me a favor? Tell dad to listen to Nee-san."

Katsuki nods and puts his hands on his shoulders "Ry… I've been here for years. I know everything. But… I also know that you don't completely hate him… we can talk more another time. Okay? For now you and your friends just hang out in your room. I'll make sure Tsukki and Haruka leave you guys alone until dinner. Alright?"

Chiba relaxes a little "Okay… thanks…"

The three assassins go upstairs to his room. Sugaya and Hayami exchange a glance.

They get to his room.

Chiba "I have clothes that could fit you guys if you wanna change out of the uniforms?"

Hayami and Sugaya nods.

Sugaya "That would be nice."

Chiba walks to his closet before pulling out 2 sweatshirts, a pair of gym shorts, and a pair of sweatpants.

Chiba "Here you go, a sweatshirt and the gym shorts is for Hayami and the rest is for you Sugaya"

Hayami "Where am I suppose to change?"

Chiba "Oh right, the bathroom is two doors down from here and across the hall"

Hayami nods before leaving to the bathroom.

Chiba looks to Sugaya "Are you comfortable in changing in here with me?"

Sugaya nods with a faint blush on his face and starts taking off his clothes.

Chiba turns around pulling off his shirt.

Chiba "Sorry for telling you about dinner last minute but I had a lot to think about"

Chiba looks at Sugaya 'wow he is well built I didn't think he was hiding that under his clothes'

Chiba trails his eyes down a little farther before turning back around with a blush on his face 'Why did I give him gray sweatpants? His bulge is …. wow. STOP! Don't think such things about your best friend.'

A little after both boys finished getting dressed they were now sitting in an awkward silence before a knock was heard.

Hayami on the other side of the door "Are both of you boys dressed?"

Sugaya smiles "Yes Hayami there is nothing Rated R to see"

Hayami opens the door to see the boys fully dressed. She walked in and sat her neatly folded clothes next to Sugaya's on Chiba's dresser. Both looked her up down before blushing.

Chiba 'Wow she looks good in my clothes'

Sugaya looks away from her after a while with a blush 'She looks like an anime girl that wear those oversized sweaters'

Chiba averts his hidden gaze realizing he was staring "Um… sorry for not telling you about the dinner until right before…"

Hayami shrugs taking out her pigtails "It's fine. Is there anything we should be aware of first?"

Chiba 'so cute with her hair down…' "Ah well… you've both met my family before… but this's definitely different. Nee-san and Tadashi should be too jumpy to really question to much. Katsuki will likely tease. So will Hitoko." His vein pops "I'm gonna beat both those brats…"

Sugaya hits him over the head "No murder. We don't need a repeat of that."

Chiba blushes fixing his collar to hide the marks "……"

Hayami clears her throat tying her hair into one ponytail "Anyways? Katsuki seems to be fairly close?"

Chiba falls silent watching her.

Sugaya nods tucking a strand of hair behind his ear "Katsuki's been coming around here since Chiba was in primary school. He tries to help them out but Chiba's to stubborn."

Chiba 'Shit shit shit!!! They're both hot!!! Hayami looks so cute!! The shirt is kinda falling off her shoulders and ponytail!!! Gray sweatpants for Sugaya was a terrible idea!!! And since when does he do that with his hair!!!!'

Chiba throws himself back laying down and covers his face with his arms 'Why do I find both attractive?!?!'

Sugaya "Oi you good?"

Hayami "Chiba?"

Sugaya sighs "Okay he's dead. Hayami I know the basics of the situation. Hitoko is Tadashi's childhood friend and was like a little brother to Chiba. But now might be Chiba's future brother in law."

Chiba kicks him "Bastard! Those brats aren't getting married! Objection! They're like 12!!"

Sugaya laughs "For now! Anyways Senna?"

Chiba sits up and looks at the floor to avoid staring at either of them "Senna barely started dating this guy and I absolutely do not approve. I'm gonna kill that little brat and-"

Sugaya grabs Chiba by the chin and puts his finger to his lips "Chiba. No murder."

Chiba blushes falling silent.

Sugaya lets go and looks back at Hayami who's sitting on Chiba's chair watching them

Sugaya "It's an easy way to shut him down that doesn't require kill moves. But it won't last as long."

