I'm very happy to know that "Harmony" has 17 favorites, 19 followers and 600 views so far. Thanks to all those who read and follow this story, I didn't expect such a good reception for this little story since my strong point is really the mystery and the suspense.

Chapter IV: 2 months later.

It was amazing how quickly time could pass sometimes, because those two months had definitely flown by for the young musician. Gar virtually had no time to be depressed about what happened with Tara because of Kory, Dick and Raven. They had given themselves the task of keeping him distracted at all times. Upon arriving at work, Raven kept him busy either by asking him for advice about songs or practicing with him when nobody else rented the studio. In addition, she was now in charge of designing the covers of the albums they were recording, so she would ask his opinion about the different sketches she made. When Raven went to work in the cafe, Kory was in charge of keeping an eye on him until Dick arrived. He would wait for Gar until he finished what he had to do, drop off Kory at home and then the two men would go out to fool around or drink. However, the amount of drinks Gar had was always supervised by Dick in his mother hen fashion. After that, they both would go to the latter's house where Gar had been staying because he still didn't feel able to go back to his own home. Kory made sure to keep Gar's house clean until he found the courage to face the place that witnessed all those days and nights he shared with Tara.

But that wasn't all that had happened during these last two months. As much as he tried not to get too close to Raven, it just happened. Despite their completely different personalities, they had become friends. Actually, they had become very good friends, to the point where they began to confide in each other about things that they had only shared with a few others. In Raven's case, it was things that she had only shared with Kory, including what her previous boss tried to do to her. She explained how she'd given him a "real" kick in the genitals. If it wasn't for the anger that Gar felt knowing what that asshole had proposed to Raven, he might have felt sorry for him. He could only imagine how painful that blow must have been. But, Gar simply couldn't and wouldn't have pity on him. For his part, he had told Raven about the ups and downs of his relationship with Tara. This let him blow off as much steam as he

needed to.

"Why don't you close that chapter once and for all?"

Raven asked him casually while he was handing her one of the coffee cups he had bought for both of them that morning. He just looked at her in surprise because he didn't understand what she meant.

She said with exasperation, "I mean you should go home, face her once and for all, and put an end to that part of your life, idiot. It's time for you to move on, because I don't think it's fair that only you continue to suffer while she enjoys her life with whoever she is with now."

"But..."

"I don't want any complaints from the man who built the road to his dream from scratch without any help from anyone," she interrupted before he could excuse himself in some stupid way, "you're an amazing man Garfield, so please don't act so pathetic in front of me."

The musician seemed to react to this last sentence and he looked at her strangely with a mixture of astonishment and disbelief. This translated into a strange grimace on his face.

"If it's going alone that you are worried about, then I can go with you if you like," she said.

"You would do that for me?" he asked, feeling strangely excited by his friend's offer.

"Of course. We are friends, right?" He nodded incessantly, snatching a smile from her as well, "then there is your answer, Gar."

"Thanks, Rae." He really liked to see her smile, as it was something she didn't do very often. But he liked it even more when she called him Gar. "You're the best."

"I know, but I've told you several times not to call me Rae." She pointed to her boots as she looked at him menacingly, "or do you need me to remind you next time with a kick?"

"No. Thanks... "

That weekend, she accompanied him to his house which was on the outskirts of town. The area was surrounded by an extensive forest which had rugged terrain of gravel and dirt roads. Raven followed behind him on her own motorcycle. Garfield did not have to worry about the road conditions as his 1000cc Suzuki GSX-R Dirt Bike could handle that and much more. That day, Raven learned that Gar was a big fan of motocross, supercross and freestyle motocross, also known as FMX. He had even participated in several FMX competitions showing off his best tricks, which had cost him over a hundred injuries. However, they also helped him pay for various things for the band and had given him enough money to set up the studio he was working in now. Even today, he still participated in those kinds of competitions because he was well known in that world. He used to be invited to all kinds of events, and in several of which, he had promoted the band. The band had even performed at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of these competitions.

"You just keep surprising me, Garfield," Raven said. When she saw how he had turned part of his yard into an FMX jumping track, she asked, "Did you pay for that with event money, too?"

"Yeah, it cost me a couple of fractures, but it was worth it," he said as he left his helmet on the

handlebars of his bike, "I love being surrounded by nature and I can do one of the things I love without bothering anyone, it's perfect."

Raven couldn't resist smiling when she saw the emotion of her boss as he mentioned the different tricks he could do, like which combinations had made him worthy of awards. He also talked about which tricks were worthy of several fractures, some really serious and others not so serious. Now, Raven understood why he didn't give much importance to the blow on his head the day she found him drunk. He was already accustomed to hurting himself and in worse ways than that. When the time came to enter Gar's imposing two-storey house, he suddenly became silent. He stood frozen in front of the door with the keys in his hand, staring at them as if they had some kind of ancient Egyptian curse or something. This made Raven exasperated again, who simply snatched the keys from him and opened the door.

"I told you I'd be here to help you," she reminded him while smirking, as she turned the keys on her index finger, "Tell me if you need a push to get in, too."

