Xamusel: …why am I doing this? I mean, really, what possessed me to pull this off? I don't even know if there are any Koihime Musou crossovers with KHR at all… and if there are any with the visual novel (I know that there's a crossover with Shin Koihime Musou, but not with the original, to my knowledge). Oh, well. I'd better get myself back on track with the ideas I have.

Now, I'll be honest. This idea hit me suddenly, at a random time in the morning… literally. I should've been asleep by the time this idea hit me. Ugh. Still, this is something I feel like I need to do, just to get it off my chest.

Okay… Can't Escape From Crossing Fate! FIGHT!

Koihime Musou REBORN!
by Xamusel

Chapter 000

It was with a clattering of shinai that Sawada Tsuna, commonly called Tsunayoshi, abruptly woke up from a daydream, remembering he was in the middle of Kendo club. He had to refocus himself on the efforts of his activities a few times, but nowhere nearly as much as right now. He didn't know why he blanked out the way he did… maybe it had to do with his mother saying that he was going to be getting a personal tutor for the times when he couldn't let blood flow through his head?

'Oh, brother…' he thought. 'That last daydream was of me going out on a date for once… how does that work? I mean, nobody wants No-Good Sawada back home, except if it was my mother being a mother like she normally is, and none of the girls here are even interested in someone that's like me, anyway.'

"Sawada, take a breather!" the coach called out to Tsuna from the sidelines. "Don't worry, you're still good for the upcoming tournament with Namimori High. I just need you to stay alert when it's your turn to go up."

Tsunayoshi nodded, remembering some of the… interesting… issues he had to deal with, most of which had to do with his hometown of Namimori screwing his life up. It was the primary reason why he came over to St. Francessca Academy for Middle School onwards. He didn't want to be reminded of his past the way it was… not just yet.

At that point, however, the PA alerted everyone that club activities were over with a heavy gonging noise. Tsuna took the time to take off his chest protector and saw that it was getting sweaty from the exercise. 'Ugh…' he thought. 'Now I need to worry about my secrets being revealed…'

"Even in winter, it sure gets muggy when in armor, huh?" a clubmate of Tsuna's remarked as he also took off his chest protector. "I hope that we win in the school tournaments against the Tokyo region."

"You said it," Tsuna answered the clubmate. "By the way, Hongou-kun, what makes you so good with a sword?"

Hongou Kazuto was a young man with almost-black hair, gray eyes, and a rather encyclopedic knowledge of military tactics. He stood at 170 centimeters tall, was in his second year of the High School division, and was the local sword genius behind a lot of his school's wins. It was less known that he was a heartthrob amongst the school population, but mainly because nobody had the courage to tell him their feelings for him… that, and he was oblivious.

"Lots of practice as a kid, mainly from my father and grandfather owning a dojo in the country," Kazuto answered. "By the way, Tsuna, why are you addressing me by my last name?"

Tsuna hung his head down. "I can't help it sometimes…" he answered. "I was told not to address anyone by their given name alone by Mama, unless I'm close with them. I don't want to make her upset with me, you know?"

Kazuto, after removing his helmet, pinched the bridge of his nose. "I get that, Tsuna," he answered, releasing his nose. "However—"

"You two do know that your heads are steaming right now, right?"

"Whoa!" Kazuto yelped as he turned to face the person who said that. Tsuna, on the other hand…

"EEEEK!"

…rushed over to hide from the newcomer, behind Kazuto.

"Yoohoo, Kazupi, nice t'see ya!" the newcomer greeted. "And hey, Sawada, don't be like that. I'm just being friendly."

"Where did you come from?" Kazuto demanded. "Don't just appear like that! Especially since Tsuna doesn't like being startled!"

The newcomer, Oikawa Tasuku, narrowed his brown eyes behind his glasses in confusion. "What do you mean?" he asked. "I've been here for so long!"

"Liar," Tsuna deadpanned. "You just got here."

Oikawa gave a smirk, ignoring Tsuna's comment as he said, "Hey, you shouldn't get too excited about hitting girls, sadistic Hongou-zaemon."

