Akashi wanted to end it all. His emotions, his thoughts, his job, his family...his life. Twenty-seven years old and the depressed, overworked red haired man was ready to take a nap for maybe 10 years. His life was blessed. He was a very privileged man and call him selfish if you will; he simply was not happy. Akashi was grateful for everything in his life; heck, he was grateful for even having two hands he can use and two legs he can walk with. But something in him prevented him from feeling the happiness he had.
The redhead worked as a young and bright business man and he lived with his friends: Aomine, Kagami, Kise, Midorima, and Murasakibara. It was much easier to live with his friends, who were very accepting and open to new things, compared to his more traditional family.
The group of friends split the rent together and always helped out with the chores. Usually it was Murasakibara and Akashi who cooked with Kise or Midorima helping out occasionally. Aomine and Kagami were a mess and could only do laundry properly so they were assigned to those chores. Things went pretty smoothly inside the household.
The only problem was Akashi's unhappiness and the rest of his friends knew that the redhead always seemed permanently unhappy. They all did their best to support their friend but they also knew that something was simply missing from Akashi's life.
It was a cold winter day when it happened. There were blizzard warnings and Akashi was walking back home from the train station. It wasn't a long walk but the chilly wind bit at his cheeks as he walked making it feel a lot longer than usual. The redhead shivered as he thought of going home and taking a hot bath and having a hot meal. However, when he got near the entrance to his apartment, he saw a small pile on the ground. A pile which looked very similar to a body.
Unfortunately, it wasn't unusual to see homeless people laying at the entrance of apartment buildings in hopes to get someone to help and though Akashi and his friends tried their best to help people by offering them food or money, it was hard to help everyone. The redhead walked past the person and was about to enter the building when something, he has no idea what, possessed him to turn around and kneel before the body.
The first thing Akashi did was call out and then check for breathing or a pulse. The redhead was relieved to feel the person breathing. It was very faint breathing, but the stranger was definitely breathing, which was always a good sign. The redhead gently turned the body over to see it was a young man. His skin was covered in grime and his hair looked black from the dirt. Akashi pressed down slowly on different parts of his body. The boy whimpered as the redhead pressed on his ribs and when Akashi uncovered the area, there was a large gash that was bleeding.
"This is worse than I thought..." The redhead muttered and then his body moved automatically. Akashi quickly took off his coat and wrapped it around the small body. He then scooped up the lighter than normal body and ran into his apartment making sure to avoid touching and putting pressure on his injuries.
When Akashi entered the room, he barked out orders, not giving his friends a chance to take in what was happening.
"Ryouta, prepare a hot bath please. Shintaro, can you check this boy's condition? Atsushi, what can we make that's warm and filling? Taiga, Daiki, can you please set up my bed with warm blankets for this person to lie on?"
Everyone took in the scene and then got to work. The redhead put the boy down on the couch and began to remove his clothes. When Akashi got the tattered shirt off of the boy's body, he allowed Midorima to check the stranger's condition.
"He's lost a lot of blood. His body is probably shutting down because of that. We need to clean and close this wound first. Second, we need to warm him up with some cozy blankets. We could give him a bath later, this wound is the main problem." The green haired man said as he got to work.
Though the boy seemed unconscious, Midorima recited everything he was doing just to make sure if the boy was conscious, he would know that he is safe.
The green haired doctor cleaned the wound and stitched it up efficiently and quickly. Afterwards, he used a warm wet towel to try and clean his body. Once the grime and dirt were washed away from the stranger's body, they noticed that they had brought in a pale, blue haired hybrid.
Small ears poked out from his hair and a tail was wrapped around his torso.
"A hybrid..." Kise gasped, "Those are for the rich, are they not? They're meant to be partners or servants. What's he doing here?"
Kagami shook his head, "I don't know but he probably has one hell of a story to tell judging by his appearance."
Akashi lifted the boy as if he was lighter than a feather and then gently placed him on his bed to rest. They all sat in the living room in silence, not knowing what to do with the hybrid sleeping in the other room.
