Tessa ruffled through another stores tie selection, she wanted a hunter green tie that matched her dress. It was her surprise to Joey for tomorrow's wedding. She hasn't expected him to tell his parents so she wanted to look perfect which meant a new dress. This store didn't have it and she felt hopeless.

She walked around the mall sulking and that's when she saw her, Emma playing in the mall play place with Spike not to far watching in the distance.

"Hey!" Tessa waved at the mother while she worked towards her. "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever."

"Hi! I know, I working mornings to go to evening classes. How is...," Spike paused. She knew Tessa had set up an appointment to have an abortion but hasn't worked with her since she scheduled the procedure.

"I didn't go through with it." She told, "I couldn't. I guess 1Hour Photo has a type they hire." She tried to make a joke.

Spike tried to comfort her, "It gets easier i swear. Especially with Emma in daycare. Does Joey know?"

"Yes, he's been amazing. He's been taking me to the prenatal check ups and has offered to drop me off at work."

"That's good, I took Emma to see Shane and it didn't end well. His parents put him in a home with others like him. He had a tantrum. I kinda worried to take her back."

Tessa and Spike sat for a bit and talked while Emma played. Tessa check the clock and jumped up "Oh shoot, I got go find a tie. It was nice catching up with you. Are you going to the wedding tomorrow?"

"Yes, are you going with Joey?' Spike watched Tessa nod. "Have you tried Hudson Bay? I have a classmate who works there. He said Friday is when they get new shipments for everything. Try there?"

"Thank you," she said hugging Spike. "I'll see you tomorrow."

She only had a few minutes before they closed and she still hadn't found what she was looking for. She began to curse under her breath and then she saw it, a thin hunter green tie with gold stripes. This was perfect.

Tessa spent all morning getting ready for the wedding. She matched gold jewelry and shoes to her dress so she would match Joey. She even went out and got flowers for his mom before she made her way walking to his house. He had offered to pick her up but she didn't want her parents to interrogate him. Mrs. Jeremiah had opened the door.

"Hi, these are for you." She said, she looked to the ground has she continued; "thanks for being so understanding."

"It's nice to finally put a face to the voice I've been hearing all summer. Joey should be down in a minute. We should talk."

Mrs. Jeremiah ushered Tessa in and gave her a place to sit. "Mr. Jeremiah is working late otherwise he would of loved to have met you. So how far along are you?"

"A little over three months, we should find out the sex in a month." Tessa said a little uneasy. She wanted to know what exactly Joey told them.

"I'm sorry Joey hadn't told us sooner. How are your parents dealing with it?"

"Umm," Tessa paused unsure of what to say, "they don't know yet. I'm kinda scared to tell them." She admitted.

"If you need help let me know. I was about Joey's age when I got married and pregnant soon after. I'm sure it'll be like how it was here. A lot of yelling, crying and cursing but we love Joey and want nothing bad to happen; your parents will probably be the same." She looked passed Tessa to see Joey coming down the stairs.

'How do I look?" He asked coming down in a black suit.

Tessa's eyes lit up. "Almost perfect," she said walking over to him with the tie in hand. She slid off his old tie and started to tie hers. "Done, now your perfect."

Their stared into each other's eyes, and that's when she felt it. The feelings of love that she felt over the summer had crept their way back during this moment. 'No!' Tessa screamed to herself, we're just friends. Thankfully his mom snapped her out of it.

"You guys better get going, don't want to miss the I dos."

"Wasn't it beautiful?" Spike asked joining the two by the bar. She already had a drink in hand.

"It was. They are so perfect." She answered while Joey got a drink and chatted with Snake for a while.

"You guys look good together."

"Thank you, if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have been matching."

"Sorry to interrupt but I'm gonna go meet Snakes new girl, I'll see you in a little." Joey said handing Tessa a water.

"So are you guys together?" Spike asked after ordering her drink.

"No, just friends."

Spike gave her a sympathetic look before she walked away. And that's when Tessa spotted her, Caitlin was making her way through the crowd. She didn't hesitate to make her way to Joey.

"Doesn't it hurt when your date looks better with someone else?" Maya said rolling it next to Tessa. They watched has the two chatted.

"We're just friends." Tessa felt like she had been saying that all day not just to people but to herself.

"Good, you two don't really belong together," she watched has Caitlin took Joey's hand and began to dance, "they belong together."

Tears swelled in her eyes watching them so publicly. She had been envious of Caitlin relationship since last year and watching them was breaking her. "They do. I'm just going to go get some air." She said before slipping out. Maya giggled has she walked away. Outside Tessa was able to collect her thoughts.

"You got a light?" A familiar voice asked from behind her. She turned around and saw Yick. "Oh, hi Tessa." He said disappointedly.

Things hadn't ended well with Yick when they started the 11 grade and after a few months they had broken up. What had hurt Yick the most was that Tessa started to date his friend Todd soon after.

"Hey," she noticed the tone of his voice. "beautiful wedding, right?"

"Yeah."

"Yick," she starting trying to figure out a way to say the thoughts in her head. "I'm sorry for how I acted. I should of talked to you instead of always running off to Todd with all of our problems."

"Thanks!" He replied genuinely.

"Can you do me a favor? I'm gonna head out. Can you tell Joey thanks for inviting me out?"

"Will do, do you need a ride?"

"No, it's not to far from my house. I'm just going to walk it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I have a lot to think about. It was nice seeing you."

Tessa started to make her way back home but at the party Joey had finished his dance with Caitlin and mingled with a few friends. It was nice catching up with them but all he wanted now was to dance with Tessa. He wished his mother hadn't been there when Tessa did his tie, there was something about that brought him to their first kiss. He wished he could of just kissed her then.

"Hey have you guys seen Tessa?" He asked to a group just hanging around near bar.

"Yeah, she ended up walking home about half an hour ago." Yick told Joey.

"What? Come on Yick."

"Joey I'm serious. She said she has a lot to think about."

Joey said a quick goodbye to the newlyweds and left. He hoped he could catch up to Tessa if she hadn't gotten yet.