With a slight smile on his face, Gar shook his head. He mussed up her hair with one hand as he crossed the doorway into the house. There were several of Tara's things there, including clothes and a guitar that he had given her for her first year as a couple. However, he didn't collapse as he had thought he would when he saw all that. Perhaps it was because two months had already passed or because Raven was with him. Maybe it was both. Honestly it didn't matter much what the reason was; he was just ready to get rid of everything that had to do with Tara. With Raven's help, it didn't take him more than four hours to pick up everything from his ex-girlfriend or that was related to her.

"Now what am I supposed to do with all this?"

Cleaning up had been easy, but now he didn't know what to do. That's when Raven flashed a lighter in front of his face, smiling amusingly at the little flame.

"That's easy," she said, gently waving the flame back and forth before closing the lid of the lighter and extinguishing the flame, "let's have a Viking funeral."

They gathered all the things in the yard and placed them into a large cylindrical metal container. They added pieces of cloth, leaves, dry grass and several twigs which they found nearby. Then, they poured gasoline on it and Raven gave a box of matches to Gar so that he could do the honors. After hesitating for a couple of minutes, he felt Raven's hand on his back and was a little startled to see her next to him.

"I know it's not easy, Gar, but you need to keep going," she said softly, wrapping her arm around his back and glueing her side to his in something like a hug, "Just don't think about it too much and do it."

Encouraged by her words, he lit a match and dropped it in the container, which did not take long to start burning. Both of them took a couple of steps backwards while Gar put his arm around Raven's back and held her by the waist. She was a little surprised by this gesture, but she did not say anything or remove his hand. She just stayed by his side watching those memory-filled things burn to ashes. They remained motionless until the fire was completely extinguished. He turned to her and closed their distance in an embrace while hiding his face behind her shoulder.

"Gar?..."

"Just let me be like this for a moment, please." His voice broke and his body shook slightly, "I promise you that I will go back to my old self later, but for now, let me be like this a little longer."

"It's ok," she said gently, reciprocating the hug as she stroked his back comfortingly.

After all, there are things a man simply never wants to show a woman, and this was one of those. Raven understood this, so she stood by his side while he cried silently. He held onto her as if he feared she would disappear if he let her go. When he recovered, he separated from her, locked the door of his house and boarded his bike again as if nothing had happened.

"I'll accompany you home as a thank you for today," he said as he put his helmet back on, preventing her from seeing his face the whole time.

"If I let you take me home, will you promise to come back here later or go straight to Dick's house?" she questioned him, worried that he would go back to drinking uncontrollably like last time.

"I promise I'll come home and make a video call so you can see I'm not lying," he joked while he started his bike by revving the powerful engine, "Is that okay?"

"I'm fine with it," she agreed by getting on her bike and putting on her helmet, "but if you don't do it, I swear... I'll kick you so hard Gar, you'll have to say goodbye to your 'friend' and all your possible offspring for good. Do you understand?"

"Ouch, I'd say absolutely," he said and felt a chill when he imagined the scene, "but yeah, I got it, Rae."

After that, they both set off back to the city. As promised, Gar video called Raven as soon as he got home to prove that he had not lied and that he had come home sober as well. After that, they continued talking until late at night. When sleep finally overcame Raven, Gar had no choice but to end the call. He looked at the ceiling of his room and instead of getting depressed thinking about his ex, his mind traveled to the woman who had been his moral support that day. He evoked all of the memories he had with Raven since he had met her, from their arguments to the mutual jokes. From the rehearsal sessions to those arduous working days where the studio was saturated with clients all day long. The times when he went to visit her at the café where she worked just to annoy her a bit, accompanied by Dick, who had prevented her from killing him in countless situations. The moments when they went to buy food or coffee together to have the energy to endure the day's work. He also couldn't forget all the conversations they'd had so far.

Each of those memories were part of the best moments he had had in his life for a long time. While remembering them, he finally fell asleep. That night, she was the protagonist of his dreams. The version of Digital Love that she had sung played in the background, which made him sleep with a smile drawn on his lips.

When he woke up, the conclusion of that dream made his heart beat strongly. His breathing was agitated and he could swear that he could still feel the sensation of that woman's kisses on his lips. This left him with both the prevailing desire for more and the desire to never wake up.

"There's no point in denying it anymore," he sighed while closing his eyes to evoke the image of them making love in his dream. "I'm in love with her..."

Suddenly, what she had told him the day before came to his mind.

"I know it's not easy Gar, but you need to move on... just don't think about it so much and do it."

"That's just what I'm going to do Rae... just wait... "

Well, I hope you liked this fourth chapter too. In case your answer is positive, then I will be waiting for you next Sunday with the 5th chapter of this short story.

As you could see things started to move and Gar finally decided to take action. The question is: What will he do now?

The next chapter will be the last of the main story, then come the extra chapters or the special chapters where I will tell a couple of more interesting things, so don't miss them.

I will now respond to the comments.

Mikey457281: Thanks. So how did you like this chapter?

Golem XIV: As I told you before, I didn't expect anyone to write to me in Spanish and I'll take this opportunity to write back to you in Spanish anyway.

Well, that's all, folks. See you next Sunday at the same time and on the same channel. See ya.