Kise was the first to speak up, "Can he stay with us? He doesn't have a home..."
Aomine casually put his arm around the blonde's waist and mumbled, "That's not our decision to make Ryouta. We'll figure things out when he wakes up. We just need to do what we can for now."
Murasakibara nodded in agreement, "If he does decide to stay it won't be a problem, we have the space and the money to take care of another person. Our family will just keep getting bigger and bigger."
"His wounds are strange." Midorima said suddenly, "He's been abused a lot. I don't think he's been on the streets for a long time judging by the fact that he's still alive. But his body is covered in scars, meaning old wounds. He was probably abused by his owner... And also beat on the streets."
Kagami winced at the thought of the poor boy being constantly abused throughout his life. Akashi sighed and dismissed everyone, "It's been a long day, let's rest up and discuss this again in the morning."
The night was long and cold, Akashi slept on the couch in the living room since the hybrid was snugly tucked into his bed. The redhead had trouble with falling asleep and stayed up for the majority of the night before dozing off into a light sleep.
The blue haired boy woke with a start as if being brought back to life. He jumped up and took in his surroundings. The room was unfamiliar and so was the scent. No...scents, there was more than one person living in the building. He panicked, thinking that he had been kidnapped and slowly made his way to what he hoped to be the exit. The hybrid passed by multiple rooms, one with a snoring tan boy with a slim blond sleeping on his chest, one with a red haired man, one with a green haired man and a purple haired man sleeping on opposite ends of the room, yet there was still another scent that he couldn't find.
That's five scents out of six... where's the last one? He thought to himself as he quietly made his way through what seemed to be the kitchen.
Akashi was having a nightmare. He dreamed of his childhood and how his alcoholic father would constantly beat him and his mother. He dreamed of his friends and losing them completely. He dreamed of everything he hated.
The hybrid heard a wince coming from the living room and quickly hid. However, when he realized that there was no threat, his curiosity brought him to move closer to whoever had made the noise. The blue haired boy peeked over the edge of the couch and saw a distraught redhead. He stood in fear for he worried that this was one of the people who kidnapped him, but he couldn't look away. The scent of the redhead was intense; it was warm and inviting, yet cold and sad. And the hybrid found himself climbing onto the couch to comfort Akashi who was in cold sweat from the nightmare.
The blue haired boy rested himself over the redhead's chest in hopes to apply some comforting pressure and all of the sudden, the desire to leave disappeared. Kuroko fell asleep to the comforting scent of a complete stranger and even to him, it was terrifying.
When morning came, Midorima was the first to wake up and felt the need to check up on his patient. He was shocked to see that the hybrid wasn't in the bed and went to tell Akashi but felt immediate relief when he saw that the hybrid had just made his home on the redhead's chest. The green haired boy smiled and decided to leave them be as he started to prepare breakfast with the help of Murasakibara.
Kagami, Aomine, and Kise were the next to wake up. They walked into the kitchen, rubbing their eyes and yawning.
"Is Akashicchi still sleeping?" The blond asked, slightly surprised that the redhead was sleeping in, considering he woke up like at the crack of dawn every single day.
Midorima smiled and put a finger to his lips as if to shush them. Then he pointed towards the couch to tell them to go see Akashi.
The three boys peeked over the couch as quietly as they can and saw probably the most adorable sight they've ever seen. As the group of friends set the table for breakfast, Akashi stirred awake to a warm presence on top of him.
The redhead looked down to see their guest sleeping comfortably. Akashi gently moved his hand up to the hybrid's striking blue hair and let his fingers run through. The hybrid slowly opened his eyes and caught Akashi's gaze. They stared at each other for a while as the universe expanded in each other's eyes and then the blue haired boy was quickly on his feet.
"S-sorry...um, my name is Kuroko Tetsuya. I don't have anything to repay you with unless you want my body I won't be of much use to you." The hybrid said nervously.
