March 29th - 2019

Peter Parker stirred on his bed and eventually rubbed the sleep away from his eyes. He felt as if Hammerhead had been constantly smashing his forehead against his. The rays of the sun came pat through the curtains of the window and brought some warm light to his tired expression. He actually felt somewhat better by the exposure.

He grunted weakly and scanned the room with his eyes. He then turned himself to Gwen's side of their bed and noticed she wasn't there. He also noticed that he wasn't using his suit made of spandex, but only a boxer.

Peter slowly sat on the edge of the bed and brought both hands to his face. He tried to understand what had happened last night.

"He wasn't feeling well, probably a heavy headache,"

Peter heard the feminine voice coming from the living room.

"I'm worried too, but he should wake up soon, he heals surprisingly quickly as you know… yeah - I'm gonna call you if anything happens… okay, take care, bye"

He finally got off the bed as his feet made contact with the cold surface of the door. As he entered the living room, he spotted Gwen outside and leaned against the balcony, staring at the city. She had her arms crossed. She wore her pink and loose sleep shirt.

Peter approached her from behind and gently wrapped both arms around her waist, before resting his chin on her left shoulder. "Hey…"

Gwen was slightly surprised. "Peter! Are you feeling well...?" She looked up to him in his embrace.

"I'll... manage, Gwendy."

"You got me pretty worried last night. We've barely started living together and you're already crashing through the window."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

Gwen sighed. She barely slept through the night. "I just talked to Aunt May and tried to come up with a reasonable explanation as to why you couldn't call her back."

"I'll do that later. I promise."

She turned on his embrace and rested both her hands on his shoulders. "What happened… last night, bugboy? For a moment… I thought I'd lose you."

He cleared his throat. "I… I don't really know. I just followed this guy that looked to be a mugger… they entered the alley, and the next thing I see…" He gulped.

"... tell me, please?" She asked, gently.

He wanted to stop and not go any further. To just avoid telling her about last night. There was so much he just wanted to forget about it. He could see some eye bags below her deep green eyes. That just wasn't the life he wanted to give her were they to remain in a relationship.

Peter took a deep inhale. "I was looking for the pair, then out of nowhere, the alley was consumed by this green... smoke coming out of the manholes… then these cogs started to appear. I was back at the clocktower again and… Harry held you… he… I-I can't, Gwen. I can't go on any longer."

Gwen felt his muscles getting tense by the word 'clocktower'. She wrapped both arms around his chest and back. She buried her face on Peter's neck while he tightened his grip around her.

They stood in silence for a few couple of minutes, just enjoying each other's presence.

She whispered, "It was just a hallucination, I'm not going anywhere."

"I know..." He kissed the top of her golden hair.

"Maybe… maybe that gas you mentioned did something to you?" She looked up to his eyes and suggested.

"I guess that's the most reasonable explanation, but still… it seems like I was a target like I was set up."

"Do you think there's something else going on?"

"I don't know… but I have to look it up. It's too dangerous to have that gas lost in the city. I have to find who did this."

"... okay." Gwen closed her eyes. The thought of her boyfriend being in that state again was now one of her biggest fears. She couldn't afford to lose him after everything that they had been through.

He leaned backward and gently lifted her chin with his thumb, meeting those green eyes where he could lose himself by just glancing at them. "... you do know I have to catch whoever is responsible for this, right?"

"Just… let me know how you are doing with this, okay? I want no secrets between us."

"You got it, Gwen." He caressed her cheek with his thumb.

"... and I want you to always come back to me… in one piece, alright?"
He bit his lip.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Peter…"

"I will try my best." He hugged her again.

She rested her head against his chest. "You're… such a clown in the most inappropriate times... I can't believe I'm still dating you."

He caressed the back of her head. "Because you love me."

She laughed weakly and sighed once again. "I suppose I do."

Gwen understood that Spider-Man needed to be out there fighting crime and helping people. She realized she was one of the pillars that helped hold everything together, she needed to be strong for him. She only hoped she could do what he indirectly needed about her.

"I did something for you." Gwen smiled, softly. She grabbed his left hand and intertwined fingers as she led him to the kitchen.

"What do you mean?"

"If what your Aunt said is correct, then I believe you will love it." She continued, "Sit next to the counter."

"... yes, general."

Gwen opened the stove and retrieved a plate covered with another She walked back to Peter and placed the plate right in front of him.

"I'm not the best cook out there, far from it, but I think it's good, I mean, hopefully, it is because…"

He chuckled and interrupted her, "... I love everything you do for me."

