Prologue

It was the evening when the Potter twins were left orphans. Lily Potter was rocking her daughter Maya Selene Potter in her arms while James Potter was playing with his son Harry. Harry was zooming along on his toy broomstick without a care in the world and was a joy for his father to watch. The end happened soon enough.

Lord Voldemort had waited long enough to get rid of them all. He needed to make sure the boy was killed before he could match him if the boy was allowed to grow and live. When the door burst opened Lily took her son in her other arm and had led the two kids back to the nursery. James foolheartedly forgot his wand when he went to face Voldemort out in the hallway. He was amused when he struck James down with the killing curse. Couldn't the man had at least remembered his wand? There was a war going on and the foolish husband forgot to pick it up to defend himself. Voldemort didn't care at all. One down.

Voldemort made his was to the nursery where the mother with red hair was speaking softly to the toddlers who were both in the same crib. Lily turned around to face Voldemort.

"Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry! Or my Maya..."

"Stand aside, you silly girl... stand aside, now."

"Not them, please no, take me, kill me instead-"

"This is my last warning-"

"No! Please... have mercy... have mercy, No! No! Please, I'll do anything-"

"Stand aside. Stand aside, girl."

He could have forced her away from the crib, but it seemed more prudent to finish them all...

The green light flashed around the room and she dropped like her husband. The children had not cried all this time: They could stand, clutching the bars of the crib, and they both looked up into the intruder's face perhaps wondering if it was a trick and their father was there... Voldemort needed to get rid of the boy before despatching of the other. Both children had started to cry, he could not stomach the ones who had cried at the orphanage, he had always hated children...

"Avada Kedavra," Voldemort roared his wand aimed at the boy's head. He then broke. Without knowing or meaning to a piece of him was left behind and went straight into the boy's head. His other essence left barely alive to flee to a country unknown.

Hours later, Rubeus Hagrid arrived, looking for any signs of life. He spotted the two kids; a boy with black hair that stuck up everywhere with bright green eyes, and a girl with brown-reddish hair with brown eyes. After an altercation with a man by the name of Sirius Black, Hagrid was off to deliver the kids to Albus Dumbledore.

He arrived ten minutes to midnight on a road in the suburbs of Surrey. After giving each kid a kiss on the head, Dumbledore, another witch, and Hagrid said good-bye to the twins and left to celebrate a war that was temporarily won.

Nobody knew what would happen to the twins on Number 4 Privet Drive, but it would be eleven years before anyone saw them again. The question was how would they cope with the wizarding world and one's celebrity statues when they re-entered their world?
