Tessa couldn't believe it. They were actually talking, Joey and Caitlin?

"She came to visit Lucy last month and I ran into her. We had a cup of coffee." Joey explained after Caitlin had left. "I never told her you were pregnant though. I'll try to talk to her this weekend what she said wasn't nice."

"She is the ice queen." Tessa retorted back.

"Knock it off, neither of you have a reason to hate each. Hate me if you want."

"So mature of you, Joey." Tessa said has she rolled her eyes. She had enough of this today.

The car ride back was silent between the two has Joey drove her home.

"Want me to pick you up tomorrow?" Joey said trying to break the tension.

"No, I'll walk."

"Tessa don't be mad. It's not like we're together. "

Something in Tessa snapped, she couldn't bite her tongue anymore. "Your right, Joey." She began, "it's not like we're trying to be co-parents or anything. Has a matter of fact," she said has they pulled into her parents drive way, "you won't be needed for any more prenatal visits. Have a good night!" She said while she slammed the car door and ran towards front door.

"Tessa," Joey had gotten out of the car and tried to soothe things with her but she was fast and for the second time that night two doors had been slammed in Joey's presence.

Tessa collapsed on the couch after she heard Joey drive away. This was not how she had planned out the day to be. All she wanted to do was shower and crawl under the covers after such a lousy night.

"Tessa, was the a new friend that dropped you off?" Her mom asked from the other room.

"No Mom, it's Joey Jeremiah. He use to drop me off a lot over the summer."

"Well next time he drops you off invite him in. You know your father and I must meet anyone you date. That's the rule."

"We're not dating Mom, Joey is just a friend." Not a good friend right now, she thought, but none the less.

"How was work? Must be hard working with that unwed mother."

"MOM!"

"What? It's what she is. I know you guys are friends but please don't let her influence you to much. You have your entire life ahead of you." Her mother lecture her while playing with her black hair. Tessa hadn't kept up with the maintenance so her blonde roots had been poking underneath. Her parents hated her hair, probably blamed it on her friendship with Spike. "I'm just glad we raised you right. Single teen mother. What's this world coming to?"

"MOTHER!" She said rolling her eyes. This is why she hadn't told her.

"Don't roll your eyes at me, it's not becoming of a young lady. Now go eat up and finish your home work." Her mom said before retreating out of the room.

Has Tessa got up to do what she was told she stroked her belly and thought to herself that she would never judge her child like that.

The next day walking to school Tessa was sure Maya purposely tried to run over her foot. Caitlin's friends always found a way to make their presence known, she was sure they must of heard about the evening before. Tessa was still irritated by the events of yesterday that she was hoping to have a few hour break from seeing Joey but she's never lucky. He was waiting right by her locker, hands behind his back patienly standing. He pulled out a white flag from behind his back and started to wave it has she got closer.

"I surrender, can we call a truce?" He said jokingly. "I actually have something important to tell you."

"Let me guess, if it's a girl you want to call her Joelia?"

"No," he chuckled at the thought, "but now that you said it's not a bad idea. Joelia Jeremiah has a nice feminine ring to it." Tessa mockingly hit him on the arm. "OK, ok;" he sighed hoping what he said next wouldn't cause another fight, Joey didn't know trying to please Tessa would be like walking through a landmine. "I told my parents after our fight last night."

"YOU DID WHAT?" Tessa screamed so loud that everyone in the hallway turned to stare at her.

"Take it easy, it went pretty well." He said trying to calm her. "I mean there was a lot of yelling and crying at first but we were able to make a deal and I still get to keep the car."

"That's what your worried about? Your stupid car?"

"No Tessa," Joey tried to explain, "part of the rule was I had to go back to work. I called the drug store this morning and was able to get my job back. Plus I know you still work at 1Hour Photo so now you can get a ride there. But there's one other thing."

"Of course there is, let me guess your totally calm and rational parents want me to give the baby up for adoption?" She scoffed at the idea.

"No," Joey bite his lip trying to control his usual word vomit. "They want to meet you. I was hoping before Alexa & Simons wedding."

"I didn't know I was invited to the wedding." she said standing her ground. If he wanted her there he'd have to ask even if it's just has friends.

"Tessa." He said emphasizing her name.

"Joey." She mocked back. She wasn't going to make this easy for him especially since he was asking her only two days before the event.

"Tessa, would you like to go with me to Alexa and Simon's wedding?"

"I thought you'd never ask."
