Annabeth recovered from the shock first and drew her Dagger.
The beast growled and stepped closer. It had bloodshot eyes, giant triangular teeth in its mouth, and claws like butchering knives.
I drew my sword, its tip dipping low to the ground, and held out my hand.
"Good lion-headed horse-bodied giant creepy killing creature thingy, good giant creepy killing creature thingy."
It did not like me, so it charged. He ran like the wind if it was not for my quick reflects, I would have been ripped apart like a doll.
I jumped out of the way and stabbed my sword at its side.
The tip just bounced off, like his skin was titanium.
The beast made a high pitched sound like it's laughing.
"A Crocotta!" Annabeth called from somewhere behind me, "Go for its neck!"
The Crocotta apparently did not like someone telling me their weakness so it bounded after Annabeth.
"Annabeth!" I shouted, but the Crocotta was already near her. I did the only thing I could.
I threw my sword.
The blade bounced it's skin and skidded away, the Crocotta turned and bared its fangs.
Oops, I thought, That was NOT Riptide.
I backed up slowly, as the Crocotta made its way towards me. Annabeth stood up silently, holding her knife like a serial killer.
It launched itself forward tackling me to the ground, his clawing digging painfully into my palms.
It opened its mouth to bite (and just saying, his breath smelled terrible) my head off when he suddenly stiffened and fell me to the side, dissolving into dust.
Annabeth stood behind it, blood dripping from her blade. She held out her hand and lifted me up.
"Sometimes," She had a smug smile, "I still need me to save your γλουτός (Ancient Greek for "butt")"
Where the Crocotta died, what was left was a Crocotta claw dagger. It had a leather grip and a sharp curved white claw.
Annabeth picked it up and slid it in her backpack while I walk over to my sword and retrieved it also.
Then she remembered something and pulled the dagger back out.
"What are you doing?" I asked as she started a fire with a match and some branches,
"We have to sacrifice the dagger to Dionysus, remember, he helped us with the Amphisbaena."
As much as I hate Mr. D, I had to thank him for helping us defeat the Amphisbaena by using a giant vine-branch if you even call that helping.
Also, if you forget your sacrifices… Well, things won't turn out well for you.
"O Lord, with whom Eros the subduer and the dark-eyed Nymphs and rosy Aphrodite play, you who haunt The high mountain peaks, I beseech you, come to me with kind disposition, hear and fulfill my prayer, please accept this offering, The Great Dionysus."
Annabeth chanted in a monotone while kneeling down and holding the knife with two hands.
The moment the dagger touched the flame, it disappeared with a small explosion that smelled like Diet Coke.
"Well," She stood up, wiping the dirt from her pants, "that's that, now, we still have the undead king to kill."
