A/N: Hey, guys! In the previous chapter, Little Mac faced and defeated Donkey Kong in a boxing match. Let's see what will happen now.

Chapter 21: Champion challenge not for faint-hearted: VS Mike Tyson

(''Fire Powered Ship- Final Fantasy V GBA OST'')

Little Mac spent a whole week training, often being tormented by the annoying presence of paparazzi or some fans too many. One day, in early May, he was joined by Doc Louis. ''Hey, Mac. Your feats have impressed boxing world champion Mike Tyson(1), and he would like to face you next week on Sunday evening.''

The young champion could not believe what he had heard. ''Really? I feel very excited just to hear it!'' he said.

''I know. Great Tiger and the other boxers did this for you.'' Doc said, handing him special boxing clothes: they were red and white striped shorts, yellow shoes as gold and a tank top of the same color.

He noticed something special in the tank top, his image at the bottom and the symbol of an animal on the sleeves. It was a large rampant feline, certainly bigger than a lion, which made him think it was a liger, a cross between a male lion and a female tiger, but it also had two large and wide wings like that of an eagle, and its eyes had a determined look.(2) He put on those new clothes and looked himself in the mirror in the bathroom. ''Wow, these clothes are perfect! I think I will wear these next week! Doc, tell the other boxers they did a great job!'' he exclaimed, happy with his new clothes.

The coach chuckled. ''Cool, huh? Great Tiger, Bear Hugger, Soda Popinski, Super Macho Man, Bald Bull and the other boxers have worked hard to make them, and the design for the symbolic animal has been chosen by them. Donkey Kong also made his contribution.'' he said. ''Millions of people around the world have learned about next week's match, and will see it on TV.''

Over the course of the week, Mac trained with the other boxers and Doc for the match with Mike Tyson. During the training, he also trained to increase his attack speed with Piston Honda, and, on the last day, he ran with the other boxers around the city, managing to keep up even with the Japanese and Donkey Kong and also being followed by many passersby who cheered on him.

On the evening of the match, Mac stepped into the ring and joined a muscular man with dark skin and short black hair. It was him, Mike Tyson, also known as Kid Dynamite. He was 21 years old and was a heavyweight from Catskill, New York, 1.81 meters (5 feet and 11 inches and a half) tall and weighting 100 kg (220 lbs.). He was wearing red boxing gloves and shorts and black shoes and was shirtless. ''No offense, but I thought you were a little taller.'' he said.

The young boxer was not at all offended, only determined. ''No, it's OK. I got used to it. Let's give it all we got, Champ!'' he replied.

Donkey Kong was near the ring with Doc Louis and the other boxers, and everyone was cheering for Mac. His parents had not been able to go directly to the match, but they watched him on TV instead. This time, the referee was different, with a red hat and a thick black mustache(3). He was certainly a special guest familiar to Mac.

''Start!'' he shouted, and the match began.

(''Eye of the Tiger- Survivor'')

''The match between the world champion Mike Tyson and the young WVBA champion Little Mac begins!'' said the commentator.

Mike Tyson attacked first with an uppercut that Mac dodged before hitting him in the face four times, then also dodged an overhand. During the first round, repeated blows were exchanged for very powerful uppercuts, crosses and overhand.

''They look absolutely evenly matched.'' Doc observed.

Donkey Kong nodded and smiled, agreeing with him. If Mac had managed to defeat him, he could do this against Tyson as well.

''That's true, but Mac doesn't have Mike Tyson's stamina.'' said Great Tiger.

''Du kannst es schaffen, Mac! (You can do it, Mac!)'' shouted Von Kaiser.

''Fight with everything you have, ''American Brother''!'' yelled Soda Popinski.

Within a minute of the end, both boxers had taken many hits, and nobody was going to give in.

''There isn't a moment of respite in this match, they are both giving 200%!'' shouted the commentator.

Within ten seconds, Mac hit Mike with an overhand followed by a fiery punch, which knocked him over. The referee started counting.