Akashi was still in a daze from being completely lost in the other's eyes and when he snapped out of it, he finally registered what the blue haired boy said.
"What? No! No, no, no. We didn't bring you here for sexual favors. We just wanted to help you." The redhead responded frantically.
"Um...why?" The hybrid asked as if that was the most unbelievable thing he had heard.
Kise approached slowly and said, "You're hurt and you were also alone outside on a really cold night. We weren't going to let you die out there. So we brought you in and Midorimacchi fixed you up...kinda, he did his best."
"Speaking of which," Midorima started, "we should change your bandages after you eat breakfast."
Kuroko shook his head, "I can't stay here. I need to leave... I can't invade on your lives like this."
Aomine scoffed, "And go where, little man? Where are you going to go? It's practically a blizzard out there. You have no warm clothes, money or food."
The blue haired boy's eyes hardened, "I don't need your pity."
Akashi quickly cut in, "Look, that's not what he meant to do. He's just worried about you and he's stating facts. You're not going to get far with just what you have right now. First, let's eat breakfast. Whether you decide to leave or not is your choice, but we are all very welcome to you staying as our equal."
Kuroko calmed down a little and he let himself be led towards the kitchen table. The blue haired boy ate cautiously as if the food was a foreign thing for him and the rest of the boys were afraid to ask the wrong questions.
Eventually Kagami spoke up, "So Kuroko, how old are you? I'm 25 years old."
The blue haired boy thought hard for a minute before saying, "I think I'm in my early thirties if I did the math correctly. I don't quite remember how old I am."
"Early thirties?" Kagami said, "Wow, you're older than Akashi, he's the oldest and he's only 27. You look so young!"
Kuroko smiled weakly, "I get that a lot."
After breakfast, Midorima convinced the hybrid to take a bath. Kuroko struggled for the most part but once he sat in the warm water, he felt calm and relaxed.
The green haired man helped Kuroko wash some of the dirt and grime that they missed the night before. He also very gently cleaned his wounds again and changed the bandage.
When the blue haired boy came out of the washroom, he was wearing one of Akashi's shirts which was too big on him and Kise's boxers, which were also a bit too big. But even with the baggy clothes, Kuroko felt loved and in all honesty, he didn't want to leave at all but years of abuse made him want to quickly shy away from such kindness.
Later that evening, they all sat at the table together to discuss Kuroko's situation again.
"So Kuroko, have you ever been to a doctor to have a check-up before?" Midorima asked cautiously.
The blue haired boy shook his head, "Not that I know of. I spent most of my time in a cellar."
The entire group noticeably frowned at Kuroko's words. Being in a cellar most of the time was no way to spend a life.
Kagami was the first to speak up, "Your owner locked you in a cellar...? Was there ever a time when you were allowed out?"
"Well...yes and no." Kuroko whispered. He felt a little scared by everyone's reactions but continued to talk, "He would keep me in the cellar for when...when he wanted sex. And he would allow me to come upstairs when he invited his friends over for...the same reason."
Akashi unknowingly slammed his fist on the table in anger, shocking everyone. The blue haired boy stared with wide eyes as did everyone else. The redhead shook his head and forced a smile,
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle anyone. I'm just going to go into my office, I forgot I have some documents to attend to. Tetsuya, you can have my bed, I'll sleep on the couch tonight."
The redhead slowly stood up and calmly made his way to another room. Once he knew that the group couldn't hear him, Akashi made a few calls to try and track Kuroko's previous owners.
Kuroko felt a little timid after Akashi had stormed off, "I didn't mean to upset him..."
"Oh no no no!" Aomine exclaimed, "He's not upset with you! Akashi has some experience when it comes to abuse so I would imagine he just remembered some bad memories. He's not mad at you or anything. If anything, he worried about you. He's not the best at showing his emotions."
"Well...either way," Midorima said, "we should definitely take you in for a check-up. It'll be good for you to actually know how your body is holding up."
Kuroko's ears flattened a little in fear, "What if I don't like my doctor?"
