Chat Noir: Black Cat
Chapter 1: Why?
Chat was normally happy and reckless.
He was always the one to take the hits and the one to jump infront of the shots to protect his partner. At first that seemed to be enough for the kitten.
Ladybug always would remind him of how important he was to her and how she couldn't do this without him by her side.
He knew better.
The city of Paris didn't care what Ladybug spoke of her partner, Chat Noir was labeled the 'sidekick' in all of their minds. Ladybug was the one who purified and fought the akuma's on her own and she would be the one to fix the city everytime.
Chat was just there to take the hits and destroy stuff.
Chat didn't care for what he was labeled, didn't care if the city only held celebrations for Ladybug's name and colors, he wouldn't pat an eye when the reporters completely ignored him and cheered for only Ladybug.
But there are somethings that made Chat very hurt.
A guardian was someone that protect the Kwami secrets and made sure the miraculous don't end up in the wrong hands. They provided important lessons and very needed support for any and all active miraculous wielders.
Ladybug had received much needed support and teachings from the guardian, that's how she became so competent and strong as a hero almost taking on three akumas by herself without needing Chat.
Chat never met the master except for once.
And that was it.
Chat would try to reason with the spotted heroine that he would be better at helping her if he too got training and support from Master Fu. He was her equal right? He was her other half.
Ladybug would start to get annoyed at his repeated attempts. She would huff in anger at him every time he asked, only answering him with a, the master will come to you when he needs to, its not the right time Chat.
Eventually, Hawkmoth started getting smarter with his akuma villains. He some how managed to break through the code of the book and enchanced his power to make much more deadlier akuma.
Ladybug was outmatched quickly. She was getting her ass kicked across Paris.
Then Chat came in.
The cat boy quickly put himself between the injured bug and the monster that was attacking her.
And he managed to hold his own against it.
Chat had been training himself to get better at using his power. His kwami Plagg was more than happy to exchange training tips for a few wheels of cheese.(and he wanted his kitten to rise against the blatant favoritism displayed by Master Fu)
Ladybug quickly used her chance and escaped to Master Fu's shop while Chat held the akuma off.
Chat fought bravely and valiantly until his backup came in the form of colorful lights jumping across the rooftops of Paris.
He smirked at the akuma as the superheroes stood behind him.
Chat was too tired to continue the fight so he sat down and watched the team fight in his stead while his wounds healed.
Rena Rouge, Queen Bee, Carapace, Pegasus, King Monkey and a new snake user that looked much more different than Luka.
Ladybug sat beside Chat as she was too injured and watched the fight play out.
Their backup was cheap as shit.
Everyone got their asses kicked and humiliated by the akuma.
Chat quickly stood back up and ran towards the akuma again. Fighting was his forte and he will give one hell of a fight towards anyone threatening his city.
Ladybug followed soon after.
"Miraculous Ladybug!" An exhausted looking Ladybug shouted as she threw a red spotted pencil into the night sky, making red beetles swarm Paris soon after, fixing and repairing the damage.
All of the wielders sat beside each other in a circle with Ladybug and Chat Noir at the head. Everyone of them was tired beyond belief at this monstrous thing they faced.
"Hawkmoth is getting more dangerous by the second." Ladybug sounded through the tired hero circle.
"I want to make this as clear as possible, I need all the help I can get here. That's why I want you guys to be by my side. You have all seen how dangerous the job is and I believe that all of you are capable to wield your miraculous permanently."
Shouts of surprise and amazement sounded as the tired team of heroes turned into jumping bundles of joy at the news of having become permanent heroes.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS! THANK YOU!" an excited Rena Rouge shouted as she shook the spotted heroin.
Ladybug laughed as she patted the shoulder of the fox holder.
Chat just smiled at his friends excitement, he knew that they deserved their powers but he couldn't shake the feeling of being left out as the group started taking off in the same direction with Ladybug.
"Lets go to Master Fu's he wants to give you all training schedules so that you will catch up to these new powered akuma."
Chat frowned at Ladybug as she said those words.
The feeling of loneliness and abandonment shot throw him immediately.
"Can I come too?"
everyone froze as they all looked at the lonely boy behind them. Ladybug looked a little guilty as she threw her yo-yo at a building.
"Sorry Chat but Master Fu sai-"
"Why doesn't he want me to come with the rest of you?"