''1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6-''

''Not bad. But do you think you can keep up with the strength of my fists?'' asked Mike Tyson, after getting up.

''If it is an unforgettable match what you want, I will give it to you!'' replied Mac, determined as always. He hit the opponent three times in the stomach, but a powerful right uppercut on the chin followed by a left jab and a powerful overhand to the liver knocked him to the mat thirty-five seconds at the end of the first round.

''1! 2! 3-''

The younger boxer immediately got up as if nothing had happened. Throughout the rest of the round, blows were exchanged continuously until the bell rang.

''Mike Tyson is very strong, Mac, but you are more agile. Use your agility and don't give up!'' said Doc.

''Mac, after all you've done so far, this is your final challenge for now. I know you can do it.'' said Bald Bull.

''¡Puede ganar, Mac! ¡Ninguno es mejor de ti! (You can win, Mac! Nobody is better than you!)'' shouted Don Flamenco.

While everyone cheered, King Hippo also nodded to Mac, who nodded back, and the second round began. During the second round, Mike Tyson fought defensively, dodging or blocking several of Mac's blows. ''He's really fast!'' the young boxer thought, finding himself in trouble for about thirty seconds. As he fought, he began to think of a tactic to force him to drop his guard and decided not to cover himself anymore with his boxing gloves. This worked, attracting Tyson and forcing him to come closer to attack with an uppercut, and Mac arched his back backwards, dodging the attack and hitting with his own uppercut. Another powerful uppercut from Tyson threw him away, but he used the pillar to his advantage to hit him with a hook downward, hitting him in the face and causing serious damage to him. The younger boxer, however, a minute after the start of the round, suffered a series of extremely fast but powerful uppercuts which made him fall for the second time.

''1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6-''

Mac got up and kept fighting, moving quickly to the side and hitting Mike Tyson with an electric punch in the stomach followed by an overhand and an uppercut, then dodging a left hook and hitting with a powerful cross that made him fall to the mat for the second time, with bruises on the face. One minute and forty seconds were left.

''1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6! 7-''

''You are really strong, Mac! I am amazed at your techniques, where did you learn them?'' asked Mike curiously.

''During my training, I have awakened several dormant techniques in me. You'll see them all!'' said Mac.

During the fight, the two boxers were framed, and judging by their faces, they seemed having fun by the match, and everyone noticed it.

''Look at them, they are not taking the match too seriously.'' remarked Great Tiger.

''They seem to be enjoying themselves.'' said Super Macho Man.

''Ah, Mac, il nous influence toujours! (Ah, Mac, he always affects us!)'' exclaimed Glass Joe.

Donkey Kong beat his chest in excitement.

Throughout the second half of the second round, both boxers exchanged punches with all their strength and agility and tried to be smarter than the other, as in a complex chess game and exchanging blows, fighting with a perfect mix of strength and speed, and this continued in the third and final round.

''I don't know about you, but I'm having a great time.'' said Mac.

''I agree! I'm not even taking the match as seriously as the others, it's different!'' Mike Tyson replied. He then attacked with a left hook followed by a right one, and the boy stopped him. During the round, the two continued to dodge and hit each other.

''What a fight! I don't even know who will win!'' exclaimed the commentator.

''Over ten million people around the world are following this fantastic match! My heart is beating fast!'' cried Disco Kid.

''These two boxers are of equal strength, they can both win!'' exclaimed Super Macho Man.

''Show him the eye of the tiger, Mac!'' cried Great Tiger.

While the audience cheered loudly, the boxers fought even harder than before.

Mike Tyson felt very excited. ''YES! THIS IS HOW A REAL BOXING MATCH'S SUPPOSED TO BE!'' he screamed.

Soda Popinski was as excited as the older boxer. ''I agree with Tyson. This match is like, the best ever!'' he shouted.

Aran Ryan was amazed. ''Wow! What a match!'' he exclaimed.

By the middle of the round, both boxers had fallen to the ground once and were tired and ready to end the match in the best way. Mac created a star shape with his fists, surrounded by a blue aura, and Tyson's fist was surrounded by a red aura. ''Let's end this match with a bang, Mac!'' shouted the older boxer.