Midorima laughed, "Don't worry, we'll find someone who you're comfortable with."
The rest of the evening went by smoothly. The group made sure to drive the conversation to lighter topics so they wouldn't scare the blue haired boy and when it was time for bed, they all made sure Kuroko was comfortable in Akashi's bed.
"Do you need any extra blankets?" Kise asked.
The blue haired boy shook his head.
"What about pillows? Or do you want someone to stay by your side?" The blond asked.
Aomine touched Kise's shoulder lightly, "I think that's enough doting, let him rest."
Kise pouted and then smiled at the hybrid, "Goodnight Kurokocchi! I hope you're feeling even better tomorrow."
Kuroko couldn't sleep. He was surrounded by a warm comforting scent yet he still felt cold and scared. In the room next door, he could faintly hear Akashi's muffled voice as he talked on the phone.
I wonder who he's talking to and what he's talking about... The blue haired boy thought to himself.
Kuroko heard the faint click of a door opening and figured that Akashi had finished his phone call and was now going to bed on the couch. The blue haired boy didn't know why but he felt drawn to the younger man. After what seemed like an hour but was actually only ten minutes, Kuroko got up and left his room.
The blue haired boy carefully peeked his head around the corner of the hall to see Akashi sitting on the couch with his head in his hands.
The redhead sighed as he rubbed his temples. Akashi dreaded going to bed. His darkest memories always resurfaced and haunted him. He slowly got up, deciding to take a sleeping pill when he made eye contact with the small blue haired boy.
Kuroko gasped and tried to hide but Akashi immediately called out to him,
"Are you alright, Tetsuya?"
The blue haired boy shivered at the sound of Akashi's voice and quickly ran off to his room.
When Kuroko didn't respond, the redhead shrugged and figured he ran back to his room in embarrassment. Cats tend to be elusive so the redhead didn't dwell on it.
Akashi took the sleeping pills and slowly drifted off to an uncomfortable sleep.
Meanwhile the blue haired boy had been pacing back and forth in Akashi's room.
I'm so embarrassed, he saw me staring at him. What am I going to do? Why am I making such a big deal out of this?
Kuroko kept pacing until he eventually grew tired and fell asleep on Akashi's bed. It was only until four in the morning when the blue haired boy woke suddenly. Kuroko blinked the sleep away and sat up on the bed.
The hybrid's ears twitched at the slightest noise and Kuroko quickly turned his head towards the sound.
I definitely think I heard someone yell just now... The blue haired boy thought as he got out of bed and made his way into the halls of the apartment.
Kuroko peeked his head around the corner once again to see Akashi sitting up on the couch hyperventilating a little.
The blue haired boy felt nervous around the other man but carefully approached him anyway. Akashi glanced at the hybrid and sighed,
"Sorry, did I wake you? This happens a lot."
"I have bad dreams too." Kuroko muttered, "It helps when there's someone there with you. I never really had anyone but I used to pretend that someone was out in the world waiting for me."
The redhead raised an eyebrow in interest, "Is that so? Tell me about it."
Kuroko sat down on the couch beside Akashi and stared out the large window in the living room that looked over the quiet city.
"There was a mirror in the cellar and a single window. A much smaller window than the one you have in this living room. I would get a few hours of sunlight in the small room and I would be able to look at my reflection in the mirror. When I was younger, the young mistress of the house always took care of me. When she left or died, to be honest I don't even know what happened anymore, the master sent me into the cellar and I guess after years of being down there, my reflection became a stranger. So I would talk to myself. I told myself that someone is out there dreaming of me. Someone is out there who finds my life worthwhile. Someone needs me. Then, I found the courage to get out of there."
"How did you get out?" The redhead asked.
The blue haired boy smiled, "I let him hurt me. I misbehaved, I tore down objects and paintings, I destroyed the cellar, I hurt his friends, I did everything to make him hate me. Until eventually he couldn't take it and he took a kitchen knife and as you can tell, he cut me a little deep. Then he threw me out. It was a stupid idea but at least I'm out of there."
