Hi. Finally here I am with the 5th chapter of "Harmony". Before we start, as always I want to take a moment to thank WilliamSurepaw for starting to read this little story.
Things to keep in mind in this chapter:
1) The song that appears here is a cover made by Pomplamoose again.
2) It wouldn't be a bad idea for you to listen to this song while you read the chapter.
3)This is the cover for this chapter: Bad Day | Daniel Powter | Pomplamoose ft. Johan Baker.
(copying this will help you find them quickly).
4) This song is a duet and to make it easier to know who is singing each verse, you should take into account the following reading code:
—Him: singing in italics.
—Her: singing in bold.
—Both: singing together in bold italics
I hope you enjoy this chapter too.

Chapter V: A month later… Raven's last day in the studio.
Raven's last day in the studio finally arrived. There was a certain atmosphere of sadness because none of those present wanted the girl to leave. They had all become very fond of her and wanted to continue rehearsing with her, but it wasn't possible. After she put so much effort into making the cover art for their albums, the director of an animation studio had been enchanted by her artistic style. Despite the rumours that were circulating about her, he decided to take a chance and offer her a contract. It was for a project that turned out to be much more successful than they expected, and this ended up opening the doors of the company to her.
That's why on this day, Gar had not only dressed formally, but had taken great pains to prepare a last farewell recording together with Raven. She had dedicated herself quite a bit to rehearsals with the guest singer, who was a very nice guy and committed to his work. He had agreed to this collaboration just because he loved the idea of singing together with her. However, the nice singer had a serious family mishap and could not attend that day, threatening to ruin the farewell they had prepared for Raven.
"I guess there's no other choice," said Garfield in a sigh to draw the attention of all present, "I'll sing Danny's part."
Everyone opened their eyes wide in amazement. No one had ever heard him sing in the ten years that the band had been together, not even in rehearsals or to set an example when he helped the singers.
"Man, I know none of you have ever heard me sing before, but at least I deserve a chance to try," he complained when he saw everyone's face.
"If you're sure you can do it, I don't have a problem," Raven said, drawing everyone's attention to her now. "After all, the worst thing that can happen is for you to make us all deaf with your garish voice."
"Let us make a bet then, if I lose because I suck," he enunciated, drawing everyone's attention back to himself, "I will gladly let you kick me in the crotch again."
"So what if you win?"
"You'll have to give me a good kiss, Rae," he smiled smugly, tapping his lips with his index finger, "but on the mouth. It's not worth the forehead, or the cheeks, or the nose, or anything else other than these pretty lips you see here. What do you say?"
A deathly silence fell over the studio as Raven and Gar fought intensely with their eyes to make the other person bend. But neither gave way and the tension in the air was so thick that it could easily be cut by a knife.
"What's going on, Rae?" Gar finally said, breaking the silence with a mocking smile. "Are you afraid of losing?"
"Of course not," she replied, holding out her hand to him, "I accept the challenge."
"Great," he nodded and shook her hand in closing the pact, "only I hope you do not retract it later, Rae."
"Same here, Gar."
They took their place in their respective booths, positioning themselves in front of the microphone. Another one of the guys in the group took his place on the drums. After giving the signal, the song finally started with the bassline. The name of the song was "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter and Gar would be the first to sing it.
Where is the moment we needed the most?
That was the first line that Gar sang, surprising everyone present with the good and melodious voice that their leader had been hiding for all these years. He dedicated a playful smile to Raven that conveyed a single message: "I think you lost the bet, Rae." She smiled at this amusedly, preparing to join him as the second voice in this verse.
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carrying on
For the chorus both voices would overlap, this time Raven's voice would stand out a little more than Gar's. It was if his voice was a support for hers, momentarily changing their roles to accompany her.
Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work up a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
With their eyes closed, they sang in unison, joining in so well in the chorus that a smile came to their lips as they sang together. They enjoyed every second of that moment as their hearts began to beat excitedly with every phrase and every verse they shared. It made their voices resonate together in pure harmony.
You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carrying on
This second verse was sung together with Gar's voice being the main one overlapping with hers. This time she accompanied him in a tone close to his own, only a little lower. They joined again in the chorus, changing roles again.
Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work up a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
At this point, the emotion that seized them both was reflected in their voices, in their faces and in the slight movements they made while with their eyes closed. They "felt" so many things: the music, the lyrics, the voice of the other person. They got goosebumps from what they could achieve together, making both of them yearn for the kiss that awaited them at the end.
Hmm yeah, you had a bad day
Ooh hoo you had a bad day
Ooh yeah, you had a bad day
You need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carrying on, ooh
The synchronization between them was so good that it was hard to believe that this was the first time that they sang together. The vibrations that they transmitted with their voices had all the members of the band smiling. They moved their mouths and sang along silently, flowing with the feeling that the two singers transmitted.
Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work up a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
The last part of the song had so much energy and so much emotion that everyone was engaged to the point that no one wanted it to end. Following Gar's lead, they repeated the last part until he gave the signal for closure. The whole studio fell into absolute silence again, just before the last beat marked the
end of the piece.
