Chapter three

We sit down, the gravel crunching beneath us and face the gang.

"Explain?" Zeke asks, his shocked expression stitched onto his face.

I look at Uri and he just shrugs. He has no idea how to do it either.

"It was strange, I..." i start.

"It was all white and glowing and then a gate appeared out of no where and then i saw Tris." He provides and i carry on.

"And we talked and we go through and we see my parents and Marlene and Will."

The tears start to fall from Chris' eyes.

"They said it wasn't our time and that you need us and to come back?" It was more of a question than an answer.

I open my mouth to tell Christina about the letter but I stop myself because as I put my hand in my pocket, all I can feel is the rough interior fabric.

"The last thing I remember was Will and Marlene telling us to make sure that we look after you and then,"

"We woke up in the hospital and went to find each other and you."

They sit in a stunned silence and I wring my hands anxiously. I cuddle into Four's side and he instinctively wraps a protective arm around me. I notice somethings a little off but it's only now that I realise what it is.

"Guys, where's Lynn?" I ask suddenly.

They look a little confused. We don't exactly have a very open relationship and we definitely don't hug but we are actually really close and she's like my sister.

"Um, I think she went towards the cliff?" I hear a distinctly male voice.

"Matthew?" I ask incredulously.

"Wait what? Tris? Uriah? But...but...you're...dead?" He stutters.

I jump up and give him a hug. Even though he worked for David and other things, he was one of the only people originating from the Bureau that treated me like a human and not an experiment. I see Tobias stiffen out of the corner of my eye. Is he jealous?

"Get the others to explain. We need to find Lynn."

"Tris, why is this so urgent?" I hear Shauna ask and it irks me that she isn't more concerned for her sister.

"I don't know. Call it a gut feeling." I say and Uriah hops up next to me.

"Jump on." He say and I do gratefully before he begins running towards the cliff protruding from the edge of the glass building. The constant pounding of footsteps tell me that the rest of the gang are following us and I smile.

I feel Uriah tiring beneath me and I stop him, before jumping off. He looks at me but I brush it off.

"I'm OK. I can walk."

We walk side by side for half a mile before a force barrels into me and sweeps my off my feet. I flip myself over their shoulder and land on their back as they grab my thighs to hoist me up higher. I looks down at Four's brown curls and grin. That is until I see a figure on the edge.

I push myself off him and break into a sprint before launching myself at them...