Ladybug narrowed her eyes at the kitty feeling overwhelmed by her fatigue. "Why don't you just listen to orders and go home already! Master doesn't want you to enhance your power more than you already have and he won't let you train to become stronger. Just take an answer and stop pestering me."
The heroes all stood aghast at the heroine's harsh answer.
Everyone looked at the gobsmacked Chat as he glared at Ladybug. A glare that sent shivers down everyone's spine.
"What do you mean? Why doesn't Master Fu want me to become a better hero?" Chat asked confused and hurt.
Ladybug rolled her eyes at the boy. "Chat, your powers are literally bad luck and destruction! He doesn't want to have you maximize your powers because that would mean disaster to all of us! Bad luck and destruction that could destroy Paris! Thats why you wont be able to train with the master like us!"
Chat was beyond pissed at his lady's tone. She was shouting at him as if he was a child. "As you can see I handled myself without his training! I want to know why you don't trust me? Why do you always insist on following this old man that keeps me out of the loop while you and the others get all the information to get better! aren't I your partner, your other half." Chat was crying tears of pain and betrayal as he glared at the Ladybug.
By this point, all of Paris was watching the argument as the reporters surrounded the heroes and filmed the whole thing.
Ladybug was shocked and annoyed at the tone Chat took with her. She wasn't used to him arguing back like this. She looked around at her teammates and the reporters and felt the dread and tiredness of losing an argument with this ally cat in public. She was too exhausted to care what this useless boy was feeling.
He was betrayed. She knew this. But she couldn't careless.
"Oh grow up!" everyone flinched as Ladybug stepped closer to Chat with angry fire in her eyes.
Chat was shocked he took a step back. Why was she acting like this towards him! He was her best friend.
"You are the most incompetent and most useless wielder I have ever fought with! I spent more time saving you or fighting you than I do saving the city which is your job as well! You can't stop joking and flirting around to save any one's life. You're not even fit to be on this team so get your act together kitty cat and listen to what I say."
Chat couldn't take anymore of this shit.
He was pissed and angry at the bullshit he had heard from her mouth.
"Oh shut up your majesty, you can't fight anything on your own remember why I always get captured or compromised, its because you are to distracted to fight properly so I have to come in and take the tough hits while you get the akuma. Don't make this look like I'm here to play some game, the safety of Paris was, is, and well always be Number ONE TO ME! So screw you and screw your shitty Master that gave shitty people like you and Hawkmoth miraculous and let them tower over us like some greater gifts from god."
Ladybug looked kind of hurt by Chat's outburst.
"Hey shut your mouth!" Queen Bee shouted as she held Ladybug's hand.
Chat quickly looked at the girl furious that an outsider like Chloe got recognition while he was left in the dark on everything.
"Not only did he give powers to you and Hawkmoth, the old fool gave the resident bitch powers as well. You don't even ask me for advice to choose some of the knew wielders, I don't know what to do when I'm by myself while your distracted doing god knows what! What if I needed to have some backup and you were not available, huh? Guess I'm fucked?" Ladybug looked like she was going to cry as she heard her sweet Chat finally break his leash.
Queen Bee couldn't let his comment about her slide so she grabbed her weapon and shot it towards Chat.
The boy took hold of the string and threw Chloe into a nearby fountain. The blonde was drenched in the dirty waters of the fountain and was crying.
"YOU ASSHOLE!" Kim shouted as he jumped to punch the cat boy. Chat deflected and caught all of Kim's attacks, turns out cats had better reflex than monkeys.
Chat sent Kim flying with a good punch.
The new snake user activated his second chance and yelled for the rest to attack Chat Noir.
Chat's eyes widened. "What?! I was protecting myself! You saw them right?" Char desperately yelled towards Carapace and Rena Rouge.
Nino was looking alarmed and guilty as he held his shield up and followed Alya to attack Chat.
"Sorry but you really out to listen to Ladybug kitty." Rena said as she began activating Mirage to distract the cat while Pegasus surrounded Chat with portals.
Before he knew it, Chat was hammered by all the different members Monkey was jumping in the portals to kick and punch Chat everywhere while the cat was distracted by the many illusions attacking him courtesy of Rena Rouge.