When Kory told them from the control room that she had stopped the recording, they all shouted at how incredible it had been. Gar and Raven only looked at each other directly in the eyes. They smiled slightly with contained emotion while they tried to regulate their breaths and the beating of their runaway hearts.
When they left their respective booths, they approached each other without breaking their visual connection. They ignored how everyone held their breaths and looked at them so as not to ruin the moment, Everyone knew that those two had had an interest in each other for some time. It was obvious from a distance, but for some strange cosmic reason neither of them had taken the first step. That was, until today, when Gar had dared to propose the bet. Even though he had won it from the beginning, he still knew how to play his cards well so as not to make it too obvious and avoid provoking Raven's pride.
Facing each other, they both smiled. Raven looked as though she was trying to see if there were any traps in all this. Gar simply enjoyed the moment and the expression she held. Little by little they came closer, giving in to the impulses of their bodies, which wanted contact more than anything else in the world. The need to see if their bodies were capable of resonating as well as their voices was too great to contain it now and...
"Just kiss her now, Gar!" shouted Kory exasperated that none of them had done anything yet.
Surprised by Kory's sudden scream, Gar turned to see her and it was then that Raven took advantage of the fact that Gar had decided to dress formally that day for their farewell. She stepped forward, grabbed his tie and pulled it tightly towards her. When he was forced to lower his head to her height, she kissed him intensely. His reaction at first was one of surprise, but then a smile formed on the musician's lips. He grabbed her by the waist and pressed her completely to his body. They deepened the kiss as Raven wrapped her delicate arms around his neck, drawing him closer to her. They received whistles and applause from the entire band who cheered them on with excitement.
When they finally parted, Gar smiled with a mixture of satisfaction and happiness. Raven gave him a smile full of mischief.
"Well?" said Gar smiling in the same way that Raven did, holding a hand to her face and caressing her cheek sweetly with his thumb. "What was that?"
"Wasn't the kiss clear enough for you?" she smiled mischievously as she connected her gaze with his, who was smiling the same way as she did, "I suppose we will have to repeat it for you to understand."
And so the two of them fused together again in a kiss. It was less wild than the previous one, but with the same meaning and the same need. This was something they had both been waiting on for a long time, but doubts prevented them from acting freely, let alone being honest and telling each other everything they felt.
"Does this mean you won't leave the band?" he dared to ask, receiving a strange look from her.
"What are you talking about?" Everyone felt a lump forming in their throat when she said that. "When did I say I was quitting the band? I may not be able to work here anymore, but I wasn't planning on leaving you, let alone the band. I was planning on asking if we could reschedule the rehearsal days so I could come."
They all cried out again, knowing that their muse would not abandon them after how well they had all bonded with her as a group. She only smiled, touched by the affection that everyone had for her. At the same time, she thanked Kory internally for dragging her to the studio that day and for pushing her to make that bet with Gar that would change her life completely. For her part, Kory cried with emotion as she dialed her boyfriend's number to tell him the good news.
"What's going on, Kory? You sound like you're crying. Is everything okay?" he asked worriedly on the other end of the line, ready to run out and get her if necessary.
"Oh, dear boyfriend, everything is more than fine. You don't have to worry because my tears are of happiness," she said, reassuring her boyfriend who waited for her to tell him the reason why she was so happy. "Gar and Raven are together as of today and... Oh, you would be so proud if you saw the way they both smile... They really love each other and I know that both will be very happy together. Raven will not be alone anymore and Gar will have someone wonderful by his side, what could be better than this?"
"I see. I'm very happy for them and especially for Raven." Suddenly, there was a pause on the other side of the line while Dick cleared his throat, "Would you like to go to dinner tonight, just you and me, to celebrate?"
"Sure, but wouldn't it be better if the four of us were there?" she asked innocently, making her boyfriend smile without knowing it.
"Not this time Kory, there's something I'd like to say just to you first. Do you understand...?"
"I think so," she didn't really understand anything, but she said so anyway.
"All right, I'll pick you up in an hour." There was a brief silence before he dared to add, "I love you, Kory."
"And I love you too..."
After this, she joined her friends in congratulating them on their newfound relationship, but Raven could tell that something was wrong with her.
"What is it, Kory?" she asked. This also drew Gar's attention and he quickly turned to his friend with concern.
"I called Dick to tell him what had happened and he invited me to dinner to celebrate. But when I asked him if that included you, he said not at this time because he needed to tell me something first. I really don't understand what he wants to do."
"That bastard. So this is what he meant by everything having to be perfect in order to propose to Kory." Raven thought as she exchanged a knowing glance with Gar, who had also known for some time that Dick was thinking of proposing to Kory. "I don't think you have to worry about that, Kory."
"Yes, you should go and have fun with him," added Gar, smiling broadly, "Oh, when you're done talking, congratulate him for me, okay?"
