"Your late," Annabeth grumbled, she swatted my arm playfully, as I untied her from the rope and caught her.
"You ok?" I asked,
"I am fine," She said, clearly not fine, when she tried to stand up she said groggily,
"Why is everything upside down?" and proceed to fall over, almost into the bone fire before I caught her.
I helped Annabeth down and gave her some ambrosia and nectar. She sat on my legs and cuddled against me, sharing our warmth. The bonfire had gone out when I crushed the cyclops with water, the only lighting in this room was the torched placed on the side of the room.
"Percy…" Annabeth looked at me concerned,
"You're fine, Annabeth, rest," I instructed gently.
"No, Percy, I've been here before," she said with tears at the corners of her eyes, "That cyclops, Percy, he was the one that almost killed me ten years ago."
I thought back to the stories Annabeth told me about her journeys with Luke and Thalia, apparently, Grover took some wrong turns in the Labyrinth and led them here, which was a cyclops lair. The cyclopes Arge separated them, using their parent's voice to separate them. Everyone but Annabeth got captured. After wandering around, she found where Arge was keeping Thalia, Luke, and Grover, who was hanging over a pot. Arge tried to lure Annabeth to him by imitating her father's voice, but instead of going to the voice and getting captured as well, she stabbed him hard in the foot and untied Thalia, who then took care of everything else.
But apparently, Arge came back from Tartarus and is haunting the mortal world again.
"Annabeth," I looked her in the eyes, which were stormy grey, but today, they were extra stormy.
"You feeling better?"
"I am ok," She snuggled against me.
"Come on, I'll tell you what happened after we were knocked out,"
I told her about walking through the tunnels and my meeting with one of the fates. I showed her my sword, and her eye widened.
"That is Perseus's sword!" She exclaimed, "This was the sword he used when he slew Medusa. After he died, the sword went missing, but here it is."
I frowned, "Perseus? You don't me do you?"
She smiled, "No, Seaweed Brain, the Original Perseus
"But why was it in a Hermes Express Box?"
Her expression turned serious, "I don't know, Seaweed Brain, maybe they just thought it was a sickle was something. I think the sword curses anyone named Perseus to use it again."
My expression must again be princeless, cause Annabeth burst out laughing.
"Come on, Seaweed Brain, we should get going. By the way, I was just kidding."