Akashi stared at the hybrid, "So much could have gone wrong with that idea. What if he killed you? Then you never would have been able to meet that person who needs you."
Kuroko looked into the redhead's eyes. He felt lost in those eyes yet he felt as if he was finally found.
"But I made it out and I got to meet you..." The blue haired boy said, "and everyone else as well."
Akashi smiled, "I'm glad you think of us so highly. I thought you would run away the moment you could."
The blue haired boy hugged his legs and sighed, "That's what I thought too. But, you know, I really like it here and..." Your scent is telling me to stay "I still need to recover until I make my decision. Midorima-kun won't let me leave otherwise."
"Well...I hope you decide to stay. We would really love to have you here as our friend." Akashi said.
They both sat together in a comfortable silence until eventually Kuroko stood up, "I guess I'll go back to my room..well, your room."
Akashi grabbed the blue haired boy's wrist, "Can you stay with me?"
Both of them were blushing at this point and the blue haired boy nodded, "Sure."
The redhead moved as much as he could so that they could both squish on the couch together until they decided that it would be easiest if Kuroko just lay down on top of the other.
The blue haired boy rested his head on Akashi's chest and listened to his heart beat. The redhead rested one arm around Kuroko's waist and the other gently brushed through Kuroko's blue hair. The blue haired boy should have felt uncomfortable and awkward but he only felt peace.
The gentleness of Akashi's touch lulled him to sleep and eventually the redhead fell asleep as well.
Midorima was not surprised at all to see Akashi and Kuroko cuddled together on the couch the morning after. The green haired man already knew that there was some sort of connection between the two of them. He smiled and decided not to wake them.
Kuroko's eyes fluttered open. He had slept so well that he didn't exactly remember where he was until he heard the redhead's heart pounding against his ear. The blue haired boy smiled and nuzzled into Akashi's chest. Smells like coffee and chocolate.
Akashi's arms tightened around the blue haired boy's waist as he slowly stirred awake as well. The redhead subconsciously pet Kuroko's head until he was rubbing the hybrid's small ears. Kuroko purred as he felt his muscles completely relax under Akashi's touch.
The redhead opened his eyes and smiled. He felt happier knowing that the blue haired boy was here with him. It was as if he felt complete.
Once everyone got up, Midorima and Murasakibara took the hybrid to the doctor while everyone else went to work or school. Kuroko was so nervous that he refused to leave the car until eventually Murasakibara picked him up and took him inside.
The doctor gave the hybrid a full checkup and even gave him a few vaccines.
"So…Kuroko is fairly healthy. No diseases, no sicknesses, strong body and his wound is healing perfectly fine. There is however, some scarring in some tissue from sexual abuse. Do you by any chance know anything about his owner?"
Midorima shook his head sadly, "Nothing at all yet. We were hoping you might be able to tell us. Does he not have any kind of medical record?"
The young doctor frowned, "We don't have anything on him either which I found pretty strange…I guess since there's no one to object, you can adopt him into your family if you'd like."
The green haired man sighed, "I think my friends and I would rather have him be free if that's alright. It's his decision. We don't want to bind him to us."
"I understand, hybrids have been gaining many rights within the past few months so that's definitely a fair choice." The doctor said and then she lowered her voice a little, "There's also um…his heats. Kuroko is most definitely an omega and when I asked him he said he hasn't had a heat for over five months. So, it should be coming soon and I know that you've only met him so he may feel very uncomfortable going through his heat. I would also highly recommend that none of you engage in sexual activity with him because he needs time to heal. Is there anyone in the household who can take care of him?"
Midorima seemed shocked, "I…uh, wow um, yes! There is someone in the household who can take care of him. We can all take care of him. He's completely safe with us, I can guarantee it and if he's ever in pain I'll bring him to you."
