Tessa saw the suitcase right when she walked into the door and her heart sank. Her parents had gotten her the suitcase for her anticipated graduation trip to France. They got it for her when she started high school and promised if she got straight A's in French she would be rewarded with a three week trip.

"They packed a few of your belongings and left it outside the house after I had called to try to smooth things over. I'm sorry, I might have made matters worse."

She remembered her father bring stickers every year to add to the suitcase. The first one read 'Qui vivra verra', which meant He/she who lives, shall see. She couldn't believe they really kicked her out.

"It's ok, Tessa can stay in my room. I'll sleep in John or Jacob's room." Joey said referring to his brothers.

"Joey, can we talk in private for a second?" Mrs. Jeremiah motioning to the laundry room. When both inside she closed the door. "Unfortunately she can't stay here Joey."

"What, why?"

"I saw you guys in the car. I can't go back in time and stop you but I prefer you not be sexually active under my roof. Your father and I have both discussed this. We can help with the first months rent but Tessa has got to go."

"Mom you can't be serious. She just got kicked out by her parents."

"I am but I'm giving her to the new year. She has a little over a month to get it situated." Joey tried to argue but his mother cut him off. "End of discussion."

At dinner the Jeremiah's broke the news to Tessa and she took it surprisingly well.

"I'm sure I can find something by then, I'll sleep on the couch until then."

"No Tessa, I'll take the couch." Joey insisted.

"Tessa you take Joey's room and Joey can take John's." Mrs. Jeremiah informed them.

"I better get started on homework. Do you need any help Joey?"

"Yeah, sure."

Joey tried to get Tessa to talk to his Mom. "She's being really unfair."

"She's not. Your mom has been very gracious for letting me stay through the holidays."

"You know the only reason she's kicking you out is cause she caught us kissing."

"Let's just focus on homework and studying."

There were a few times during the evening that she noticed Joey tried to kiss her. Though she liked Joey, she didn't want to disobey the Jeremiahs. They have been amazing to her.

"Joey knock it off." She said when he moved his hand to her thigh.

Joey had been thrown off, just a few hours ago they'd been making out in his car. Now Tessa can barely stand his touch.

"Your parents." she said reading his expression.

"Their in the other room. Come on, they won't know."

Tesss was starting to get irritated, was this why Joey wanted her to stay. She was thankful Mrs. Jeremiah was here when they came home otherwise who knew what would of happened. Joey's charm always seemed to get Tessa in trouble.

"Listen Joey," She said turning her attention to him. "I think we should just be friends."

So this one is purposely short. Its more of a transition chapter then anything else. Thanks for feedback.