Chloe got out of the fountain and started shooting at Chat behind his back piercing him all over. Everytime Chat would actually manage to escape the portal and illusion circle, Snake wielder would go back in time and warn the team of the opening Chat would use to escape. Carapace stood behind the rest and prepared to protect every one with his shell-terr in case a cataclysm was used.
Chat was beaten left right and center as he was overwhelmed.
"STOP!"
Everyone stopped as Chat fell on one knee in the middle of the circle. Blood and tears where all over him.
The boy looked broken and dead he could only raise his head a little bit to see Ladybug's disappointed glare.
"Chat Noir, as my previous partner please don't make me fight you. Just give up."
Chat Noir looked up into her eyes with his emerald ones burning with hatred and determination even through the bruises and the cuts he got.
"Your previous partner? So that's it? You find some knew shields to protect you and I'm suddenly without value?" Chat looked outraged and shocked towards the bug themed hero.
Ladybug shook her head and glared at him as she zipped her yo-yo and started twirling it.
She was ready to attack.
She was going to attack him.
Ladybug found herself relishing the fear in his eyes. But also feeling her chest tighten a bit.
Ladybug extended her arm and opened her palm as she twirled her yo-yo in her other one.
"Give me the black cat miraculous." she ordered.
Chat widened his eyes further as he sat up straight. "What?!" he couldn't believe after all this time he spent doing anything for her! She would just take his freedom away!
"You're not fit for such a dangerous miraculous. Your unstable to hold the power of destruction." Ladybug said seriously as she stepped at the boy.
Chat looked at Ladybug with a fearful expression as he stepped back.
A zap from the bee behind him made him remain in place.
He was cornered.
Portals, illusions, a sniper from behind, a fighter ready to jump and kick his ass using the portals, an impenetrable shield ready to cover him if he used cataclysm, a time altering miraculous user ready to go back in time in case Chat managed to escape, not to mention the best fighter among them of course, Ladybug.
He was cornered.
Everyone knew it. The whole world watched as Ladybug stepped closer to take the ring from the cornered cat. Waiting to see who was this boy that invoked the wrath of Ladybug was beneath the black leather mask.
Chat looked down as Ladybug stood infront of him.
"Give it." her voice soft yet firm. He would have done anything for her, and yet this wasn't what he expected when he pledged his loyalty to her.
"King Monkey activate Jubilation!" everyone turned to the snake holder as he had his arm on his wrist.
Kim did as he was told and was ready to throw the cupcake in his arm at the cat boy which would render all of Chat's powers useless.
Ladybug looked at the snake holder and gave a smile. "Thanks. I assume he didn't comply?"
the scaled hero nodded. As he kept his grip on his wrist.
Ladybug felt confident as she looked down at the beaten kitty. "Give it up Chaton, your outmatched. With my team behind me we can do anything."
the heroes shouted yeahs and thats rights in agreement as they watched the cat boy get up slowly.
Paris watched as the cat hero they loved was treated as if he was a common villain with no reason at all.
The world watched as The hero of bad luck and destruction picked his staff and laughed out loud.
A broken, blood chilling laugh of a mad man.
Then he fell silent.
Chat looked at Ladybug with an expression of absolute hatred that made her recoil in fear and surprise.
"You think that this team can protect this city?" his voice was smooth and calm it made everyone shiver and prepare their weapons.
Chat had an entirely new aura around him.
An aura of death.
"You think this team can help you defeat this new super powered Hawkmoth. You think you can all beat me down just because I'm not being a good boy!"
Everyone prepared themselves as Chat twirled his staff with fury in his eyes.
He gave a smirk to the cameras and winked."Alright Paris! This team of heroes will protect you! Lets see what they can do against me when I truly want to fight back!" he said cheerfully as he looked at Ladybug.
Even though she was overwhelmed with fear the sassy side in her won as she scoffed and prepared her legs into a jumping position.
"You barely survived if not for me ally cat, just give it up."
"ohh but that's no fun bugaboo! You want me to give you my only source of freedom and my friend while you and your new buddies go around dancing and playing with the Master that doesn't like me for the power he himself choose for me. And to top that you want me to be exposed infront of everyone! What if Hawkmoth saw this recording, which he will by the way, come on the whole world is probably watching, my entire life will be ruined! People would ask for my head just because I didn't kiss your ass!"
Ladybug was shocked at this. Thats right. She was gonna expose Chat to the world. What was she doing?
"Come on Ladybug kick his ass!" Rena shouted as she prepared countless illusions ready to strike.