Hayami smirks "Noted."

The three sit in borderline awkward silence.

Sugaya then stands up getting both of their attentions.

Sugaya 'Chiba has concealer right? I remember him saying that he doesn't use it much? Should be in here right?'

Chiba "Hey don't go through my stuff? What're you doing?"

Sugaya opens his desk drawer "Where do you keep your makeup? I remember you have concealer and foundation for sure."

Hayami "Why do you have makeup?"

Chiba sighs "Sugaya bought it for me."

Sugaya nods still searching "My theory is that Chiba hides his eyes because he has insomnia. Figured he's insecure cause his eye bags aren't designer. So I bought it to hide them and his acne."

Chiba pouts "I don't even have bad acne…"

Hayami 'Why does he hide his eyes… I wonder what they're like… going off his parents and siblings eyes they're either blue, purple, or red… for the shape…'

She imagines how he would look without his bangs and blushes softly that goes unnoticed thanks to Sugaya.

Sugaya "Found it! Now Chiba hold still."

Chiba tenses "Eh? Why? Sugaya! Sugaya don't you dare try to do my makeup again!"

Sugaya sighs "I'm not."

Sugaya sits beside him again and pulls Chiba's shirt making both the snipers blush.

Sugaya "But I am gonna save our asses. So unless you wanna explain why you have these marks? I suggest you stay still."

Chiba nods letting Sugaya hide the marks.

Chiba 'So close!! His fingers are so cold and he's so close!! Shit shit shit!!!'

Sugaya "Chiba. What should we expect from parents?" 'He's blushing… Why is Chiba so adorable…'

Chiba 'Good a way to not think about his cool fingers against my skin or his soft breath against my ear or focus!!!!' "Both will assume we're all dating. Better shut that down fast. Dad will probably ask very weird questions. Mom will ask about your families and school and how we met. That stuff."

Hayami averts her gaze "Our families…"

Chiba "Hayami…?" 'She looks uncomfortable… now that I think about it? She never said anything about her family?'

Hayami shakes her head "Nothing. Anything else?"

Chiba nods giving a few more things that could be brought up.

Sugaya doesn't listen very much 'He loves her… Chiba's in love with Hayami. Hayami's in love with Chiba. I know this… so why… why can't I stop myself from falling for him… maybe falling for her a little too… Can we pretend we're all dating for tonight? What if we really were too…'

His mind continues to wonder until he finishes covering the marks "I'm done. Hayami can you see them?"

She shakes her head "Can't tell where they were."

Chiba sighs relieved "One problem solved."

He fixes his shirt and Sugaya scoots away.

Awkwardness comes back.

Sugaya 'Dammit… that's right… these two can't start conversation…' "We should study a bit before dinner right? Ah ha…"

Hayami 'He's trying to make things less weird?' "Right."

Chiba 'At least Sugaya is able to carry conversations' "Especially you. You're slipping again."

Sugaya pouts "You know I suck at math…"

Chiba sighs retrieving his notes "Yeah yeah. I know."

Chiba starts helping Sugaya and Hayami both with the math since it's his strongest subject.

After awhile there's a knock on the door

"Ryuu-nii?"

"Come in…"

Tadashi opens the door "Can we talk for a sec…"

Chiba recognizes the voice and nods "I'll be back. Don't touch anything."

Chiba leaves the room with his younger brother.

Sugaya "……Wanna see a picture of Chiba as a kid?"

Hayami raises an eyebrow "Huh?"

Sugaya snickers reaching for a small box from under Chiba's bed "He keeps old family photos here."

"And you know this because…?"

"Don't worry about it~"

Hayami sweats "Um Sugaya… can I ask you something…?"

Sugaya smiles softly "Don't worry. I won't tell Chiba you actually have a crush on him."

Hayami blushes "Huh?! That- that wasn't what I-"

He shrugs.

Meanwhile the two brothers

Tadashi sits on his bed playing with his fingers

Chiba sits beside him "Well?"

Tadashi gulps "Ryuu-nii… I'm… I'm gay…"

Chiba nods "Alright. Tadashi I told you. I support this. Hitoko has been there through everything. So if you have to start dating… I'm glad it's him."