Gwen smiled kindly. "Thank you… even if I know you're kinda lying."

"Of course I don't."

"Won't you see what I did just for you?" She asked, anxiously.

"Sorry, you're just hot in that shirt, that's all." She laughed shortly. Peter carefully removed the plate that covered Gwen's work, revealing an impressive cake that he loved since, like - forever.

"You made me cake? Thank you! You two were right." Peter leaned closer and kissed Gwen, enjoying the taste of her lips on his.

"You-are-welcome," Gwen said between the kisses. "I've meant do it yesterday but since you were out... I fell asleep."

"It's perfect." He grabbed a fork beside the plate and started to cut a slice of the cake. He brought the piece of silver to his mouth and tasted it slowly.

"So? It's good? Did you like it?" She questioned, excited. "Hm...?"

"It's really, really… really good," Peter mumbled while he ate the rest of the cake.

Gwen relaxed and smiled as she watched him eat the cake as if the world would end in a matter of seconds. Dating Peter Benjamin Parker, Spider-Man, there's a very real chance of that happening.

Satisfied, Peter finished his plate and looked up to his beautiful girlfriend before smiling. "Do you know that I love you?"

"You've said that a few times already." She bit her lips to appear serious, but that was something hard to achieve with Peter around. "I'm happy that you liked it. I'm going to take a shower now, okay? Gwen now spoke seductively and walked past Peter, adding a little sway to her hips as she headed towards their bedroom.

She stopped at their bedroom door, before turning to Peter just to give him one of those winks that can make him go crazier if she wanted to.

"Are you coming?"

"You bet your round butt that I will." He hurried towards her.

After taking an invigorating shower alongside his gorgeous girlfriend, Peter stepped out of the bathroom and entered their suite with a towel wrapped around his waist, exposing his muscular torso and arms. He left Gwen for another half an hour or so with whatever she still had to do during her shower.

I'm gonna go bankrupt when the electricity bill arrives...well at least it's for a good thing. What I'm saying… Gwen's the one that can afford most of this stuff.

Peter opened his part of the wardrobe and wore black shorts. He was about to close it once again but noticed the revamped suit hanging in front of him. It was far different since the last time he saw it or wore it, and that got his full attention.

"What in the…"

The red and blue were forever gone and were now replaced with a dark pattern that Peter had completely forgotten about it. They both did.

He placed the dark piece of spandex over their bed and tried to understand what could have caused that.

"No way that's dirt…"

He touched the chest section of the suit and felt that the material was now slipping easily. It was somehow stickier and the lenses were now bigger and curvier. It wasn't the same suit he was used to.

I have no idea what's going on...

"Oh, I almost forgot about it. Why is the suit now black?" Gwen questioned, standing behind him. She wore nothing but a bathrobe around her slim body.

Peter's eyes were still glued to the suit. "I haven't had a clue."

"I just know it was harder to take it off this time around… and I do know all about that."

"What do you mean?" He looked over his shoulder and finally landed his eyes all over her.

"I don't know... it didn't seem to leave you somehow."

He forgot about the subject within seconds as he devoured her with his eyes.

"You should take it off the spandex." She began to walk towards him.

"No, I mean...it isn't doing anything bad."

"You sure? Who knows what this… substance can do-"

"Trust me, it's fine." He was assured, convinced that it wouldn't harm him. He approached her and moved a single hand through the robe, before caressing the smooth skin around her belly.

"See something that you like?" She teased with a grin.

"Not with that bathrobe around you." He leaned down and started to trail kiss on the delicate and pale skin of her neck.

"That's too bad… I wasn't planning to take it off anytime soon."

Peter slowly wrapped his arms around Gwen. The trail of soft kisses stopped close to her ear as she released a moan. "There is always an exception." He whispered.

"Since… my... boyfriend…" She continued, "... just continue doing what you are doing. " Gwen ordered, enjoying his delicate ministrations.

Peter lifted her from the ground as Gwen wrapped her legs around his waist and gently pressed his head down to her neck. He carried her to bed and stood on top of Gwen, enjoying the friction of their bodies together. He clumsily kicked his suit off the bed.

They touched foreheads and looked at each other with eyes full of passion and desire. He placed a hand on Gwen's cheek and leaned down, kissing her sweet lips and in time, moving down to the lower parts of her body.

They wouldn't be able to talk for a few hours.

Ryker's Island - Curt Connor's Cell

"I won't ever hurt that boy or his family once again," Connors stated. "No matter what you try on me.",

Fiers stood in the corner of his cell. "You have no idea what you're playing with, Curt."

