As soon as I ran into the hole, the side started to press against me, it seemed like it was always changing, just when I thought I was going left, the tunnel turned right. It was as if it could read my thoughts.
After a few minutes of playing with the tunnel "Try to get this innocent demi-god to be eaten by monsters" and a few close encounters, I heard Annabeth again, somewhere in the distance.
When I finally arrived at the cave, things were not going as well as I expected:
The good news, Annabeth was there.
The bad news, Annabeth was tied by above a bonfire, gagged and knocked unconscious, along with an evil demigod-eating cyclops about 12 feet tall who is going to cook her for dinner.
The cyclops turned, grinned, and said in a cruel tone, "Ah, there you are, I was looking for desert just a second ago!"
He stood up and trampled over to me, holding a double-sided hammer,
"Now don't move, little punny demigod, I am just going to smash your brains out, drink your blood, then eat you after I eat the girl for lunch!"
"I am nobody's demigod meat" I growled, pulling out my sword.
The Cyclops looked at me as if deciding whether to laugh or kill me.
During that time I thought about my chances of defeating the cyclops.
Fighting? Don't even think about it.
Tactics? I am not a tactician. That is Annabeth's job.
That left one option: Trickery
He decided on killing me. He raised his war hammer and when he was about to bring it down, I shouted,
"WAIT!"
The cyclops stopped and answered in a grumpy voice,
"What do you want to say, son of Poseidon?"
I made a quick note in my head to ask him how he knew my father was Poseidon but right now I had a more important thing to do right now, and that is NOT TO DIE.
"Be for you to eat me for dinner, I wanted your name, so I simply tremble to death at your name."
"How considerate of you," He said, "My name is Arge, and I am the cyclops of lightning!"
I stepped back and pretended I was hurt, lowering my head and brainstorming ways to get out of this mess.
He grinned at me, clearly pleased with his boasting,
"I am the son of Gaia and Uranus, the primordial Titans of the Earth and the Sky."
I fake felled to the ground and thought The Earth and the Sky, and a plan formed in my head (I know what you are thinking, WOW, Percy, you made a plan!? I know it surprised me too.)
"You say you are the son of Gaia and Uranus?" I looked up,
"Yes?" Arge's smile melted.
I stood up, "You know you just told me your weakness right,"
He looked shocked like he thought my "wounds" had just magically healed.
"Uh, no?"
"You know what your parents aren't the Titan of?"
But before he could say anything, I thrust out my hands and summons water at him, waves sailed in from all around the room, and crushed him, turning him into a pile of disgusting monster dust.
