David Haden is back. Shit. Shit. Shit. She hasn't thought properly in the past 25 minutes since she seen him whilst she stood speaking to all the highly ranked officers. There's 3 things going through her mind.

1 and probably the most scariest. He is going to want to talk to her.

2 He is drop dead gorgeous. Her heart is racing and she feels like she will pass out if she goes even 1 step forward.

3 this isn't like 6 and a half years ago. She is with Rafael now.

"Lieutenant Benson. Excuse me." A police officer says from behind her and it makes her jump a little.

"Hi. What's up?" She says thinking that her team have a case.

"I got told to give this to you."

"Okay thankyou." She says as the police officer hands her a note.

She opens the note and smiles a soft smile.

Meet me outside the room when it ends down the hallway.

DH.

Her heart skips a million beats and her mind goes blank. She sends a message to Rafael.

4:15PM: Going to make my own way home. Got some shopping to do text you when I'm back.

She doesn't want to however seeing David again has flicked a switch in her brain.

This could either be the worst or the best decision she's done.

15 minutes go by and the familar buzz in her jacket goes off.

4:30PM: Okay. Be careful.

She sends a quick I will and smiles.

It gets to 5:30PM and after a 2 and a half hour meeting they are finally dismissed. She walks down to the end of the hallway and sees David coming out of the room. He spots her and smiles as he walks over to her.

"Hi. It's good to see you." He says with a smile.

"Hi... Shall we... Shall we take the stairs? It'll be easier than waiting for all of them to leave and being crammed in the lifts."

She manages to stutter out.

She's nervous around him and tries not to look at him too much, however she is finding that very hard as he is handsome and she can't help looking at him.

"Sure. Are you okay?"

"Yes. I just don't want people to think things considering..." she trails off. Rafael Barba and Olivia are dating and have disclosed that. But she doesn't want to tell him that yet.

They silently walk down the steps and towards the door. There's a question that she wants to ask but she doesn't want to know the answer.

Come on Liv. It's only him. The guy you've thought about ever since he left. What really brings him back here?

"What you thinking about?" He asks. His voice makes her jump and she misses a step and trips.

He catches her just in time and she sees the worry on his face. Her heart is beating rapidly and she feels like at that moment in time the problems in her world vanishes and she's just with him. It feels... nice. His strong arms around her, the smell of his aftershave is comforting, just being in his arms is comforting to her.

Snap out of it Olivia. You are with Rafael. She can't even think about that at the moment. She just needs to get off these stairs. "Are you okay Olivia?" He says softly.

"Yes. S.. sorry." She stutters again. Dam.

What is this man doing to her?

She lifts away from him and continues down the stairs. They get to the exit and they leave together.

"How are you getting back home?" He asks with a soft smile on his face.

"I'm walking. I'm going to grab some takeaway on the way back."

"I may be out of line but... How about dinner?" David says.

Olivia is in two minds. This isn't 6 years ago anymore. She has a boyfriend now who, although she has only been with for a few months, loves her.

But on the other hand she wants to know about what David has been doing for past near 7 years since they last seen each other. His eyes are intoxicating. He is like a drug. He's addicting.

"Yes." She says. She doesn't think about anything other than seeing him. She doesn't want to think about Rafael now.

They reach a small Italian resturant a few streets away from 1PP and they get a table at the back of the restaurant.

"Lieutenant... wow. I knew you'd go far Olivia." He says after she sets down her badge.

She sips her wine and looks at her ID photo. "I hate that picture. There's a story behind it too."

David chuckles. "Go on."

"When they were doing the pictures the fire alarm went off and i got soaked from the rain. When i came back in i looked like a drown rat. Of course i was next so that jacket on that picture isn't mine."

"Who's is it?"

"Don Cragens. He wasn't getting his done as he was retiring the week after so I am wearing his jacket in that picture."

"I remember Cragen. He introduced. He was protective of you."

"Yeah. My team always have been to be honest. Don was like a dad to me. Still is. He's on a trip to Hawaii for the next couple of weeks."

"Lucky him. You look beautiful in that picture Olivia. You do anyway. I heard about the Lewis case. How are you after that?"

"I don't know. Honestly it was a tough situation. I can't look at vodka without wanting to be sick."

"Olivia I'm so sorry that shit happened to you. I would have loved to kick the bastards head in myself. Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah." She said thinking it was about the case. She is okay talking about it now. Testifying at the trial helps with that.

"Are you with anyone now?" He says.

"Yes." She says looking at him. His expression changes instantly. His eyes are more sad and almost hurt. Did he still want to be with her? "Are you?"

She says. It's the question she's wanted to know about since seeing him again.

"No. Since us...No." He says.

She feels like there more to the answer but she doesn't press him. They finish there food and then head out. They are walking down the street laughing and smiling and it is so easy and it feels like they have been doing this for years. David gets a cab for her and opens the door.

"Text me when your home so I know you are safe." He says handing her a piece of paper. Their hands touch and Olivia tries to not show that it affects her.

"Okay. Goodnight." she says with a little smile.

"Night."

She gets in the taxi and as it drives off looks at her hand. He could either be the most amazing thing ever to happen to her. Or he could be the nightmare she doesn't need right now.