Ladybug shook he head and looked around at her friends and teammates. People she trusted and choose.
Unlike this cat.
They were waiting by her side and protecting her.
"You wanna know the difference between them and me Ladybug?"
Chat's tone was icy cold and filled with venom as he glared with his staff at the ready.
Ladybug stared back with her yo-yo at the ready.
"What?"
Bluebell stared into emerald.
The world stopped and watched as destruction and creation were broken apart against each other. On camera.
Two halfs, ying and yang, Now enemies.
"I actually know what I'm doing."
With that, the black cat faced off against the newly formed team Miracle.
….And it was a complete cluster fuck.
*Flashback *
Ladybug saw the hunched figure of her friend as she landed on the rooftop.
She ran towards her kitty and quickly hugged him tight.
The boy broke into sobs as he sank deeper into his knees.
"shhh its okay kitty. I'm here."
"Why can't he love me! I tried everything and he still doesn't appreciate me! I always listen and yet he completely shuts me down." the boy howled as he held tightly onto her.
"I'm here for you Chaton. Always." she said softly as she patted him on the back.
Chat hugged her tighter.
Holding he only thing he valued in this life.
Always.
*End Flashback *
The entire world watched.
"This Najda Shamack on cable news-"
"Tom! Why is this happening?!" Sabine had tears as she watched the heart wrenching sight of the fight.
Tom held his wife dearly and watched as his hero was ambushed by his own partner.
He stayed silent. And watched.
"Sir! You need to see thi-"
"Yes, Nathalie. I've been watching since the beginning."
A White haired man sat with his fingers interlocked eyes focused on the screen.
An evil smirk on his face as he enjoyed the fight.
"Kagami look at this!"
A blunette turned to watch what here mother was pointing at.
She gasped and held her hand to her mouth.
"Adrien!" she whispered.
"Master! It happened! Plagg and Tikki were right! There was imbalance!" A dragon like Kwami shouted as he pointed at the screen while the rest of the kwamis gasped in shock as they watched the fight.
"Oh my god!"
An old man looked at his TV with fear and shock in his eyes.
The guardian has failed.
"Oh god!"
"Why is this happening?!"
"Chat Noir NO!"
"Why are they doing this?"
"NOOOOOO!"
"DON'T DO THI-"
"DAD! LADYBUG IS-"
"Jack come here look! He is-"
"Ladybug is-"
"LADYBUG IS LOSING!"
The whole world watched as Chat Noir and Ladybug faced each other.
The team around them prepared to jump the leather clad boy if he dared fight back against the leader.
"I actually know what I'm doing."
Ladybug jumped and avoided the staff that lunged at her.
"King Now!" Ladybug shouted as she landed beside Carapace.
Kim quickly threw his powered cupcake towards Chat.
The blonde cat fell on all fours and avoided the shooting cupcake. Making it enter through a portal and exit right through Pegasus's face.
"NO!"
"Max!"
"Dude!"
Pegasus lost his powers as Monkey's Jubilation effected his miraculous, making all the portals around Chat disappear.
"Do it now Theo!" Ladybug shouted at the snake holder she didn't care if she said his real name, he would go back in time anyway.
Chat smirked and lunged at King Monkey.
Ladybug looked behind her and saw the snake miraculous had powered down revealing Theo the artist behind her statue.
"Sorry bug, I guess its been more than five minutes." said the artist as he looked down.
Ladybug's eyes widened as she realized. "You've been wasting time on purpose!" Yelled the bug in outrage as she realized she had been duped to lose the time control advantage in this fight.
Chat extended his staff and jumped into the air, dodging all of Rena's clones and Queen's shots.
The cat boy didn't look beaten at all.
He was cornered.
And like a cat. He turned into a beast when he was cornered.
Chat landed on the floor as Rena's clones where dissipating one by one around him since Queen Bee was shooting blindly and breaking all the clones with her zaps as she tried to shoot Chat, but the cat boy was too quick and too feral.
No one could pinpoint where he was as the boy turned into a swoosh of black blur. Running and dodging every single shot and attack from each member of the team.
Chat quickly broke his staff in two and speeded towards King Monkey. The attacks Chat used were something demonic and insane from how crazy and fast they were.
"SAO STYLE BABY!" Chat yelled as he completely battered the Monkey with his two sticks without rest.