The doctor nodded and smiled, "That's good to hear. He told me that he feels too embarrassed and shy to tell you guys about his heats but I'm sure he'll tell you some time when he starts feeling preheat symptoms."
The green haired man smiled as he looked at Murasakibara who was gently petting Kuroko's head and praising him for getting needle shots. The hybrid glowed at the praise and genuinely smiled at Murasakibara.
When the trio got home after buying Kuroko some clothes, Aomine, Kise, and Kagami were back from their university classes and they all praised and showered Kuroko with warmth and kindness for going to the doctor and getting checked up.
They cooked dinner together and Kuroko tried his best to help. He felt so happy when he was around everyone and he felt that maybe it would be alright for him to stay. In the end, the blue haired boy ended up sitting on the couch while watching everyone cook. Kuroko was able to smell Akashi's scent fading from the blankets on the couch and the blue haired boy instantly rubbed his face into the sheets trying to chase the scent.
Kuroko fell asleep on the couch completely curled up with Akashi on his mind.
When Akashi came back home an hour later, the redhead was greeted by his friends. Akashi felt a little sad when he noticed that Kuroko hadn't come to greet him and he felt a sudden fear that maybe the blue haired boy had actually decided to leave. Kagami seemed to noticed the redhead's emotions because he chuckled and then pointed towards the couch.
Akashi dropped his suit jacket and suitcase and immediately moved towards the couch where he saw Kuroko curled up with the blanket around him. The redhead smiled and crouched down in front of the hybrid.
"Tetsuya, I'm home." Akashi said as he gently shook the blue haired boy awake, "You did so well today. I heard you got a bunch of vaccines and you were very good with the doctor."
The blue haired boy whined as he was shaken awake, "Welcome home, Akashi-kun."
Kuroko nuzzled into the redhead's hand and slowly got up.
The next few days were smooth for the group. They fell into a routine with Kuroko who spent the days relaxing in the apartment and then trying to help with laundry and washing dishes. When Kuroko did laundry, he would end up folding Akashi's clothes last and falling asleep curled up against the redhead's shirts. Akashi and Kuroko moved from the couch to the redhead's bed and they slept cuddled together every night.
Akashi often came home to the hybrid napping on the bed with the redhead's shirts covering his body. Eventually, Akashi asked the hybrid, "Do I smell good?"
Kuroko's face flushed red. He wasn't trying to hide it but having the redhead ask him so bluntly made him feel shy.
"Y-yes. You do smell good."
The redhead grinned and teased the hybrid, "What do I smell like? What do the others smell like?"
The blue haired boy played with the hem of his shirt and mumbled, "Coffee and chocolate. Sometimes you smell like peppermint and when you're sad you smell like rain on pavement. The others smell like either laundry detergent or grass. That's how I know you're all nice. Bad people smell like rust."
"Hmm is that so? Am I the only one who smells different than everyone else." Akashi asked.
"Yes." Kuroko answered immediately, "You smell amazing."
Akashi blushed and was actually shocked by the blue haired boy's forward response. That night when they slept side by side, the redhead felt a little anxious. He had noticed that Kuroko's attitude and body language had been clingier these days and he was no stranger to understanding heats. Midorima had told him about what the doctor had said and that Akashi may be the most fit to take care of the hybrid when the time comes.
Kuroko was able to feel the redhead's anxiety and also felt nervous himself. He hadn't expected himself to say things so easily. He knew that his heat would start soon and he was terrified. He didn't want his new friends to hate him. The blue haired boy also knew that he would have to eventually discuss this with the group and Kuroko felt too embarrassed to say it but he wanted Akashi to stay with him.
They eventually fell asleep with their backs pressed together, both feeling a little uncertain. But that night, a single realization dawned on both of them and it raced through their thoughts continuously.
I love him.
It was that morning that Kuroko's heat hit him. The blue haired boy was restless and woke up covered in sweat from his high body temperature. The hybrid felt himself desperately needing someone but when he looked to his side, nobody was there. He felt something heavy fall in his heart.
