I woke up in the blackness, falling, and Daedalus's son Icarus, who fell and died because he flew too close to the sun (long story) in the sea near Samos, I know, that is not exactly a "joyful and happy" comparison.
How long had I been falling? I thought, then I remembered that I had Tyson's watch, which could expand in a shield, but I guess they hadn't taken it. Maybe they thought it was a normal watch.
I checked the time.
Somehow, we have only been falling for about 10 minutes, assuming, you know, the watch is not broken.
I looked around for Annabeth, and saw her, a few feet away from me and I flew towards her,
"Annabeth!" I whispered in her ear.
She looked at me, strands of flew in her face, she looked shell-shocked, like her nightmares had just come true, which I suppose, they had.
"How long have we been falling," She said, holding on to me desperately.
"10 minutes,"
Suddenly she looked down and her eyes widened in surprise, pointing down,
"Water!" She shouted, and my gaze dropped down to where she was pointing.
Below us, the hole opened up into space like a colosseum, with zombies on the side, watching us, and cheering, "DEATH, DEATH, DEATH"
In the arena, there was a mini troy scene, with a sea on one side, and a sandy beach on the other, about a 100 ft in from where the water meets the sand, was a tiny version of Troy.
I concentrated on the water to obey me, and a vertical column of water rose out of the sea.
When we hit the water, I willed the ocean to lower use down, on to a trireme that floated aimlessly in the sea.
The boat wobbled them we landed, a sure sign that it's not stable at all, probably leaking too.
I looked around: In the seats, where the emperor usually sits, is the same Vrykolakas we saw outside. He caught my I and grinned evilly, he said something to a bodyguard by him and the bodyguard left.
A loud voice boomed over us, "Welcome!" and the crowd went wild, cheering like crazy.
"Today, on Troy's side, we have," he looked closer and frowned, "Marrow Sucker, Skull Eater, and Joe Bob will kill Percy!"
"Uh, Percy, how do they know your name?"
My blood turned cold.
"Oh no," I mumbled, " they're the same Laistrygonians we faced Meriwether… Expect Joe Bob changed his name."
The color drained out of Annabeth's face. I must have missed what he said after he introduced the Laistrygonians because the crowd began screaming,
Three, I realized what was happening, and drew my sword.
Two, I saw the Laistrygonians pick up boulders the size of trucks.
One, I willed the water the rise around me forming huge giant fists.
Fight! Then all Hades broke loose.
