Chapter 9
Not much has changed since the VKs came from the Isle. Hair grew for all but Hadley, who cut her hair into a faux mohawk. The sisters are getting along slightly better, Hadley still being closer to Carlos. Leather still being the main clothing choice for the VKs. The teens were in a circle around a large cauldron. Mal pouring apples into it as Hadley stirs. Together they all sing. "We got all the ways to be W-I-C-K-E-D! We got all the ways to be W-I-C-K-E-D! C'mon!" With that, they all ran off singing. "Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! (Haha!) Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!"
Mal, Hadley, and Carlos head to the lockers. Mal taking out a can of spray paint to put wicked on the blue lockers. "Crashin' the party, guess they lost my invitation. Friendly reminder, got my own kind of persuasion." She sings as she tosses the can over her shoulder.
"Looks like this place could use a bit of misbehavior," Hadley sings as she pushes a bucket of apples at a group of students, making them jump out of the way.
"Happily ever after with a little flavor," Carlos joins in as he pulls Mal into a spin as they walk off. Hadley doing a butterfly kick flip over the students to catch up.
Outside, Jay was doing flips and throwing apples at the marching band. Doing a flip before starting to sing. "Bad to the bone with even worse intentions. We're gonna steal the show and leave 'em all defenseless."
Evie was in a classroom where Fairy Godmother was teaching a class. She walks over to the board and adds a W to the icked on the board. Starting to sing along with the song. "A fairy tale life can be oh-so overrated, so raise your voice and let's get it activated!"
All together they start to sing despite not being together. "Long live having some fun. We take what we want. There's so many ways to be wicked. With us evil lives on the right side of wrong! There's so many ways to be wicked!" At that point, Hadley took off on her own. Getting the spelled students to join in the chaos, the teen flipping over her fellow students as they bob for apples in the fountain. Mal and Evie continue to sing as they pass out more apples to students. "Apple, apple, dip, dip. Wanna try it? Tick, tick. Take a bite, c'mon be bold change the way the story's told!"
"This time the dark is finally getting your attention," Mal starts to sing before Evie jumps back in.
"We're wicked by the book, and class is back in session," Evie sings next to Mal.
Jay was in front of the steps leading up to Auradon Prep. Cheerleaders dancing around him as he laid on the ground. "You like it, steal it gotta beat 'em t the treasure!
"A right of passage," Carlos sings as he juggles two apples before passing them to Ben's parents. Going back to singing with the others. "Bad just doesn't get much better!"
As all five teens run around school, they continue to sing together. "Long live having some fun! We take what we want! There's so many ways to be wicked! With us evil lives on the right side of wrong. There's so many ways to be wicked!"
Mal was at the flagpole raising a Long Live Evil flag. "Mother always knows best."
"Show her, pass every test," Evie adds from the classroom.
Carlos had his back against the lockers, headphones over his ears. "Hear her voice in my head!"
Jay and Hadley were leading a group of Auradon kids in a dance on the front lawn. "Evil is the only real way to live!"
The other three run on over and join in the dance. Moving right up to the front. "We got all the ways to be… Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! W-I-C-K-E-D! Let's go! We got all the ways to be… Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! W-I-C-K-E-D! Yeah! Long live having some fun! We take what we want! There's so many ways to be wicked! With us evil lives on the right side of wrong. There's so many ways to be wicked! Cruel and unusual, we're taking control. Long live having some fun! There's so many ways to be wicked! With us evil lives on the right side of wrong. There's so many ways to be wicked! Hey! Hey! Hey! With the snapping of cameras, Mal is snapped out of her daydream. Paparazzi surrounding her in front of the statue of the Beast. Shouting questions at her and shoving microphones in her face.
"Back off!" Hadley calls out as she and Ben run over to help the blonde get away from the cameras. Ben putting his arm around Mal's shoulders as Hadley uses herself as a physical barrier.
"Lady Hadley! King Ben! How is the planning for Mal's coalition going?" one reporter asks as the microphone is shoved in Ben's face.
"Sorry but we have no time for questions right now," Ben says as Hadley tries to push back the reporters.
"Hey! You are all trespassing! If you could please leave, I will not need to call security," Fairy Godmother says as she runs over to help the teens.
The reporters start to leave, far enough away for the three teens to quickly scurry off. Once they were gone, Fairy Godmother was swarmed with questions.
"Thanks for the help," Mal says to her boyfriend and sister with a smile. Leaning into him as he leans down to kiss the top of her head.
Hadley pretends to gag at the sign of affection. "You guys are gross."
"Didn't you and Elyse get detention for making out in the courtyard yesterday?" Mal points out, getting Ben to chuckle.
"You got Elyse to join you in detention? Her moms must be pissed at you," Ben comments as he ruffles Hadley's hair.
"Well Merida found it funny and Elsa asked me to not get Elyse in trouble for PDA again," the 15-year-old says as she ducks out from under Ben's hand. "Detention was far more fun with someone else being there for a change."
Ben laughs before moving away from the two girls. "I have to go help Jane with the planning. I'll see you two later."
"Bye Bennyboo!" Mal teases as she and Hadley go to meet up with Evie, Carlos, and Jay at the lockers.
"Hey Jay… how do you get a date?" Carlos asks the oldest VK as Hadley falls into step with him.
"It's easy! All you gotta do… is look like me," Jay laughs as he winks at a few girls, who giggle and wave at him.
"Elyse asked me out. She told me that it's because I was honest with her and because I'm adorable. You got the adorable part down, just tell her how you feel. Girls like that," Hadley suggests as she puts an arm around Carlos' shoulders. Knowing that her friend is crushing on Jane big time.
"Elyse would give me advice then?" Carlos asks as they walk over to Jane and Lonnie. "Hey Jane!"
"Hey Carlos!" Jane smiles at the dual hair colored boy. Carlos instantly becoming flustered.
"That chocolate cake at desert last night was really good," he stammers out. Chuckling a bit as Hadley elbows his side to tease him.
"I had the pumpkin pie," Jane says with eyes only for Carlos. Not even noticing Hadley making kissy faces at them.
"Cool cool," Carlos says as Jay moves him away from the embarrassment.
"Very smooth," Jay teases as he and the younger boy push each other around.
As Hadley goes t follow the boys, Evie grabs Hadley's forearm to stop her. "Is this another reminder of Elyse and I's fitting?"
"2:30. We need to make sure your vest fits. I also have a 3:30 slot open…" Evie says for Lonnie to quickly take it.
"I'll see you at 2:30," Hadley says, leaving with a little salute to go tease Carlos about his pickup lines.