"Moron…" Tsuna muttered under his breath. "Always does this to people…"

Kazuto heard what Tsuna said. "Hey, Oikawa, could you please quit ignoring Tsuna like that?" he asked. "Also, since when am I supposed to be sadistic?" He paused a bit, putting a finger on his chin, before he continued. "Anyway, what's the occasion today? Something new going on in the main part of town?"

Oikawa, who was silent while Kazuto was speaking earlier, suddenly blew into a rage at that. "What are you, stupid?!" he roared. "Don't you remember our homework assignment?!"

Kazuto blinked in surprise for a bit, but then facepalmed. "Oh, right," he groaned out. "I remember now… stupid headmaster making that declaration."

"You said it," Tsuna groused. "Honestly, why are we supposed to do a report on ancient artifacts of the world that have no significant impact on us as a whole?" Suddenly, he gripped his head with his right hand, before he grunted in pain. "Correction," he said, "there is an important artifact on the school grounds, in the museum at that. How we missed it, I've no idea."

"Uh…" Oikawa started, before turning to Kazuto. "Does he always do this?"

"Only when something major comes up," Kazuto answered. "Believe me, when it happened before, that was when the arson attempt took place."

"That was him stopping it?!" Oikawa blurted out.

"No, that was me predicting it so accurately, I didn't know how I knew," Tsuna answered. "Anyway, aren't we supposed to go to do homework now?"

"Urk!" Kazuto and Oikawa blurted out in unison.

"So, guys," Tsuna began. "Why are we going in a group of three like this?"

Indeed, Oikawa had invited Kazuto and Tsuna to go with him to the museum, but never specified the details.

"Well," Oikawa said as he walked along, "it's because the museum is on the way to my next stop."

"You're dating someone new again?" Kazuto asked in shock. "What are you, some sort of romantic masochist?"

Oikawa merely laughed off the accusation, stating in the process, "I much prefer to be called a Romeo or a Casanova. As a ma—OWW!"

Tsuna flicked the back of Oikawa's head for that first statement. "Moron," he declared. "Romeo Montague died by poisoning himself a scant few seconds before Juliet Capulet woke up from faking her death, and Casanovas hardly last any better." He sighed as he walked forward and past Oikawa and Kazuto. "Besides which, I'm certain that you'll be outdone by Hongou-kun here."

Before Oikawa could say anything in response, Kazuto asked, "Wait, is this your prediction thing going off again, Tsuna?"

Tsuna blinked in surprise when he heard that. "Eh? Did I say that out loud?" he asked, standing still and looking at the two of them out of the corner of his left eye. Upon getting two nods of confirmation, he groaned and muttered, "Dammit…" before hanging his head down in—

"Guh!" a male voice brought Tsuna out of dejection right away.

Tsuna lifted his head up in shock and looked at the guy who he accidentally knocked down by hanging his head that low. "Omigosh! I'm so sorry!" he declared with a hand over his mouth, before moving said hand over to the guy. "Do you want me to pick you back up?"

The guy he knocked down, a sandy blonde with violet eyes in the St. Francessca men's uniform, looked at Tsuna as if he were crazy, but still took the offered hand. "Thanks…" he said as Tsuna lifted him up, before he seemed to gain a strange glint in his eyes. A moment later, he turned around, muttering an insult that Tsuna didn't hear clearly.

"…what's up with him, the creep?" Oikawa asked, a frown marring his face.

Kazuto seemed to notice something about the situation, as he was unusually silent in this case.

"Hey, Kazupi, what's wrong?" Oikawa asked him with a look of concern.

"Who is that guy…?" Kazuto asked out loud.

"Eh?" Oikawa asked. "What do you mean?"

"Tsuna's usually able to avoid doing that to anyone that goes to this school," Kazuto answered. "The only times it happened were when it involved someone not belonging on the campus…" A look of horror hit Kazuto's face as he realized the implications. "Uh-oh…"

Tsuna looked at Kazuto and asked, "What? Did I do something wrong?"

