We parted with the hunters a little later and continued on our way.
Finally, after another half-hour of walking, we arrived at Troy. The mist is so thick, I can't even un-see Troy and look at what the mortals see.
But what I saw was not what I expected to see.
Instead of gleaming white walls, a black obsidian wall sits beside the sea.
Instead of humans, I saw skeletal warriors holding spears and swords.
Instead of greeks, I saw Trojans.
Annabeth seemed to know I was thinking, "The Trojans retook Troy during the Battle of Manhatten."
"They were lead by Kronos?"
"Yes, one of the lieutenants of Kronos, Thoon."
"Thoon?" I wasn't sure I heard the name right. It certainly did not sound like the name of the evil Titan.
"Yes, Thoon, Seaweed Brain,"
"What happened to him, I mean in the first giant war,"
Annabeth shuddered, "He was killed by the fates, armed with bronze clubs."
I experience with the fates had not been pleasant, it involved a string and a dead son of Hermes, Luke. Luke has always been a touchy subject with Annabeth.
"Percy, look," Annabeth nudged me,
Coming out of the city was a zombie, he lost had his left eye and his right arm so he looked like he was lopsided.
"A Vrykolakas," Annabeth muttered,
"A what, again?" I asked, Wow, I thought, lots of monsters with unpronounceable names today.
"A Vrykolakas," She repeated, " a person could become a vrykolakas after death due to a sacrilegious way of life, ex-communication, or burial in unconsecrated ground."
"Thank you, Miss Wikipedia," I grumbled,
She rolled her eyes and muttered something about me being such a Seaweed Brain.
I looked back towards the city, the Zombie was leading the troops stationed outside the city in, along with the guards on the wall.
I tapped Annabeth on the shoulder she looked over and her eyes widened, This is our chance! She mouthed, follow me to the gate.
She put on her Yankees Cap and disappeared. I crouched and walked slowly with my pen in my hand when I finally reached the door I heard guards talking and when I was about to peek from the side, someone pulled me back.
"Percy," she hissed, "Be careful, there is a guard!" She took off her Yankees cap and reappeared. Suddenly, the talking stopped and I heard footsteps towards us, I was going to warn Annabeth but it was too late.
A skeletal warrior stepped out of the shadows and knocked us both out with a club.
