I really need to pray to Tyche when I get back to camp. That is if I get back to camp.
In one not-smooth-at-all motion, I ran and picked up the golden shield, but instead of it being big and clumsy, it felt light in my hands.
I turned around, facing the now cheering crowd, who were going wild, throwing flowers on to the sandy ground.
"Welcome, again, my friends," Hector said, his resounding voice boomed over the speakers,
I gritted my teeth, "You." I said bitterly,
Somehow, he heard me, "Yes!" He said cheerfully, "Me!"
"And now, you are going to die for trying to steal that shield." He said while still being cheerful,
"Hey! That rhymes!" He began to laugh, and the people around him also fake laughed.
"He's crazy," I muttered,
"Not crazy, I just want you died," Then he began laughing again as if killing us was the funniest thing ever.
Suddenly, doors opened from the side of the arena and two huge, mean-looking animals stepped out into the open.
"Ooooh, I love this part," then he joyfully, "Let the killing begin!"
The one facing me was a naked beautiful woman, with a scaly tail instead of legs, but I was focusing mainly on her face, dimly aware of a giant crab behind me, fighting Annabeth.
The woman's face was hard to describe, she was kind of like Aphrodite, her face morphing into something more entrancing each second.
"Perseus…" The woman whispered. She was in arm's length now, her voice as inviting as her looks.
"Percy...stay...her…"I could hear Annabeth shouting something to me, but it sounded blurred and far away.
The woman wrapped her arms around me, her body pressed against my chest,
"Soon, you will be MINE!"
Abruptly, I was knocked to the side, a clear, piercing voice rang in my ear,
"WAKE UP, SEAWEED BRAIN!" and I grunted, shaking my head, I stood up.
I saw Annabeth in the distance, riding on top of the crab, trying to grab its eyes.
But then I notice a snake tail to the side, and shrill pain came shooting up my thigh, I turned around and held the shield up, hold my sword, my thigh still paralyzed.
The snake women were no longer charming.
Fangs sprong up in her mouth, venom dripping down and sizzling the ground. She had grown lang, wicked claws, which were obsidian black. Her face was fixed in a permanent snarl.
"I liked you, Percy Jackson, but you leave me no choice," she licked her lips and lunged straight at me.