"You have been coming over for years… something's not going as planned."

"... you might be somewhat right." He continued, "... but would you dare go against me even if your family's safety is on the table? Think about Billy. What if he somehow got in contact with the serum you once took?"

"You wouldn't dare" Curt moved his eyes away from the man who was wearing a black suit.

The man in hat continued, "Harry would. He's close to being out of his mind. I don't doubt the things he could do to achieve what he wants. You know what the Osborns are capable of."

Connors instantly gazed at him. "I-I..."

"Think about it." Fiers cocked his head. "I will be back soon and I will be expecting an answer by then." He walked out of the cell and left Connors alone to his thoughts.

He couldn't bring himself to hurt Peter again, not after he forgave him for the Lizard's actions. At the same time, his son would be at risk if he refused to be part of Fiers' plans, and there isn't anything that he could do to stop it unless he somehow called an old friend first.

"I gotta say… you do look pretty hot with the new look," Gwen stated, lying on their bed and with the covers spread over her body.

Peter chuckled lightly as he dressed the upper part of the suit colored by a dark tonality of purple. "I'm glad you think so."

"Yeah, I mean… it accentuates your muscles." She eyed his toned chest before it was unfortunately covered by the spandex. "Don't forget to take a better look at the suit… what is covering it."

"Sure." He turned towards her. "So, what do you want to eat?"

"You know… it's been some time since I last ate Korean meatballs."

Peter sighed. "That place is on the other side of the city, Gwendolyn."

"So? You'll swing around anyways, quit complaining already." Gwen grunted, lightly.

Peter smiled, playfully. "Alright, alright… anything for you." He scoffed and stretched his arms, groaning as he exercised his muscles.

"I'm the luckiest girlfriend." Gwen winked. "You're so good that I should marry -" She stopped once she realized what she was about to say.

After grabbing his mask, Peter turned on his shoulder to focus on her. "I think I heard that. Do you want to…?"

Gwen brought the sheets up to her bare neck and shook her head awkwardly. "I didn't mean that I mean - no, like...yes, um... oh god, I was joking, but I...I-I love you."

Peter noticed she was changing the subject so he went along. "You should, cause I don't think that there's anyone else besides me… that would be willing to cross the city for food." He put his mask on and only left his mouth exposed.

Gwen exhaled sharply and calmed herself down. "You can always reject, but that wouldn't be good for you."

Peter walked to the side of the bed and gave Gwen one final kiss before heading out. "I want to make my girl happy." He kissed her cheek and jumped to their window, before leaping outside without any kind of warning. He carried his backpack on his shoulders.

"Be careful out there…"

Gwen got off the bed and wore one of Peter's shirts which were rather big for her, but it was enough. She loved to wear some of his clothes, not only were they very comfortable but she also wanted to make him happy whenever he got to see her with his clothes.

Suddenly, his phone rang in the kitchen and conquered Gwen's attention as she changed. She then headed towards the kitchen and moved his phone next to her ear.

"Hi." She placed her weight on a single hip as Ren stood next to her bare feet.

"Good afternoon… is this Peter Benjamin Parker?" The female voice asked.

"No, it's his girlfriend, he's… out for the moment. Gwen replied rather awkwardly.

"I'm from Ryker's Island and one of the prisoners is requesting for his presence."

"And who would this person be… may I ask?"

"Curt Connors."

Gwen deadpanned. What would the man who murdered her father possibly want with her Peter now? She didn't want to see Curt in their lives anytime soon, even if he was out of his mind during the incident, she wasn't ready to meet him again.

The caller continued, "Could you tell him about Connors when possible?"

Gwen cleared her throat. "Y-Yeah… okay, I will."

"Thank you, have a nice day." The woman turned down the call, leaving Gwen thinking about the situation she was put in.

It's been years since she last heard anything about Connors. A million thoughts were igniting on her mind, and none of them were any good.

New York

I feel… stronger, more… powerful. It's like I could carry a whole building on my shoulders.

Spider-Man gazed at his reflection in the building. He held his webline tightly and stood upside down in it. He touched the big white spider across his chest that also reached for his back. The suit was a lot tighter than before, it felt skin deep.

He also felt like he had nothing to fear as if he was invincible. More power, more confidence, that was what he was currently feeling. It's as if he now had everything he needed to keep his enemies away from the people he loved for good. He wanted to release the adrenaline that pumped hard on his veins, his hands were tense and firm.

Okay, this is… cool, some time with it wouldn't hurt. I guess… black's the new red and blue. He thought, finding a reason to keep the suit.

