Kanami wakes up, and a smile grows on her lips when she sees the events of the previous night were not just a beautiful dream. Laid in her arms, Kanami sees Hiyori resting her head on her chest as their naked bodies entwine themselves. The Minoseki Toji feels her breath being stolen as she spies on her lovers relaxed sleeping face. "I don't think I have ever seen her this relaxed before," Kanami smiles. For as long as she has known the Heijou Toji has always kept bottling everything up and trying to bear the weight of the world on her shoulders. Much to Kanami's annoyance Hiyori rarely lets her share the burden despite Kanami's countless promises to bare half the weight.
"At least I helped her relax last night," Kanami happily smirks replaying the images she burned into her memory of the event of last night. Everything sound she draws from her lover's lips and every new facial expression Kanami store in the back of her mind will stay with her for the rest of the Minoseki Toji's life. Closing her eyes again and hugging Hiyori tight to her body Kanami drifts off to sleep with one wish on her mind. "I wish this moment could last forever."
Meanwhile back on the grounds of Minoseki Academy, the young Mai Yanase is having a completely different morning as two Toji wearing the uniforms of Renpu Girls' School bust into her room breaking the lock on her door. The president of the academy Ema Hashima follows behind them trying to get the two intruders to calm down before they cause any more damage while simultaneously apologising to Mai. The president tries to talk to girls down but can do little to stop them as they ransack Mai's dorm room.
"I'm sorry Mai," Ema says giving up on stopping the Renpu Toji's search and stepping back next to the bed where her student still sits. "They showed up with orders from the Bureau, allowing them to search the rooms of Kanami's friends and the school grounds so I couldn't stop them."
Mai can only blink still not fully awake until one of her uninvited guests approaches her, and before Mai can even react to her presence, the Renpu Toji wraps a hand around her neck and pull the now wide awake girl to her feet. Mai's eyes widen as she struggles to breathe and break the girls gasp on her, but the Renpu Toji is too strong for her. Helpless and at the other girl's mercy, all Mai can do is claw at her assailant's hand. Ema tries to step forward and pull the girls apart, but the second Renpu Toji bars her way.
"Where is Kanami Etou?" The girl asks not bothering to cover up the anger in her voice.
"I don't know," Mai answers only for the girl holding her to tighten her grip around Mai's throat cutting off the Monoseki Toji's oxygen supply.
"I suggest you stop lying and tell me what I want to know," The girl warns as her free hand goes for the hilt of her Okatana.
"Release her at once!" Ema quickly comes to Mai's aid finally able to get past the second Toji. "You have permission to search, but that doesn't mean you can threaten my students."
"Traitors don't deserve mercy," The girl hiss before releasing Mai who falls to her knees gasping for air. "I suggest you come to your senses and turn off those two traitors before you both are considered accomplices to their crimes."
Ema watches the two Renpu leave before dropping to her knees. "What is Yukari thinking in allowing Yukina to act this aggressively?" Ema wonders as she checks on her student's condition.
"Are you okay Mai?" Ema asks the girl still struggling to regain her breath.
"I… I'm f… fine…" Mai manages to pant out between breaths.
"Don't worry, I'll Make sure they won't lay a finger on you again," Ema assures her as she reaches into her pocket and pulls out her phone. "First they threaten to arrest Mihono, and now they assault Mai. Yukina can't be allowed to get away with this."
One hour after receiving a call from Ema the doors to the command room of Special Sword Administration Bureau burst open and Akane Origami stormes into the room. For everyone present, they will remember the sight of the normal kind-hearted and caring women looking angry for the rest of their lives. The fire in Akane's eyes makes everyone flinch despite the fact that most of the people in the room are veterans either from the ranks of the Toji or those of Special Ritual Riot Squad. No one has ever seen her like this and when Sana Maniwa and Yukina Takatsu see their long time friend approaching neither of them can recall a time when they saw Akane upset to this extent.
