Harry Potter: how it should have happened

Starts at the end of Harry's 3rd year. This is my (very unrealistic) opinion on how the books should have gone. it points out a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies I've noticed in the Harry Potter franchise. [HP/HG, powerful harry, independent harry, manipulative dumbledore, rated M for language, themes, and possible future lemons]

Authors Note

Hi! I've been wanting to write a harry potter fanfiction for a while, but never had the time it motivation. with everything that's happened this year, and being stuck inside, I thought why not start now? I've been reading quite a bit of fanfiction from authors such as Vance McGill, Phoenix Dawn, and other HP Fanfic authors. you will probably notice quite a few similarities to their stories. It was reading their stories that inspired me to write this!

anyways, this is my first real attempt at writing a fanfiction, so any and all constructive criticism is welcomed! I will not have a set update schedule, as I want to make sure it is a quality story, without having to worry about deadlines and stuff. School already gives me enough stress when it comes to that.

I am also american, so I'm not quite immersed in british culture. but I will try my best to use british slang and such while not being super stereotypical and obvious about it when writing this story. British characters talking like Americans would not make very much sense would it?

anyways down to the meat and potatoes of this Author's Note. This story is what I think should have happened, however unrealistic it may be. (and it's going to be pretty damn unrealistic, believe me.)

when Harry and Hermione rescue Sirius in the third book, He leaves with buckbeak. What if, before leaving, he told harry a small tidbit of information that kick started this entire story.

This story will mostly focus around Harry and Hermione. Ron will either be an antagonist or just in the background. I've never really liked his character anyways.

There will be a lot of revelations and surprises in the first few chapters. (though if you've read as much fanfiction as I have most of them probably aren't quite as surprising).

now moving on before I get into a rant about how JKR completely messed up the characters in the later books (which is kinda what this story is)

If I am offensive in any way (aside from writing characters like Malfoy, who are supposed to be offensive) please inform me and I will correct it.