Tadashi smiles a little then it fades and he hugs himself "How… how do I tell mom and dad… I never came out but you and our sisters know and it isn't a secret… but mom and dad are never here… they don't know…"

Chiba rubs his head "It's okay. I have to tell them I might be bi. So you're not alone."

Tadashi nods with a light blush "Right… but I'm scared… what if-"

"Tadashi. It's alright…"

Skip to dinner

Chiba leads Sugaya and Hayami down stairs and when they get to the bottom they're greeted by the youngest sibling.

Senna "Ryuu-nii! This's my boyfriend! Kazou!"

A boy her age smiles innocently holding Senna's hand "H-hello."

Ryuu's vein pops 'I'm gonna kill this brat.' "Nice to meet you Kazou. I'm Ryūnosuke. Senna's brother who is trained very well in combat so if you- mmph!!"

Hayami smiles while Sugaya covers Chiba's mouth.

Hayami "He's very protective. I'm Hayami Rinka."

Sugaya nods "Sugaya Sōsuke. We're Ryūnosuke's friends from school."

Senna smiles and waves at both of them "So you two are the ones my brother is dating?"

All three blushed simultaneously before shaking their heads no.

Chiba "These are my best friends, Senna. I told you I'm not dating anyone."

Sugaya looked away at that and Hayami looked down. They both felt a pang in their heart at the words 'best friends' .

Sugaya nervously laughs "Well shouldn't we all head to the dinner table?"

Chiba nods "Yes, let's go"

The dates all follow the Chibas into the dining room before sitting in the chairs.

Haruka comes in with two plates setting them down "Ryuu can you either get the boys or help me with food?"

Chiba nods standing back up "Sen? Can you go get Tadashi and Hitoko?"

She nods leaving to get them while Chiba goes into the kitchen.

Once everyone is there with food.

Haruka smiles "I wasn't sure what everyone likes."

Katsuki "It's amazing! Your cooking is amazing! Think I can get the recipe for those cookies? They're the best!"

She winks putting a finger to her lips "Family secret."

Tsukki "Do wish you woulda made those cookies while we're home…"

All four siblings sink a little remembering that.

Rukia 'They leave tonight…'

Chiba 'Don't get close…'

Tadashi 'Will they be back?'

Senna 'I hope they come back for Ryuu-nii's graduation ceremony…'

Each of their dates notice the subtle changes in their partners.

Katsuki 'Right… they don't know when they'll be back. It's been hard on these guys… do their dates know? Hitoko does for sure.' He glances at them.

Kazou didn't notice anything. Sugaya and Hayami exchanged a look.

Sugaya and Hayami have the same thought 'Be there for him… that's the job of the best friend…'

Rukia quickly snapped back to normal being used to this "Anyways? How's everyone been?"

Katsuki "How's Kunigigaoka junior high doing these days?"

Tadashi nods still slightly affected "Normal. A lot of weird rumors and pressure."

Hitoko nods "Just saying? E-3 doesn't sound all that bad. What ever since Ryuu went there he's been actually thriving."

Chiba shrugs "I guess E-3 isn't that bad. But that doesn't mean you can stop trying and drop there. I mean it. I'm gonna be harder on you both to keep good grades."

Hitoko and Tadashi sulks "Yes Ryuu(-nii)…"

Sugaya shrugs "You still gotta time."

Hayami nods "Don't slack."

Hitoko smiles "Don't worry! I don't like mountain climbing enough to do it everyday! And I'll make sure Dashi doesn't drop either. Leave it to me!"

Tadashi rolls his eyes "Worry about yourself Hito-chan

Tsukki smiles "Glad you're dynamic hasn't changed at all. Hitoko, you and Katsuki are still taking care of these guys right?"

Katsuki nods "Of course sir. However I do believe that these four are more than capable of taking care of themselves."

Hitoko "But of course we still keep an eye on them! Now we have help!"

Haruka nods "Right? Kazou, Sugaya, and Hayami."

Tsukki takes a bite of his food "Don't mind me asking? But what actually is the relationship there? Hitoko and Tadashi have been best friends forever. Katsuki's been Rukia's close friend since the start of middle school?"

Senna smiles "Actually that's what we all wanted to talk about!"