Sana feels sweat start to roll down her back at the sight of her friend and Yukina finds herself feeling more than fear in her heart once Akane reacher her and slaps the Renpu president. The sound of the slap echos through the quiet room as everyone watches in silence as Yukina is knocked out of her chair by the force of the hit. Yukina can do nothing but shake on the floor and stare up at a person she never thought was capable of feeling something like anger let alone be so terrifying. The pain in her cheek is nothing compared to the fear in Yukina's heart. Meanwhile, everything else in the room is so silent you could hear a pin drop. Even Sana finds herself to stunned to move in the wake of Akane's anger fulled attack.
"Do you know what your students are doing right now?" Akane finally asks the woman who's still shaking on the floor. "I have received several phone calls from not only Minoseki Academy and the Heijou Institute but also from residents and business nearby complaining about your girls."
"I… I'm sure I…" Yukina can barely form words as she finds herself more scared then she has ever been in her life.
"I don't care about your excuses, just get them under control," Akane tells her. "I already have received countless bills for property damage and you students not only threatened people but hospitalised a store owner so I can be expecting to receive their hospital bill by the end of the day. Get your students in line before they go too far."
With that said, Akane leaves the room just as she entered it, causing everyone in her way to jump aside. Right, no one wants to cross her and end up like the president of Renpu Girls' School while the command room remains silent. It takes several minutes before Yukina can even find the strength to pick herself up off of the floor and even longer for Sana to get things back in the room to be running as they were before that incident. Yukina meanwhile excuses herself with a big red mark on her cheek and her hands still visibly shaking.
Hiyori moves to get out of bed, or at least she tries too, but Kanami's arm around her waist makes any attempt to escape from the warmth to be futile. The more Hiyori tries to pull away. The more Kanami tugs her back in. Finally, with a sigh, Hiyori ceases movements.
"Come on Kanami we need to get up," Hiyori tells her lover feeling Kanami's chest press up against her back.
"Just five more minutes," Kanami whispers her hot breath tickling the back of the Heijou Toji's neck.
"You said that five minutes ago," Hiyori points out. "We can't spend all day in bed Kanami."
"Spending all day in bed with you doesn't sound so bad Hiyori," Kanami mutters making Hiyori blush as memories of last night reply themselves in her mind.
"Fine," Hiyori gives in. "Five more minutes but then we are getting up."
Hiyori can feel the Minoseki Toji smile against her neck before the light pressure of warmth as her lover's lips gentle plant a single kiss. "Am I ever going to get up today?" Hiyori wonders, finding her will to leave the warmth of her girlfriend fade with each passing second as Kanami places several more kisses on her neck and shoulder before snuggling up behind her. But the ringing of the building's phone makes it so that Hiyori has her chance to escape and Kanami has no choice but to let her go so she can answer the call.
"Mai," Kanami says as she picks up her phone only for Hiyori to freeze when she sees Kanami's face pale. "What's wrong? They didn't hurt you, did they? Okay, I understand?" Kanami hangs up the call to turn to her lover. "We have trouble."
In a dark alley near Minoseki Academy, two of members of Yukina's Special Reaction Force 8 growl in frustration, as they schools president, scolds them. The girl's eyes glow brightly as their anger grows and the noro in their blood cries out to spill hers. All the while, the clearly shaken leader of Renpu Girls' School continues to berate them telling the girls that everything they are doing is wrong and making them feel like failures.
"You can't go around hurting and threatening to kill people," Yukina tells them.
"But you said that traitors deserve no mercy and those who harbour them should be treated the same," The leader of the special reaction force replies clenching her fist. "We are only following your orders."
"I'm changing your orders," Yukina states. "You are going to far, and you are all about to destroy everything I worked so hard to build up. Stop with the death threats and assaults that is an order."
Yukina hangs up, and the two Toji curse her for putting the blame squarely on them. She was the one who taught them to behave that way. Both girls remember the way she would strip them of any ounce of mercy they once possessed all to serve this purpose. They were the ones who were supposed to kill everyone in their path to keep Origami's in power, and now their leader is making them think all the pain they endured over the years was for nothing.
"Stupid bitch," The leader mutters. "Lets spread…"
She doesn't get to finish as both girls are hit with black darts that knock them to the floor and paralyse their bodies. Out of the shadows, they can see the boots of a man approaching before everything turns to black.
