My name is Alex, and I have high functioning Autism. And Because of this, I have a vivid imagination and a lot of creativity on my hands. Because of this, I was able to take all of my favorite TV shows and Video Games and combine all of their Stories together, like one big long TV show, which I call Alternate Universes or "AU's" since they're not really exactly like their real versions. And By the way, I managed to work MYSELF into them as well. But, this story isn't about THAT though, but I thought I would put it out there considering it is somewhat important to the story I'm about to tell. I have more information about it on my Youtube Channel and Deviantart, Links will be at the end so go check them out if you're interested. OK, enough of this, time to get the ball rolling!
I should say that this whole idea of "Combining stories" first came to me from a game I played in my youth called "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky." And there are 2 other games just like it, such as "Explorers of Darkness" and "Explorers of Time." Sky, just happened to be the newer one of the both of them, with updated cutscenes and bonus content. There are also other games too, such as "Red and Blue rescue Team," "Gates to Infinity," and "Super Mystery Dungeon." And recently, they came out with a remade version of Blue and Red Rescue Team called "Rescue Team DX." Basically what the premise of each game is, is that you, the player, get transformed into a Pokémon and lose all of your memories, besides the fact that you are a human and what your name is, which you get to choose yourself. And your "Partner," (which you get to choose which Pokémon they get to be for the duration of the game) finds you, and you have a pretty awkward first encounter. You DON'T however choose which Pokémon YOU get to be, that is decided by a personality test you have to take before the story actually begins. And judging by which answers you choose, your Pokémon is decided for you. For example, a Brave type would be a Charmander, which is what I got when I played it. But for Rescue Team DX, you can choose what Pokemon you get to be if you don't like what the game has chosen for you.
When this happened, I decided to insert myself into the Story and Change up the story a bit, and me, my clone (which was the Charmander), and her partner Turtwig, set out on an unforgettable journey and lead me to add on to their story by taking my favorite TV shows and Video Games and changing their stories a bit was well.
Recently, I had been thinking about how I never played "Explorers of Time" for I had played Sky, and couldn't get past Mesprit on Darkness, but it was basically the same as Sky anyway, so I didn't bother to finish it. I figured that Time would be the same deal, but I wanted to pride myself on at least playing all of the games in the "Explorers of" series. So I went on Amazon and bought myself a copy of Time, and in less than 3 days, I got it, I had it and began playing it immediately. I had to turn off my DS over and over again at the personality test until I got Charmander, then I chose Turtwig as my partner, just for old times' sake. After that, I was ready, and started off on a huge nostalgia trip. The game played out just how I thought it would, same as Darkness and Sky, same story, same plot twists, same ending that pulled at my heartstrings, same old, same old. That is until, the POST-game story began.
If you hadn't played the "Explorers of" series of the PMD games, the post-game starts off with you and your partner taking a graduation exam from the Wiggilytuff Guild that you spent the entire real game working at. What the exam is, is that you have to go into a forest, fight the "Grand Master of all things Bad" and his minions, (Which is just the entire guild minus Bidoof under a pen name) and bring back a treasure which is a Perfect Apple. But what I saw when the hole where you fight the guild lit up, was something I definitely was NOT expecting.
Instead of the Guild, there were cloaked figures, and when their little persona pics appeared on the screen, it showed them wearing some sort of Japanese Masks. Of course, my guys were freaking out, but so was I. Not only was this not supposed to happen, but it meant that I had gotten a hacked game instead of an authentic one. This is why you NEVER buy game cartridges on the internet. But it seemed that this was the only portion of the game to be hacked, because the real game seemed completely fine. But still, this was pretty unsettling to say the least, because if I wasn't fighting the guild, then who WERE these guys? And where the hell WAS the guild? I decided to see where this was going and continued to play.
My partner, (who speaks for you the entire game since you are a stereotypical silent protag) asked who these people were, and one guy, who seemed to be their leader, introduced himself as "The Grand Master of the Aum Shinrikyo organization." I was even more taken aback, The Grand Master? That is who Wiggilytuff is supposed to be when you fight him. Unless, this was some early beta version of this fight, and whoever hacked this game found a way to rebuild the code and replace it with the guild fight that was supposed to happen. Which seemed like a possibility at the time. After some further dialogue, something happened that made me feel sick to my stomach. The Grand Master walked to the back of the room, and lit up a new section, where the mangled corpses of the Guild Members were Chained up to the wall, all red and pixelated blood surrounding them and smeared on the walls and floor.
My guys, especially Turtiwg, went into a full blown panic upon seeing the remains of their friends. I was pretty shocked as well, because I've even Read creepypastas like this on the internet where videogames had blood where it wasn't enough, or it was so much that it was not even good anymore. I've never really thought of those instances as scary, but when you're living it yourself, it's a completely different experience. And what made it worse, was that Wiggilytuff was still alive! The Grand Master walked up to him, and he spoke. "Please…..no more…" and a persona pic of him appeared that made my urge to vomit more overpowering. It depicted him all bloody and missing an ear, with bruises all over his body and a black eye. Once he was finished speaking, pleading more likely, the Grand Master Spoke again. "This pathetic Creature and his society of explorers have been impersonating me and my clan for far too long. I will not put up with such mockery!" And with that, he drove a knife through Wiggilytuff's skull, and he stopped moving. I felt tears well up in my eyes, one of the most lovable characters from one of my favorite games of all time, was now dead, killed by the hands of these, MONSTERS!
My guys began to cry themselves, but that soon turned to rage, and Turtwig cried out saying that he and Charmander Alex (the name I gave my Charmander Protag) would stop him and his gang. And with that, a battle ensued, but the normal theme that played when you fight the Guild didn't play, instead, it was the song that played when you fought Dusknoir and eventually Darkrai. After some fighting, my guys managed to take down the deathcult and win.
After the battle, my guys walked up to the battered and bloody corpses of the Guildmembers. There were tears and sad dialogue exchanged, and I felt like I could feel their pain. Was this really the intended fight for the game? Or was this just a sick hack and I happened to be the Unlucky soul that got stuck with it? After the dialogue was completed, the screen faded to black, and it just did the whole "Congratulations, you graduated!" speal, and I got my 10,000 Poke-dollars. Then it just cut right to my guys in Sharpedo Bluff and did the whole "This is now your new place to save your game" rant, like NOTHING abnormal had happened. After that was done, I rushed over to the Guild to see what would happen, but found that I couldn't. Once I got to the crossroads which lead to the beach, back to town, out of town, and of course, the guild, I found that the path to the guild was blocked off by police tape, and when I went to interact with it, all I got was "…" from Turtwig with a sad persona pic to go with it.
Now the game was pretty much unplayable, since in order to continue with the post story, you had continue doing jobs that you got at the guild, but since it was now blocked off, there was no way I could get any jobs and continue with the game. So I just took the cartridge and put it with my other DS games and never touched it again.