Kazuto shook his head, "No, not quite…" He then looked at the guy who Tsuna knocked down, his form intermingling with other students. "I think we need to be careful, here."

Oikawa looked between Tsuna and Kazuto, before asking the one thing that came to mind. "So, guys… what am I missing?"

""Nothing!""

The museum was a massive sight to behold… though that was to be expected, given the amount of money dumped into it, even with the ancient Chinese artifacts and so on.

"Well…" Oikawa started to say, "I wonder how we ended up getting this museum in the first place? Our tuition doesn't cover this much building, does it?"

Before Kazuto and Tsuna could reply—

"Ciaossu."

—they heard a nasally voice down near the ground, belonging to a person who looked like a male baby in a black suit and fedora, with a pet chameleon on his shoulder. "Huh?" the three of them uttered at the same time.

"This museum was built with financial help from the Vongola Lending Corporation," the newcomer answered for Oikawa. "Although, funnily enough, the company gave the money for free because their sole surviving heir goes to school here."

Tsuna, Kazuto and Oikawa looked blankly at the newcomer, before Kazuto asked, "Who are you, how old are you, and how do you know this?"

The newcomer blinked a bit, before raising a hand to lower his fedora over his eyes. "My apologies," he said, "I forgot about that. The name I use these days is Reborn, I am an adult suffering from dwarfism, and I am hired by the Vongola to tutor their surviving heir."

"Who would the heir be?" Oikawa asked out of curiosity. "I mean, they didn't announce themselves here, so we don't know who that is just yet."

Reborn lifted his fedora up and answered, "I'm not quite at liberty to say who the heir is, because they need private confirmation about their status as heir. They come from a distant branch of the family." Walking along, he said, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to see what the exhibits here are."

Tsuna was quick enough to grab the dwarf and say, "Hold on, you need someone to be your legs while here. You're too short to see the exhibits properly."

Reborn blinked again, before he got the idea. "Sure, I understand," he said. "Could you please put me on your shoulder?"

Tsuna nodded, putting the man on his shoulder. "Let's go, shall we?"

Eventually, they made their way to a few of the ancient Chinese artifacts, one of which was a bronze hand mirror. "So, what era is this from?" Kazuto asked, looking at the mirror.

Oikawa took a look at his brochure and answered, "According to the brochure, it's from the latter end of the late Han Dynasty."

"The end of the late Han Dynasty?" Tsuna asked.

"That's the era of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms," Kazuto exclaimed. "Amazing. These relics are from 1800 years ago!"

Oikawa looked at Kazuto in surprise. "…I'm impressed, Kazupi."

"Huh?" Kazuto asked.

Before Oikawa could say anything more, Tsuna put a hand on his shoulder. "It's not common knowledge, Hongou-kun," he said. "So, where did you learn about the annals of the Three Kingdoms, and how did you know it was 1800 years ago?"

Kazuto looked between the other three with him. "Oh, right…" he said. "I learned about this because of my grandpa in the country. He has tons of history books on this subject at his house. When I used to visit him as a kid, I read those books in between training."

"Where does your grandfather live, exactly?" Reborn asked, looking curious.

"Kagoshima," Kazuto answered, looking at the three of them. "I was born and raised here though."

"What sort of training were you doing?" Oikawa asked.

"Well…" Kazuto said. "I am a swordsman, at least because of family tradition. My family's been running a dojo for generations, mainly since my ancestor from before Emperor Taika traveled here and established himself as a swordsman instructor. His name isn't really well known, but his dojo had been named as such from the beginning, so we were given the chance to use the Hongou name by the time of Emperor Taika… or so the story goes."

Oikawa gave him a concerned look, before asking, "Kazupi, are you really from this era? You sound weird, talking about training and swordsmanship."

"You're calling me weird of all things, idiot?" Kazuto demanded.

"No, no, seriously," Oikawa said, closing his eyes and shaking his head. "It's really strange for a modern day student to talk about that."