''Well said! LET'S DO IT!'' Mac replied, and both boxers launched towards each other, their fists colliding.

''The attacks of the two boxers collide! Who will prevail?'' said the commentator.

For several seconds, the two boxers were in a situation of absolute equality, but Mac heard the screams of Doc Louis and all the boxers, who cheered him on.

''You can do it, Mac!'' yelled Bear Hugger.

''Saidai pawa! (Full power!)'' Piston Honda.

''Get him, Champ!'' Super Macho Man.

''You're not the Champion for nothing, Mac! Come on!'' Aran Ryan.

''Tu peux gagner, Mac!'' (You can win, Mac!) Glass Joe.

''GO, MAC!'' Great Tiger, Bald Bull and Disco Kid.

''GET HIM, ''AMERICAN BROTHER''!'' Soda Popinski.

''Hit with all your might, Mac! Full power!'' Doc.

Donkey Kong let out loud monkey sounds, also cheering for Mac.

Mac let out a lion-like roar and closed his eyes, feeling all the strength of his body, his mind and his spirit and accumulating it in his right fist. He felt that this power was not only his, but also of Doc and the other boxers, thinking that they had passed it on to him. With a scream, he detached his fist from Mike's before hitting him on the chest with his Star Punch, releasing a star with a lion's head that snarled, and Tyson also hit the opponent in the stomach. The force of those attacks caused an explosion that covered the ring in a thick cloud of smoke, and there were forty seconds left.

The smoke cleared, and both boxers were on the ground. Albeit with difficulty, Mac got up and let out a roar, while Mike Tyson was very tired and could barely get up. He got up and looked at Mac with a small smile. ''Nice one...'' he murmured, before his body gave way and fell on the ropes. He did not get up.

The referee was incredulous and shocked by the result, but regained his composure. ''MIKE TYSON IS KO! LITTLE MAC WINS!'' he yelled, loud and clear.

(''Victory! (Wild Pokémon)- Pokémon X and Y OST'')

The audience and other boxers began to stand ovation and scream at the top their lungs for of Little Mac winning, as he immediately posed and helped Mike Tyson get up. Jumping down from the corner of the ring, he felt Doc and the oher's bodies and the against his, hugging him tightly or ruffling his hair and with so many screams that they seemed as if they were fused together as they congratulated him.

''I DON'T BELIEVE THAT! LITTLE MAC HAS DEFEATED THE WORLD CHAMPION! AM I DREAMING OR AM I AWAKE?!'' screamed the commentator.

''Wow. I can't believe you managed to beat me, Mac. You were really amazing.'' Mike congratulated.

''Thanks, you too. Sometimes I surprise myself when I can win against tough opponents like you.'' Mac replied.

''You know, this match was very exciting, I felt emotions that I barely felt in other matches. And you, you're only seventeen, so it's amazing that you, at such a young age and before you even come of age, managed not only to defeat so many heavyweights, but even a world champion like me.'' said Tyson, and the two boxers shook hands.

''It always seems that you succeed in the impossible! Come on, Mac, let's go party!'' said Doc, leaving the ring with all the boxers and Donkey Kong. They didn't know, however, that someone was watching them secretly.

A/N: Another match, another surprise! Little Mac managed to defeat Mike Tyson! But who is it that is secretly watching Mac and the others? Find out in the next chapter! See you soon!

(1): The game for NES has Mike Tyson as a special opponent. However, he lost the title in 1990 and Nintendo's contract with permission to use him had expired, so instead of renewing the contract, it was decided to make a second edition of the game that replaces Mike Tyson with Mr. Dream, who acts in the same way.

(2): As Mac switches from one Circuit to another, his clothes change color, from green and black in the Minor Circuit to light blue in the Major Circuit up to the red and blue white of the American flag in the World Circuit. This outfit is based on what he wears in the Title Defense mode.

(3): A reference to the NES game, in which Mario appears as the referee.