Nobody wants me. Kuroko thought as he let out a sob. Everything hurt. The blue haired boy curled in on himself and cried. Kise, Aomine, and Kagami had found him. They were going to say goodbye before they left for school but found a crying mess.
"Kuroko?! What's wrong? Are you in pain?" Kagami exclaimed while quickly approaching the blue haired boy.
Aomine immediately started calling Midorima and Kise tried to calm the hybrid down. Kuroko kept going on about how nobody wanted him and nobody loved him and that everyone leaves him.
"Midorima, it's about Kuroko. He's sweating, flushed, crying, and he looks to be in pain. What do we do? Should we take him to the doctor?" Aomine asked.
"Call Akashi, tell him to come home immediately. Kuroko's just starting his heat. For now, make sure he's hydrated and try and get that fever to come down a little." The doctor explained and then apologized for having to hang up because he had to tend to patients.
After Aomine told Akashi to come home. The three university students did their best to take care of the hybrid.
"Hey Kurokocchi, we love you so much and we need you in our lives now, you're our family." The blond said soothingly as he gently stroked Kuroko's blue hair.
Kagami held a cold wet cloth to his forehead and Aomine brought a bunch of water bottles and snacks from the kitchen. The tanned man then took one of Akashi's dress shirts and handed it to the hybrid, hoping it would calm him a little.
Kuroko grabbed the heavenly scent and cried.
"Why isn't Akashi-kun here? Does he hate me?"
"He'll be here soon and he loves you. He loves you so so much, you don't even know how much he needs you just as much as you need him." Kagami said while changing the cloth on the blue haired boy's forehead.
It was ten minutes later that the redhead came rushing into the apartment, dropping everything near the front door. When Akashi opened the door, he dismissed the students and thanked them for taking care of Kuroko so well.
The blue haired boy shuddered at the sound of Akashi's voice and the fact that his scent was now filling the room intensely. Kuroko felt the heat within him become tame when Akashi approached and showered him with love. The blue haired boy watched as Akashi pulled his tie off and rolled up his sleeves.
He's so sexy. Kuroko thought to himself.
The redhead chuckled, "I'm glad you think that way. So nice of you to speak your thoughts, Tetsuya."
The blue haired boy blushed but instead of feeling embarrassed, he gently pulled Akashi on to the bed. Kuroko didn't really have the desire to have sex, nor did he think he would want it if he did have the desire. For now, having the redhead hug him around the waist and talk to him was enough.
When the heat hit him full on, Akashi was there to help. The redhead never pressured for sex and he simply touched the hybrid the way he needed it and then immediately went back to cuddling him.
By the end of the day, when everyone returned home, they found Akashi reading a book on the bed with Kuroko glued to his side. The hybrid's tail swished back and forth in happiness and eventually he fell asleep from exhaustion.
It was a few days later when Kuroko's heat finally broke and he woke up with his head on the redhead's bare chest. The blue haired boy stared at Akashi's sleeping face, he whispered, "I love you." and he slowly leaned in to kiss the other's lips.
It was warm. It was as if a flame had been lit in both of them. It sparked. Their memories flooded their heads as Akashi stirred awake, took in the situation, and deepened the kiss. When they stared into each other's eyes, it was as if they could see their past lives and the lives to come. It was the same feeling they felt before, the universe expanded in their eyes.
"Hey, my little duckling." Akashi said with a small grin.
Kuroko smiled and hugged the redhead, "I missed you."
Once Kuroko recovered his energy after his heat, the two of them went to get their tattoo. It was their 50th lifetime and they felt nothing but pride that they had made it this far.
They announced their not surprising relationship to the group and Akashi eventually, after years of digging, found Kuroko's previous owner and brought him to justice.
The redhead then continued to speak for hybrids and their rights until hybrids became equals to humans. Kuroko never really forgot the traumatizing events from his past but he was recovering slowly and learning to love himself.
They lived happily together for so many years and created new memories until Akashi passed away and Kuroko passed away a few years later.