She holds up her and Kazou's hands showing them linked "Kazou's my boyfriend!"

Haruka "Oh!"

Tsukki pales "What…"

Rukia laughs nervously "Okay we're starting this now… um… and Katsuki's mine…"

Haruka "That's nice. I'm glad we got to know this before we left."

Tsukki "My girls are grown up!!! My sons you okayed this?!?!"

Chiba crosses his arms "Katsuki has been more of a father for us than you have. So yes. I'm okay with him. Kazou you're on thin ice!"

Tsukki felt the jab but doesn't retaliate knowing he's right.

Kazou pouts "Yes Ryūnosuke-san…"

Rukia sends a glare to her brother "Ryuu. May we have a word alone."

He sighs "Fine fine. I'll be quiet."

Haruka laughs nervously "So how long have you guys been together?"

Senna "A week!"

Rukia starts counting on her fingers "Just passed 4 year anniversary."

Tsukki's jaw drops a little "And we're just finding out?! Tadashi! Ry!! Why didn't you ever say anything!!!"

Chiba smirks and Tadashi shrugs "Didn't wanna."

Haruka "Well still thank you for telling us. Ryuu? Hayami's your girlfriend right? And Sugaya your best friend? Tadashi how come you didn't bring your girlfriend?"

Tsukki nods "Right?"

Tadashi blushes "I- I don't have a girlfriend… I am dating someone though… Hito-chan and I have been together since a week before the moon exploded…"

Tsukki "You're gay?!"

Tadashi sinks and Hitoko looks at him concerned before looking quietly at his plate.

Haruka "Oh…"

Chiba clenches his fist "What is there a problem with that? I'm bi and poly."

Tsukki "You're what?"

Chiba smirks and his friends notice his change.

Hayami 'Abort?'

Sugaya 'This's either gonna be really good or really bad I can't tell… Hayami? Shit she looks just as lost!!'

Haruka "That's amazing! Tadashi, Ryūnosuke I know it must've been hard for you two to find identities for yourself. We still love you the same."

Tadashi lights up and Chiba relaxes a little. The two sisters sigh relieved and smile. The dates all looked relieved too.

Tsukki "I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this… Rukia? You and Katsuki have been together for 4 years. Ryūnosuke? You I'm guessing are dating both Hayami and Sugaya? Tadashi? You're dating Hitoko? And Senna, my baby girl, is dating Kazou??"

They all look at each other.

Rukia "Yeah?"

Tadashi "Pretty much?"

Senna "Yup!"

Chiba sinks a little "Y- yes…"

Sugaya and Hayami both blush being shot in the heart at his answer.

Haruka laughs "Wonderful! I'm so relieved to have you guys there for my children! They're quite the handful."

Tsukki nods "At least Ryūnosuke has two people to make sure he stays in line."

Chiba growls "You-"

Sugaya "With all due respect sir. Ryūnosuke is more than capable of taking care of not only himself but his siblings as well."

Tsukki raises an eyebrow "Yeah I know he puts them above all else. Which is why he needs someone to look after him. Make sure he gets back on the right path."

Hayami "He never strayed from it."

Chiba blushes a little "That's enough…"

Haruka "R-right!! Sugaya, Hayami tell us more about yourselves? Your family's?

Sugaya "Ah well… I have an older sister. She's a first year in college. Switched majors so many times not sure what she does! Haha! My parents are pretty chill tho. Don't really care that I'm in the end class and encourage my art."

Haruka "That's wonderful. Hayami?"

Hayami averts her gaze "Only child. My mom works a lot."

"And your dad?"

She shrugs "Dunno. I haven't talked to him in years."

Chiba "Understand how that feels."

Tsukki sighs "Ry can we not do this at the dinner table."

Rukia growls standing up "Please excuse us."

She grabs Chiba and pulls him away.

It's silent.

Kazou "Um… am I missing something?"

Haruka smiles "It's nothing. So tell us about yourself?"

Kazou starts talking.

Katsuki silently excuses himself and motions for Hitoko, Hayami, and Sugaya to follow.

The three nod following him to the front yard.

Katsuki "I'm sorry…"

Hayami "Why?"

Sugaya "What do you mean?"

