Chapter One

Almost everything had been peaceful the months following the Coronation. Mal and Ben are happily still together. Making time to hang out and go to the Enchanted Lake for picnics whenever they can. Evie was starting her own business. Designing and sewing clothes for the royal classmates. Under the company name Evie 4 Hearts. Evie and Doug became official when she started her business. To the surprise of no one. Carlos and Jay were still playing Tourney. Jay continuing to be MVP. Carlos spent his downtime with Hadley. Clocking in the hours on Crown of Duty. Working as a unit late into the night almost every night. Hadley finally caught up in her academics, now being in the same classes as Carlos. Giving the two friends more chances to hang out and talk when Hadley isn't in Arendale with Elyse. Helping her girlfriend with her royal duties.

One afternoon, the VKs all got a mysterious message in various ways. Carlos got an email, Jay got a note in his gym bag, Evie got a comment on an instaroyal post, and Mal got a text. Hadley got the message only minutes after returning to school. Having been in Arendale to learn more about the kingdom. Finding the note in the game case for Mario Party. Within seconds of reading the note, she texts Carlos. "Did you get a strange message?"

Carlos was in Mal and Evie's dorm when he saw the message. "Hadley got the message too. Should I tell her to meet us in here?" the white-haired boy asks, looking up at Mal from his seat on the floor at the foot of Mal's bed.

"She's back? I thought she would be back here tomorrow night," Mal comments as she pulls out her phone and scrolls in her contacts until she finds the one named Flamey with a picture of a blue flame. "I'll give her a call."

Hadley was looking over the lock on her and Elyse's dorm door. Trying to see how the lock was picked while she and her snowflake were out of town. She was snapped out of her concentration when she suddenly felt her phone buzz in her pocket. After a minute of patting her legs to find her phone, she fishes it out of her pocket. Quickly unlocking her iphone so she can answer. "Sup?"

"Get on over here. We all got that message," Mal says once she hears her little sister's voice. Hanging up before Hadley could even respond. "She's coming."

"Guess I'm on my way," Hadley sighs as she stares at the disconnected screen of her phone. Before heading down the hallway to Mal and Evie's room, she goes over to her nightstand and grabs her golden room key. Pocketing it with her phone after locking the door behind her after she exits the blue room. Passing through the wooden hallway. Counting down room numbers until she reaches the last one. Room One. The teen knocked on the door before putting her hands in the black pockets of her black skinny jeans. Giving Mal a tired smile when the older teen opens the door. "You have summoned me."

"Come sit," the fairy says as Hadley walks in. Closing the door behind her younger sister. Sitting down next to her on the purple clad bed. "What could this message mean?"

"Maybe something happened with out parents? We should check," Carlos says from his spot on the floor. Dude in his lap, wagging his tail thanks to all the pets he is getting from his boy. "Evie, do you have his magic mirror?"

Evie nods and opens the drawer in her nightstand. Underneath a stack of chemistry notes, a small, gold framed, broken mirror rested on a red velvet pillow. She picks it up before closing the drawer. "Magic mirror, oh so fair, show me Hades' lair," the princess rhymes. The clear glass becomes cloudy, but never clears to show Hades in the Underworld. It doesn't work for any of their parents. "Do you think they escaped?"

All five VKs glance at each other, Jay, Carlos, Evie, and Hadley all look to Mal. Awaiting her plan. "We need to get to the Isle somehow," the purple-haired leader states after a moment.

"We can use the limo! We just need to get ahold of the keys," Carlos says before looking up at Hadley, who was laying down on the bed that Carlos is sitting in front of. Head dangling off the bed next to her white-haired friend.

"Jordan's lamp. If you wish for something in there, you get it," Hadley suggests as she pokes Carlos' nose with an innocent little grin. "Hi."

Jay grins as he leans against the bedposts of Evie's bed. "I'll be in Jordan's lamp tomorrow for an interview. It will look weird if we all leave at once. Just Hadley makes sense, she's gone constantly already."

"Audrey and Lonnie are constantly leaving to visit their families. I can make two of their dresses and we can disguise ourselves as them. Carlos can be a guard and Jay can be a driver," Evie suggests before running over to her sewing machine and fabrics. Starting to measure out what she needs for two more dresses. Not even waiting for anyone to agree or disagree with her plan.

Mal nods before standing on up and walking to the door. "Don't tell anyone about this. They're our parents. We will deal with this issue," she says as the boys and Hadley go to leave. "Hadley, you stay."

The blue haired teen hangs her head as the boys walk past her. "Whatever it is you think I did… Jay did it," she says after Mal closes and locks the door. The purple haired teen leads her little sister back to the bed. The sisters sitting down next to each other.

"You can't tell Elyse why you're leaving this time. She can't know that dad may have escaped," Mal says putting her hand on her little sister's shoulder. Knowing that the now fifteen-year-old would be tempted to tell her own True Love.

When Evie heard Mal refer to Hades as dad, the blue-haired fashionista turned around to face the sisters. "Mal… your father is Hades? You never told us that," she comments as she leans her crossed arms on the back of her chair. "Were you ever going to tell us?"

Mal just shakes her head as she stands back up. Hand remaining on Hadley's shoulder. "You can't tell the boys. Hades… wasn't the best dad to me. He left me with mother, guess my life wasn't in enough danger."

"Leave it to be, Evie. When the time comes, we will tell them," Hadley says as she gets up and walks to the door. "When the time is right," she repeats before leaving the room.