"What can I do?" Kazuto asked. "My family is very old fashioned. A son of a dojo owner can't be weak. Both my dad and grandpa believe that."

Oikawa closed his eyes and began crying comedically. "I'm surprised you didn't stray from the right path," he said.

Tsuna facepalmed when he heard that.

"Actually, I like sword fighting," Kazuto admitted, shrugging his shoulders. "It was tough, but I didn't mind."

Oikawa blinked in surprise. "And you joined the kendo club when you entered St. Francessca…" he said. "Why do you want to be so tough?"

"He wants to defeat Fuyurugi-san," Tsuna answered. "Our club's captain is the toughest girl in the entire school, with everyone else agreeing that she could wipe the floor with everyone else."

"I see," Oikawa said, chuckling nervously. "Good luck." He then gave Kazuto an encouraging pat on the back—

"Mind if I look at this exhibit?"

—this brought the whole group up short, as they looked at the young man from earlier. "Oh, we're sorry," Kazuto answered, moving Oikawa with him to get out of the student's way. While he did this, and with the student moving along, Kazuto activated his personal ability to sense a person's power level.

Unlike what most would expect of him, Kazuto could get a general idea of one's power level by sending a pulse of Ki around him, although the accuracy of said Ki pulse was not at all like in the Dragon Ball sagas. In effect, the closer a person was to Kazuto physically, the stronger the reading accuracy. To put it into proper perspective, if he strained himself, he could read a person's power level from ten kilometers away at most, but with very weak reading accuracy.

Another key difference from the Dragon Ball sagas was that he could tell how a person can grow as a fighter based on weather patterns that keep popping up in his pulsing technique. For example, if someone was a "Sky"-type, they could easily predict any attack and redirect the attacks in question to harm someone else. If they were a "Lightning"-type? They could easily learn how to use body hardening techniques to keep from being hurt that badly. True, there were more examples, but there's only a list of 14 that he could tell were there.

…although, why half of them were related, he had no idea. They weren't weather patterns at all. Maybe they were geological conditions, like a desert, but definitely not weather patterns.

'Now, then…' he thought. 'Let's see how strong our mysterious newcomer is, shall we?' Keeping the pulse discreet, he waited for it to give a spiritual ping on his end, before he got a total of four pings. 'Oops… forgot who I was with for a second… okay, so Oikawa's a known entity, given he's a Cloudy 5. He isn't a martial artist, or even a fighter in general, so he must've increased his brain power by a multiple of five since I last checked him. Next up… Reborn-san? He's a Sunny 2,000? That's higher than most adults I've seen in my entire life! I think only my uncle is higher in that same category… what was his name, again? Oh, right, Hongou Takeshi. Now… Tsuna is the odd duck here. I know he's trained a lot more than I am in how to fight with all the Martial Arts clubs that St. Francessca's offered, but why is he stuck at 1 the whole time? On top of that, he's a Sky, but there's something blocking that particular form of reading, which made it nearly impossible for me to tell if that's what he really is. Okay, now to the newcomer… wait, how old is this guy? He's a Cloudy 3 BILLION?! Wait, he's got some sort of restraint on his strength, but only enough to make him a million times weaker… still, this is really ridiculous, I know that for a fact.'

"Uh, Kazupi, we're headed to a different part of the museum now," Oikawa said, bringing Kazuto back out of his ruminations.

"Oh, right," he said. Turning off the Ki pulse, he walked on with Oikawa, Tsuna, and Reborn. However, before he could get too far, he stopped a bit and looked behind him. He saw the trained warrior behind him, still looking at the display, as if the item, the bronze hand mirror, were the hated rival of his family and he was about to murder said rival.

"Here… it… begins…" the warrior posing as a student said, though only he and Kazuto heard that, even if Kazuto wasn't supposed to have heard it.

A few minutes later, the group of four was almost out of the museum, when Kazuto decided to do something that would forever change the course of fate. "Excuse me, Reborn-san, could you please help the security guards out?" he asked.

"What for?" the dwarf asked.

