My giant fist sailed across the waves, punching huge boulders out of the air.
The stones that were not deflected splashed around us, creating surges of water that rocked the ship, one even blew the masts off.
When the barraged of stones finally stopped, I concentrated and the fists disappeared, and the ship moved forward with amazing speed, the oars rowing as they have had too much caffeine and sugar. Laistrygonians prepared for another volley.
"Come on," I muttered, making the trireme go even faster, steering toward the shore. The Laistrygonians raised the boulders.
Just when I thought I made it, the water exploded around me, almost capsizing the boat. One of the boulders crashed into the foredeck, putting and fat hole the font and breaking some of the oars, breaking off the bronze ram. Another hit where the trierarch's chair was was, straining and flooding the ship.
After a few more close moments, the trireme touched the shore and the boulders stopped.
"Let's go, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth was already getting off the ship, and I followed.
I felt something to my right, where a forest with large palm trees.
"Annabeth, I think we should go this way," I called to her,
She looked at me, "Why?"
"I can feel… something," I answered,
"Great, weird feeling always leads us to a surprise."
I grinned, "isn't it always a surprise?"
As we ventured deeper into the thicket, my senses got stronger.
Suddenly, I noticed movement above us, like something was jumping through the trees, I pulled out of my sword.
"What is it," Annabeth whispered,
As it got closer, I realized it was a monkey, it turned around and cocked its head, staring right at me. Then it waved its hand like was trying to guide me to somewhere and scampered away.
"We have to follow it!" I told Annabeth,
"Follow what?"
"That monkey, up there!" I pointed as I started running, "Come on, we don't want to lose it!"
We sprinted for about a quarter of a mile, in the circular area in the middle of the woods. In the middle, on a stone altar, is a ballpoint pen.
"Riptide!" I cried, running toward my favorite magic weapon.
"Percy, wait!" Annabeth shouted in alarm, but it was too late.
The second I grabbed my sword, 3 Laistrygonians stepped out of the shadows of the trees.
"We have been waiting, for eons in Tartarus, now, my brothers, REVENGE!"