Kory only nodded in wonderment at him as Raven nudged him slightly in the ribs for being indiscreet. Fortunately, Kory was innocent enough not to realize what he wanted to tell her at the time.
Once everyone left, the newly formed couple went directly to Gar's house where they could be
completely sure that nothing and no one would interrupt them. They gave free rein to the desire that was eating at them and kissed passionately. Their hands moved over each other's skin at will, delighting in each other's bodies. He felt that he was going to go mad at the taste of the sweetly addictive nectar of his beloved's lips and at the glory of those beautiful, soft, perfect breasts. As he had suspected, they fit perfectly into the palms of his hands. He tasted them at his pleasure, while her agitated breathing and slight moaning prompted him to continue his work. One of his hands descended into her and stimulated her in preparation for the time to merge as one. For her part, Raven did not fall behind, taking control on several occasions to roam over the musician's well-formed body to her liking. Playing, kissing, licking and nibbling as she pleased, she excited her partner even more. He simply could not get enough of her, of her kisses and her caresses. But above all, he would never get enough of the way she rubbed against
him, slowly driving him crazy until he could not take it anymore and took control again.
Reaching the peak of sexual heat after an intense game of kisses and caresses, Gar positioned himself over her. He paused briefly to contemplate the naked body of the woman with whom he now shared his bed. He felt so happy that what was happening was not just a dream and that she was really there at that moment. She smiled at him in such a way that he could only react by kissing her. He felt her clinging to his back as he slowly slipped into her, until he was all the way in... they really were meant to fit together.
"Are you okay?" he asked before looking at her carefully, to which she gave him a beautiful smile and kissed him again sweetly.
"I'm fine, Gar," she whispered softly in his ear and then kissed him on the neck, "Go on..."
He began by moving his hips in a gentle swaying motion. Raven clung to him and matched his pace, groaning slightly and hesitantly. Their sounds gradually increased, along with the speed, rhythm and intensity of their movements. It excited them to the point where strong spasms ran through their bodies. Every second, the pleasure they both felt increased more and more, making them forget the tiredness and anything else besides the pleasant sensation that had taken over their bodies at that moment. They continued until they reached the limit of pleasure they could handle and… both reached orgasm, melting into one being in body and soul.
Exhausted and deeply satisfied, Gar let his sweaty body fall on top of her, breathing heavily. He was greeted by Raven's arms, who was also breathing heavily at that moment. They were like this for a couple of minutes until he removed his body from hers and dropped beside her on the bed. He extended his arm so that she could rest her head on it while he held her with the other.
"That was great, Rae," he smiled. He placed a kiss on his girlfriend's forehead, then tucked a rebellious lock of hair behind her ear, "Better than in my dreams."
"Really?" she replied by connecting her amethyst orbs to his emerald orbs, which he only nodded at with a smile, "Since when did you have such dreams?"
"Since you came home with me the first time," he confessed, "but you've been in my head ever since that time in the studio when you found me drunk. Do you remember?"
"How could I forget? I thought you were dead when I saw you," she looked back down at his chest, where she began to trace small circles with her finger as she spoke, "and you said I smelled good."
"And I almost died of shame," he said, laughing slightly as he remembered it, "when I met you I found you attractive and you had a very nice voice. But that was the first time I realized how beautiful you are and how good you smell... then, I had trouble keeping my eyes off you."
"Why didn't you say anything?" The little circles were starting to get a little bigger.
"I was heartbroken and thought I was confusing things," he confessed, delicately stroking Raven's soft, silky hair, enjoying the feeling it gave him, "plus, I had just met you and didn't want you to think badly of me."
"You idiot," she grunted, to which he lowered his gaze to hers, "we would have gotten to this point a lot sooner if you hadn't hesitated so much."
Gar said nothing. He just kept watching her silently and waited for her to finish what she had started, and Raven realized that she was hitting him in the chest again.
"When I first met you, I thought you weren't bad at all," she confessed by hiding her face in Gar's chest, to which he reacted by hugging her and kissing her head, "and I liked how you put that woman in her place... I also liked that you flattered my voice and said that I smelled good. Then, the more we shared, the more I liked spending time with you. Before I knew it, I was in love with you."
"When did you realize that...?"
"When I first came to this house."
Gar was very surprised by Raven's confession. It made him remember the day that she had accompanied him home to get rid of Tara's things. If he had dared to ask Raven to stay with him then, instead of running away in cowardice after the meaningful hug they shared that afternoon… Surely, both of them would have ended up making love as they did now. He parted from her and took her gently by the chin, making her connect her gaze with his. With her heart beating strongly against his chest, he took hold of her lips once more in a soft, deep kiss full of love and need. A kiss that would extend and be joined by caresses, that would gradually become more and more passionate. In turn, it would start the second part of the lovers' game that both had enjoyed so much. Their bodies would dance once more in complete and perfect synchronization while making love to each other. They would resonate together as only they could, connecting and adjusting to each other in perfect and unique harmony.