"Simple," Kazuto answered. "I think we have a thief in the museum."

Reborn blinked in surprise. "Hmm… that sounds very interesting. What proof do you have of it?"

"Well, it's like this," Kazuto said, explaining what the circumstances were behind his hypothesis. As he explained, Reborn's chameleon moved to his right hand, expecting some form of action on the dwarf's part, before Kazuto finished his explanation. "And that's what happened. Could you please help?"

"Certainly," Reborn answered, before gesturing at Tsuna. "Could you let me off for now, please? I need to make sure the security guards are aware of the threat."

"Oh, sure," Tsuna answered, letting the dwarf down and on his merry way.

Another few minutes later, Reborn returned to the group, giving off a smug grin. "Well, it seems that the guards were also hired by the Vongola Lending Corporation," he said. "Now that they know what's going on, it'll be safe to say that this thief will be arrested and placed where he belongs."

"I sure hope so," Kazuto said.

"Wait, hold up…" Oikawa raised his hands up. "What if this thief manages to hide in the restroom and nobody notices until later?"

This got everyone else to look at him funny.

"…what?" Oikawa asked.

"Not funny, Oikawa, not funny…" Kazuto griped.

Later, back at the dorms, Tsuna was getting his homework done for the day when he heard a knock at the door. "Who is it?" he called out.

"It's me, Tsuna," Kazuto's voice was heard from the other side of the door. "Well, me and Reborn-san, but he was about to leave when I came by."

Tsuna sighed, before getting up out of his seat. "I'm on my way now…" he trailed off, before clutching his head in pain. "Not again!"

Kazuto opened the door in a hurry, exclaiming, "What's wrong, Tsuna?!"

Thankfully, Tsuna was clothed, otherwise an awkward silence would've been given. "The thief's about to make a move!" he shouted. "Quick! We need to stop him!" In a very fast and fluid motion, he grabbed a katana from beside his desk, something that startled Kazuto. "Get your bokken! I don't want you defenseless against the thief!"

"Wait!" Kazuto exclaimed. "Where did you get a katana, Tsuna?!"

"Eh?" Tsuna blinked at the question. "You mean I forgot to tell you?" Upon getting a nod, he answered, "It's a family honor blade. I have a feeling I'll need it for later on."

Kazuto blinked in surprise. "You serious?" A brief second later, he shook his head. "Never mind. I'll go get my bokken." With that, he rushed over to his dorm.

At the same time, Reborn looked at Tsuna and asked, "Was that a distraction?"

"No, it wasn't," Tsuna answered, moving to the door. "The thief really is going to make a move soon. Why did you think it was a distraction?"

"Because I needed to talk with you about your role as heir," Reborn said, causing Tsuna to nearly trip on his own two feet. "I'll have to explain later, though… this isn't a good time."

"Ugh… you're right about it not being a good time," Tsuna admitted. "Look, I need you to stay here and wait for me. If I don't return in five minutes, grab my suitcase and bring it with you, then find me on the pathway to the museum. It should already be full of essentials."

At that moment, Kazuto returned with his bokken. "I'm ready now," he said.

"Good," Tsuna said, before the two of them rushed off to the path to the museum.

While they were speeding off, Reborn walked over to the suitcase in question, seeing that it was zipped and full. 'Hmm…' he thought. 'Why would I need to bring this with me if he's not back in five minutes? I'd open it now, but I will respect his privacy on this matter, if only for the time being. Instead… I'll bring it over there now.'

Eventually, Reborn came to the pathway where his student and said student's friend were about to engage the thief, who was supposedly a student in the school. However, before he could get closer, he saw the beginning of a fight about to break out. 'What the…? This fight is unavoidable, I can tell… now, how do I intervene for my student's sake?'

Before he could come to a decent conclusion, he saw the fight start, with the fake student launching a kick at Tsuna, followed by a fist at Kazuto. "Whoa! W-Weren't you listening to us?!" Tsuna cried out.

"I don't intend to," the fake student replied. "Die." With that, he effortlessly launched a series of kicks at the two of them.