Spider-Man's sense triggered as he heard the high-speed truck going rampant back at the streets. He released his grip from the webline and fell towards the ground just to shoot another biocable as he swung towards the area.

The driver had lost control of the truck. It was throwing cars to the sidewalk. It was about to make the pedestrians crossing the street one with the ground.

Spider-Man landed in front of the pedestrians and gave his shoulder to the truck as the front of the vehicle was completely destroyed by the pressure he inflicted against it. It barely scratched him.

The pedestrians thanked him. Once the driver regained his conciscouhes and looked at the front end of his truck, he questioned, "... couldn't you help with any other way instead of destroying my truck?!"

Spider-Man stared at the driver and shot a biocable to the buildings so that he could get off ground level. He was back on track towards Gwen's favorite restaurant.

He eventually landed on the restaurant's rooftop and began to take the suit off his body, but he first noticed that his web-shooters cartridges, which were buried below the suit's new material, were completely run dry, but he could still fire webs if he wished to.

How…? This is incredible.

Spider-Man removed his web-shooters from the suit and aimed his right hand up, firing a black biocable that was attached to a very distant building. His webs were always strong, but they didn't even reach that far as they did now.

"Well, I guess I won't need it anymore."

He stocked the device on the backpack and continued to remove the rest of his new suit. He landed in the alley beside the restaurant and went to pick up their lunch.

One hour later...

Peter arrived at the balcony of his apartment, carefully to not stir much of the food inside his backpack. He opened the door and stepped inside the living room, before heading towards the kitchen and putting the box over the countertop.

Gwen wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"Gwen?"

Peter called as he removed his purplish Spider-Man mask.

"I'm coming!" Gwen replied from the bathroom

After a few minutes, Gwen finally joined him in the living room. She wore his shirt over her slim frame, it barely reached her thigh.

He unpacked their food and questioned, "Is everything okay?"

"Y-Yeah… nothing to worry about." She smiled, reassuringly.

"Okeydokey," Peter replied, not convinced. He eyed her current style of clothing and smiled playfully. "You look very nice."

"Thank you." She approached him and wrapped an arm around his neck, keeping herself close to him. She gave a tiny peck on his lip. "Is it still warm?"

Peter returned the kiss. "I believe so."

"Then let's eat, because I'm dead hungry." Gwen sat on the stool as Peter followed her closely.

"You do seem pretty hungry all the time." He joined her, still wearing the suit minus the gloves and mask.

"You know me, I'm eating all the time." Gwen unpacked the rest of the food and served them on each other's plates. "By the way... there was this officer from Ryker's looking for you."

"Ryker's? What do they want?" He moved a meatball to his mouth.

"I believe Connors wants to talk with you."

"Connors?" Peter said, surprised. "That's… a little strange." He raised an eyebrow and took another bite of the larger meatball.

"I… I don't think you should see him."

"I know, Gwen." He placed his hand over hers and caressed the delicate skin with his thumb. "But what if… it's important? He's part of my… past, I guess, and I think my past is always on the brink of contacting me once again, you know?"

"You..." She sighed. "You're right… just be careful around him when you go in there."

Peter nodded and changed the subject. "I took some new pictures, the Bugle will freak out when they see the new suit."

"Jameson should at least pay you a good deal over the exclusives."

"He will, because I'm not selling these new ones for cheap." Peter hid his real motives regarding why he would insist on bigger payments. "I'm not putting up with his nonsense anymore."

"And you're right. " She noticed his different behavior, a little more aggressive, which was something rare to happen when they were alone at home

"We did nothing today." He smiled and affirmed softly.

"I had lots of fun, though." Gwen flirted, taking a bite of her meatball.

"I guess we did." He chuckled.

"Are you planning something for the rest of this Saturday?" Gwen asked.

"Oh, you know, I was just looking forward to spending the rest of the day snuggling with my beautiful girlfriend."

"Sounds like a very good plan." She smiled, happily.

A/N: This one was mostly fluff and setting up things for the next chapter but I hope you guys enjoyed it. I will not detail much of those more " intimate " scenes because some people feel uncomfortable when reading that, and the story is T-rated. For those who don't enjoy it, don't worry about it. If anything, please PM me.

Suggestions are always welcome.

15/03/2021: Some quality of life improvements such as grammar, pacing, and dialogues. The scene with Peter trying on his new suit was expanded with the addition of the small truck sequence. Shortened a bit some scenes with Gwen and Peter, I felt like I have originally overdone it. Overall, the chapter is now improved further.