Hitoko sighs "I've been around this family my whole life… Ryuu's never really gotten along well with Tsukki. Katsuki's been here for 5 years and is very well aware of how things are."

Katsuki looks at the crescent moon "I found out quickly and how each saw their father. Ryuu…" he shakes his head "It didn't take all that long for me to become a real father figure to him. It was sad… the first time I saw his eyes he was crying cause they reminded him…"

Hitoko "Tadashi knows that Ryuu tries to fulfill the father role while Rukia attempts to fulfill the mother role too."

Katsuki laughs a little "Tadashi and Ryuu have both called me 'dad' on accident. Senna actually asked if she could!"

Sugaya "Chiba… hides his eyes because they're like Tsukki's… right?"

The two nod.

Hayami "Chiba just wants to protect his siblings…"

Hitoko nods "Not sure just them. He goes out of his way to protect me too."

Katsuki nods "He offered to fight someone that was giving me a hard time before… Ryuu means well. But…" he looks at the two "You three aren't actually dating. Yet. But still… please take care of him…"

Both nod

Hayami "Chiba's my partner. Not romantically speaking. But he's still my partner. He has my back and I have his."

Sugaya shrugs "Chiba's pretty reckless. But I can shut him down pretty easily and stop him from doing anything that goes against moral compass."

Hitoko sweats "Um… Ryuu's moral compass is a roulette wheel…"

Sugaya nods "It's a start. He has some standards. I'm trying."

Katsuki laughs "That's true. C'mon. 'Kia should be done talking sense into Ryuu."

While that happen

Chiba and Rukia go to Rukia's room.

Rukia rubs her temples "Ryuu. Please. They leave tonight. Can't you just be nice?"

Ryuu sighs throwing himself on her bed "I'm trying! But this whole thing is testing me. Katsuki's been more of a father to me than our actual dad! And dad is trying to act like-"

"A dad?"

"Yes!"

She sits beside him "Ryunosuke. We just need to deal with him tonight. He and mom both leave at sunrise..."

He nods, sitting up "Sunrise…."

Rukia grabs his hand "We're strong Ryuu. Let's go back?"

Chiba squeezes her hand "Yeah… lets go…"

They get back and sit down.

Rukia "Hm? Where's Katsuki, Hitoko, Sugaya, and Hayami?"

Tadashi "They went to talk."

Chiba "Talk? Katsuki and Hitoko aren't telling Sugaya and Hayami about everything right?"

Tadahi shrugs unsure what they were planning.

A moment later the dates come back inside and take their seats.

Katsuki "Sorry about that. We wanted to talk to Sugaya and Hayami a bit."

Hitoko nods "Ryuu's like a brother to us both. Need to make sure we approved of them hehe!"

The rest of dinner goes by without many problems.

After dinner…

Chiba and his two dates go up to his room silently.

Sugaya gulps "Chiba?"

Chiba turns to the two of them and bows "I'm sorry…"

Sugaya and Hayami look at each other

Hayami puts her hand on her partner "Chiba. Are you alright?"

He stands straight again "Yeah… they leave tonight… I'll be fine."

Sugaya grabs his arm "If you wanna talk… we're both here…"

Chiba smiles a little.

Sugaya adds with a wink "We are your date mates after all~"

Chiba heats up "Dont- don't get the wrong idea! I'm so sorry about saying that! I just- Tadashi and Hitoko- Dad looked like he didn't accept it- I had to- I'll clear things up!"

Hayami "Don't worry about it. You wanted to protect Tadashi and Hitoko."

He nods completely red and silent.

Sugaya gulps letting go and putting his hands in his pockets "Um… what if… what if you don't correct them…?"

The snipers look at him shocked and confused. Sugaya has a shy blush.

Chiba "What- What are you saying Sugaya…"

Sugaya laughs "Gotcha! It was a joke! Correct them or not. If you do it's only gonna be more embarrassing. If you don't it's a middle finger to Tsukki mostly." 'I DIDNT MEAN TO SAY THAT OUT LOUD FUCK!!!'

Hayami nods "He has a point. If you correct them they're gonna ask why you said that."

Chiba looks away completely red "I- I suppose- um- I won't- I won't correct them- next time if they ask- I'll just- I'll just say we broke up and leave it at that."