'This is bad… those kicks are aimed at their vitals!' Reborn noted grimly. 'I need to do something about this now, before they die!'

"Tsk… you pests," the thief ground out, as the two he was fighting dodged every single attack.

"We're not pests! Who the hell are you? Why are you stealing?!" Tsuna cried out.

"Stealing? …Oh, you mean this," the thief realized. "You don't need this. What's wrong with taking something people don't need?"

"Huh?" Tsuna and Kazuto asked at the same time.

"You don't have anything to do with this," the thief said, ignoring them. "If you don't want to die, just go away. Forget about what happened today."

"Don't get full of yourself, thief! How dare you!"

"So you insist on getting in my way? Fine, then I'll kill you. …Without the key to open the door, then history will never be rewritten and—"

'I've heard enough,' Reborn thought, turning his chameleon into a gun and shooting at the thief. Unfortunately, Reborn's shot missed the fake student and hit the mirror in his hand, causing a massive distortion around the fates of all that were present. 'Drat! I missed my shot!' As he rushed over to get a better bead on his foe, however…

"Shit, the mirror! Damn it!" the fake student declared, his face in a deep panic. "Move, you two crazy idiots!"

Before he could push the legitimate students out of the way, Tsuna grabbed the guy by the arms and restrained him on the ground, one foot on his back and both of his arms held up and backwards. "What are you playing at, thief?" he demanded.

"Shit!" the thief growled out. "How dare you two and the gunman do this to me?"

"What the hell do you mean?" Kazuto demanded. "You shouldn't have stolen it in the first place!"

"You don't know anything, so quit talking!" the thief grunted out.

"What are we supposed to know, anyway?" Reborn asked, even as he came on forward with Tsuna's suitcase. "We know enough to know you're a thief." At that point, the sound of a violent gust of wind surged through the area, coming from the mirror… "What the… the broken mirror is…?"

"Damn, it's already starting," the thief growled. As he spat his detestable remarks, the mirror glowed and pulsed a bright light, swallowing him, Tsuna, Kazuto and Reborn.

"What is this? What's going on?" Kazuto questioned. As everything became white, as in a glaring white light, the three fighting the thief closed their eyes. At the same time, it was as if they were frozen still, incapable of moving or screaming out of their prison.

"It's no use," the thief said, before he undid his position forced on him by Tsuna, throwing the other teen at Kazuto.

"Ow!" Tsuna cried out. "Why is it?!"

"…You cannot go back. The curtain has been drawn," the thief answered.

"What are you talking about?" Reborn demanded.

"Be swallowed up by the light. That is the punishment that has befallen you," the fake student answered.

"What do you mean by that?!" Kazuto demanded, before the sound of wind came back. "Whoa!"

"Now view the truth of this world with your own eyes!" the thief declared, before he began to chuckle evilly, then fully laughing like an evil maniac. In fact—

*BANG!*

With that, the thief went dead.

"Shut… up," Reborn said. At that point, he lost consciousness, along with the rest of the survivors.

Xamusel: Okay, this is officially finished up, and I'm not sure when the next chapter will be started. I can't believe that the chapter itself took me from sometime in May last year until now to write.

Now, to make sure I have a proper end to this series of events, I need to finish playing through the game and then find a way to incorporate that into the Katekyo Hitman Reborn series of events. Of course, since I have not enough clues to find out how to pull that off yet, I'll have to finish KHR as well. If memory serves me right, I got as far forward as before Tsuna and his Guardians fought Byakuran proper, meaning I was unable to get to the end of the series.

Anyway, I'm planning on finishing Koihime Musou properly, so that I can figure out how my changes can come into effect. I know that the thief was supposed to be a major villain… but I don't know his name right off the bat. Ugh…

Oh, for those of you waiting for Fate/Zero Cascade URE, I'll be working on that next. I don't want to take too long getting to the main meat of that story. However, I need to make sure my outline for it actually exists, really… ouch.

Now… Until We Meet Again. Farewell.