Chat quickly moved Monkey infront of him and used him as a shield against Queen Bee's zaps.
He threw the beaten monkey ontop of the useless Pegasus and bolted with insane speed into Chloe giving her a good punch to the gut which sent her flying into a car and knocking her out of the fight.
Chat dodged Rena's clones as the hot headed Alya was furious with how this boy was kicking them in the ass on his own.
She didn't expect Chat to just extend his staff really long and just wipe across the open space of the street, deleting all of her clones and leaving nothing of her power.
"AH SHIT!" Alya yelled as she covered her face from the black blur that was an angry Chat Noir coming straight at her.
"SHELL-TERR" Carapace yelled and covered his girlfriend with his special protection shell.
Alya wanted to kiss him right then and there as she smirked in relief at the oncoming Cat.
Chat ran like a bullet and gave the green shell one strong punch-
OH SHIT!
That, was a collective thought of many people (especially the people that were inside the shell.) because as soon as Chat's fist touched the green dome it shattered like glass around Alya.
The shocked fox only gaped as Chat picked his staff and delivered one good hit on her head, knocking her to the floor.
Carapace ran at Chat with his shield up in anger.
Chat met him with a fist to the stomach.
Just like his Shell-terr, Carapace went to the floor immediately after receiving a single punch from the black cat hero.
Chat looked behind him-
Ladybug kicked him by the heel into a car.
She was angry no furious!
Her friends! Her team!
Ladybug only saw red as she shot her yo-yo at Chat.
Chat looked at her as he got up with hatred and heartbreak.
His love! His partner!
He only saw darkness as he picked his staff and vaulted into the sky dodging the magical toy.
He dropped down at Ladybug with a kick, which she dodged and gave a strong punch to his face.
Chat ignored the pain and kicked Ladybug in the gut making her drop a few feet away.
He picked his staff and broke it again, holding the two staffs like swords once again and launching at Ladybug with a feral scream of pain and agony.
Ladybug dodged some strikes but his style was completely abnormal and fast.
Every hit she took, Ladybug swore to give Kim an entire cake from her parents bakery once this was done! Chat's hits were insanely powerful and quick!
Ladybug jumped away from the black sowrds-cat and wrapped him in her yo-yo, she threw him into a news van and jumped to deliver a good kick to the tied kitty.
Chat moved off the van and pulled the string of the yo-yo that was wrapped around him to get Ladybug closer to him. He gave her a headbutt which she recovered from quickly.
Ladybug wrapped her long legs around Chat's neck and head-scissored him to the floor.
Ladybug gave a smug smirk at the tied up kitty and moved to take his ring off.
There was one thing she did not take into account.
"CATACLYSM!"
Ladybug moved away and watched the string of her magical yo-yo disappear completely.
She was defenseless.
Chat bolted like a feral monster towards her picking his staff along the way. Ladybug couldn't believe how painful her partner's hits were as he wiped the floor with her with each hit.
After three painful hits, Ladybug was on the floor with Chat standing over her glaring.
The whole watched with baited breath.
Chat looked at the terrified reporters and news camera men.
He walked away from the beaten scared Ladybug.
"This is what going to stop Hawkmoth?!"
"I have beaten them in minutes!"
"Your heroes are children! And they called me the useless one! HA"
Every one watched as the sweet flirty Chat Noir started crying. He looked into Ladybug's eyes no longer caring if he was being filmed.
"I just wanted to be your friend."
although his words were soft and said in a whisper. The entire world heard them.
And Ladybug found tears running down her own eyes as she felt her heart shatter at his tone.
He was so broken.
So empty.
Chat looked at the camera one last time.
"I won't be giving my cat miraculous to anyone! Not to Hawkmoth or Ladybug or Master Fu or anyone! I will protect this city by my own rules. I don't care if you don't like me because of bad luck or whatever but I know there are good people in here and want to protect them! So if you want to hunt me down? Fine! I will still protect you!" with a few more tears he looked into the cameras with a face of absolute resolve.
The boy looked one final time at his old love.
Ladybug looked up at him with awe and guilt.
Chat Noir looked away and vaulted into the night.
He was the black cat.
A beast that had been cornered.
That is still cornered.
And they were team Miracle.
Beaten and broken. All over one of Paris's courtyards.
The whole world saw this and came to one conclusion.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?!