Hayami nods "Okay." 'What if we were really…'

Sugaya "Best option" 'He's way too cute…'

Chiba 'What if the three of us…'

All sit in awkward silence for a moment…

Sugaya stands up "Er? I should- I should get going aha… um…"

Hayami nods "Me too."

Sugaya gestures to the clothes they're wearing "We should change back?"

Chiba blushes checking both out glad his eyes are hidden "It's- it's fine- just give them back another time or something-"

Hayami grabs her clothes and puts them in her school bag "Alright."

Sugaya nods doing the same looking closely at Chiba 'Flushed cheeks. Playing with fingers. I can feel his gaze on… me…? Chiba… could you maybe…'

Chiba gulps standing up "I'll- I'll walk you two out-"

The three go back downstairs and to the doorway.

Haruka "You two are leaving already?"

Sugaya nods "Yeah I gotta get home."

Hayami nods "My mom will get worried."

Tsukki smiles "Hope to see you again. Please take care of my son."

Chiba clicks his tongue, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Sugaya puts a hand on Chiba's shoulder "You can count on us. Bye Ryūnosuke~" he plants a quick kiss on his cheek going to the door then turns back.

Hayami pulls Chiba down a little "See ya at school, Ryūnosuke." She places a soft kiss on the side of his mouth.

Chiba blushes with a wobbly smile as the two leave "B- bye…"

Katsuki and Rukia look at each other and share a silent laugh.

Katsuki "You wanna talk to him or should I?"

Rukia leans against him "Come over tomorrow. I'll handle what I can. But there's a few things he'd rather talk to a guy about…"

Katsuki wraps an arm around her "Alright."

3am…

Sugaya's hunched over his sketchbook listening to music with headphones on.

"Drink all night, never sleep; You say, "Go," I won't leave; I love you, you love me; Butnotin the sameway; Rip my heart out and leave; Onthe floor, watch me bleed; I love you, you love me; But not in the same way"

He smiles softly looking at his sketch. Sugaya kisses Chiba's neck leaving the marks while Hayami kisses Chiba on his lips. Chiba has one hand on Hayami's waist and one on Sugaya's shoulder.

Sugaya sighs "I love you, you love me; but not in the same way…"

A tear falls down his cheeks and he wipes it away climbing out his window sneaking out.

He gets a few blocks away and stops at a house and takes out his phone calling someone.

"Mmm… Sugaya?"

Sugaya "Unlock your window."

"Nggghh… it's like 4am…"

"3:40. Just unlock it."

"Mkay…"

A moment later Sugaya's climbing through the window and looking at his friend.

Okajima rubs his eyes tired "Mmm What?"

Sugaya sighs "I'm in love with Chiba."

Okajima eyes open fully finally awake "Oh shit"

Sugaya sheds a tear "Please don't tell anyone. I want him to be happy. But I want him to be happy with me too. I don't want to ruin my friendship with him nor Hayami."

Okajima opens his arms to give Sugaya a hug. Sugaya hugs him back letting his tears fall fully now.

Sugaya "He's my friend. Shouldn't feel this way…"

Okajima "You don't choose who to love…"

Sugaya clings to his shorter friend in pain for a while. Sugaya finally lets go with tears still in his eyes and doesn't look at Okajima.

Okajima looks at him worried "Sugaya…?"

Sugaya sits down on Okajima's bed "I don't know what to do anymore…"

Okajima sits beside him "How long have you…"

"Second year…" Sugaya takes a breath "I had a crush on him during second year… it went away for awhile- well it wasn't as strong and I was able to ignore it- but seeing him with Hayami… the way he talks about her… his smile… protectiveness… Hayami makes Chiba really happy… but it hurts…"

Okajima nods "I get that… I was the same with Hayami. I've liked her since first year. I genuinely liked her. She didn't smile or talk much but when she did… I could feel my heart leap… then with the assassination I thought…"

Sugaya finishes "Thought you'd have a chance… but then those two became a duo and fell in love…"

Okajima nods "Guess we both got shot in the heart by a sniper…"

Sugaya laughs a little "Yeah… I really want them to be happy. I don't wanna ruin our friendship…"

This is our longest chapter yet. I felt giddy just writing it. I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter.
