Bon sighed in relief as his friends listed the students they had managed to interest in the Cram school. He honestly wasn't sure that anyone would actually join, but they had somehow managed to get 8 students, which was over the minimum requirement from Mephisto.
"Bon!" He jumped and turned to see Koneko looking at him.
"Woah, you kinda spaced out there man, you ok?" Shima commented.
"I'm fine, just thinking about the school. Has anyone spoken to Yukio recently?"
"He called like a week ago, but apparently travelling Europe to fight demons is taking up a lot of time." Koneko stated. "Anyway we've managed to get enough students for the school but we need to figure out how to explain all the demon stuff to people who've never known about their existence."
"I forgot they wouldn't have any prior knowledge if I'm honest, that's gonna be a bit of a pain."
It was at that moment when the door opened and in walked Kamiki and Shiemi. "We've just got a full syllabus handed to us by Mephisto, so I'm assuming you guys don't have it yet?" Kamiki said.
"Wait why'd he hand it to you, I thought he said he'd give it to us here?"
"Seems he had a change of plans, he looked like he was in a hurry, which is honestly surprising because how the hell could the demon king of time and space be late?"
Meanwhile Takumi found himself going to Keito for help. He had to talk to someone about his argument with Naruta or he was gonna go insane. He found Keito on his phone in the lounge, and walked towards him.
"Hey Keito."
"Takumi, hi. How are you, I feel like we've not spoken in weeks."
"I uh need to speak to you about something. You're probably gonna think I'm insane or something but I need to get it off my chest."
"Woah, slow down Takumi, are you okay?"
"I'm fine it's just... right so you know how I had that fight with Naruta?"
"Yeah, what was that all about anyway, its not like you to get into arguments."
"Well after class that day two people had approached us. They were going on about demons and everything and I honestly wouldn't have believed them but I saw one myself. Naruta was rude and just stormed off but we got into an argument about it and I went back. They were offering me a chance to learn to fight demons at like a-"
"Cram School"
"Yeah- wait what? How do you know about that?"
"Two kids approached me too, after a class like a week ago, this pink haired dude and a purple haired girl."
"I got approached by different people but do you think they're working together?"
"It's more that likely. So did you accept?"
"Yeah, I want to learn how to defend myself, what about you?"
"Yeah, I mean, I kinda figured why not."
"Wait, you guys are joining a demon fighting cram school, wow I didn't think you guys believed in that kind of thing." A voice spoke from behind them, making both Takumi and Keito jumped. Turning round they spotted Juyo staring at them with a joyful face on. "I guess just incase you've both lost it I should probably go too, any chance you could sign me up as well?"
"What the hell, Juyo? You can't just sneak up on us like that!" Keito sputtered.
"Wait more importantly how come your first reaction isn't that we've lost it?" Takumi asked.
"You're surprised I'm not calling you loopy? You know me better than that Takumi, I'm offended. Anyway, if this is real, it will be like an anime, I could be like really badass or something. No way are you two having all the fun."
Sighing, but ultimately not that surprised, Keito decided that nothing all that bad could come from this. "I'll send an email to the dude who told me about it and tell them someone else wants to join."
Across campus Naruta found himself sighing, he'd just finished his final class of the day but unfortunately he still had to walk all the way to the dorms before he could sleep.
"Well isn't this a surprise, I'm rather ashamed to admit that I was actually fooled by you."
Rin found himself jumping at that voice, anger curling inside him.
"Are you not going to speak to your brother, Rin, I mean I was honestly sad about your demise. Now tell me how exactly did you manage to fool even myself with such a ploy."
"What do you want Mephisto?" Rin states harshly.
"Now now that's no way to speak to someone who only just realised you were still alive." Rin span round and glared at the clown, a clear look of desperation in his otherwise fierce eyes.
"Please just let me live in peace, you must have realised that's what it was all for. You yourself have spent your life with freedom at least use some empathy, if you're capable of expressing it and leave me be."
"How about we make a deal. I will allow you to continue your life as it currently is and not inform either the Vatican, your ex-classmates or your dear brother of your continued life, if you join that cram school your ex-friends offered you to join."
"What? How does that benefit you Mephisto, or myself for that matter, considering how well hiding my identity from them worked out last time?"
"Now that's none of your business, however you do have the option to refuse. It would just mean the entirety of The Vatican after you. I'm not asking you to become an exorcist, just stay until the exwire exam and you'll be free to go. Your choice."
Gritting his teeth, Rin thought about his options. Neither was positive however he knew that one at least had a chance of freedom.
"I can see you've made up your mind, now chop chop, you better inform that friend of yours of your plan to join them." And with a poof Mephisto was gone. Rin found himself collapsing onto a bench on the side of the path. How the hell was he supposed to do this?

So that's a wrap! First things first. I know I've not updated in like six months and my reasoning is pretty basic. I kinda jump about fandoms and my interest in them and I've not really had a major interest in Blue Exorcist for a while. But now I'm back, and whilst I cannot promise longer chapters or more updates I can firmly state that the story is not cancelled.
In other info throughout the past two years I have grown enough to notice one clear thing. I am shit at writing dialogue. Quarantine has not helped that fact and I kinda live in the middle of nowhere so my contact outside of my family is limited to texting. So if anyone has any tips on how to write dialogue in a way that doesn't sound disjointed and odd, please comment them down below, alongside any other writing tips you have or any mistakes in the chapter you've noticed.
And most importantly thanks for reading my book and thanks to anyone who's commented, it means a lot.
Sincerely Emmie
