Early in the morning...
Two armed and masked male figures walked inside of the empty room within the apartment they were in. Each wore a goblin and pumpkin mask and a black suit. They also carried their bags around their shoulders. One of them broke the window with his gun and could now have a clear path to the bank's rooftop. That way, they could fire a straight rope to its rooftop and form a line where they could slide through.
"Don't mess this up," The thug wearing a pumpkin mask warned. "Quentin wants us to deploy the gas through the vents before they arrive in the van. The gas will keep everything safe for us."
"Understood." His partner replied.
With a rope gun, they fired a rigid rope towards the rooftop and locked their suit's hooks on it. They eventually landed safely at the bank's rooftop and started to unzip their bags right away, retrieving the small and sealed cans to unload them over the bank ventilation shafts.
"Let's do our part, and get out of here."
Gwen ended the phone call and placed her phone back on the ground beside the couch they were taking a nap on. She couldn't believe what her mother had just told her. There was chaos taking place outside in the city. She looked up to the ceiling and thought about what she should do.
Peter was sleeping peacefully on the couch and snuggled with her as well. She wanted him to have some time for himself, but on the other side, he's probably the only one who could stop what was going on out there.
Gwen turned on Peter's arms and stood face to face with him. She gently placed a finger on his lower lip to carefully wake him up, but he naturally just leaned forward.
"Peter?" Gwen called, softly. He didn't reply. "Hey, handsome."
"Hmm...?" He mumbled in his sleep, before bringing Gwen even closer to him.
"You must get up." Gwen cupped his cheek after lying next to him.
"... I don't. "
"I'm serious, though. You really should."
"No, you aren't," He hugged her tight. "... you just want me to massage your legs."
Gwen sighed. "Peter, I never told you this... but I'm pregnant!" She added, "Twin boys!"
"What?!" Peter immediately sat straight up on the couch. "... I mean, what?!"
Their sexual life was a very active one, but Peter couldn't remember them being reckless very often. He was puzzled.
Gwen laughed. "... no," She continued, "Well, at least I don't think I am." She pulled the covers. off them.
"Oh my god..." Peter dropped his back against the couch again. "... don't ever do this again, unless if it's the truth."
"Who knows, I could be pregnant." She teased further, "You have been chasing after me quite a lot recently so..."
He focused on her deep green eyes. "You're going to be the end of me… seriously, don't joke about this."
"Heh," She gave him a tiny peck on the lips. "I woke you up for a reason. There's this bank being robbed. Mom told me that there's this… gas keeping the police away from the building. It seems to be toxic."
Peter got fired up. "Really?"
"Yeah… maybe you should see what you can do?"
He caressed her shoulder. "Are you going to be okay?"
"Of course." Gwen nodded.
Peter quickly kissed her lips and rose from the couch. He walked towards their bedroom and headed straight for the wardrobe. He opened it and spotted his newest black suit hanging. He wore the suit down his body and only left his mouth exposed for a moment.
"Be careful. " Gwen had her shoulder against the frame of their bedroom's door. She crossed her arms.
Peter approached her and planted a kiss on her lips. They parted. "I'll be back in a moment."
Gwen smiled. "I love you." She pulled his mask down his mouth. "Now go save the day."
Spider-Man nodded and turned on his feet. He ran for the window and quickly leaped into the air outside the apartment. Gwen sighed heavily and eventually went back to the living room.
The sun was almost gone. Spider-Man let go of the biocable and safely landed on a rooftop where he could see the entirety of the area around the bank. Police cars were mostly set in front of the building with cops taking cover while others aimed their guns at the many windows and doors in the bank. He could also spot a couple of barracks where officers were busy planning the infiltration.
Spider-Man leaped off the edge of the building he had been standing on and then landed close to one of the barracks where the infiltration team was discussing their next move. The officers immediately turned on their shoulders once they heard Spider-Man's arrival.
"Spider-Man." The squad leader broke the silence.
"What's the situation?" He questioned.
The officer groaned in discontentment. " The place is full of civilians and armed threats. They are using some sort of advanced assault rifles and gas masks. It seems that they just got into the vault."
Spider-Man asked, "What caused the first explosion?"
"We found traces of a timed bomb in the gas tubes." He added, "We're searching for more."
Spider-Man turned on his shoulder to leave them but the officer moved his hand to Spider-Man's shoulder, stopping him from going anywhere. "You are not going there. We are gonna handle this."
Spider-Man looked down to the hand still on his shoulder. The officer took that as a sign and took it away. "You folks?" The man in front of him watched his reflection through the curvy lenses of Spider-Man's mask. "Like you handled the Lizard? Give me a break."
The squad leader was about to protest but Spider-Man quickly pushed the officer away from him as the latter stumbled on the ground. Spider-Man jumped and swung towards the bank.
"Son of b-" The squad leader rose from the ground and signaled his team, "We're going in, now!"
Twenty Minutes Later...
Spider-Man dropped himself from the ceiling and calmly landed on the ground. His figure was entirely overwhelmed by the greenish gas that filled the main hall. He began walking and checked on his surroundings. There was nothing but destroyed tables in the reception area. He eventually found some people that were passed out on the floor. He then overheard a scream that had him quickly on his feet as he looked for the sources. Footsteps were then heard as well. They were getting closer as the seconds went by.
Then there were no more sounds. Instead, two arms appeared from behind him and wrapped themselves around his neck. Someone else now grabbed his arms and others, his legs. He was trapped. His attackers were people that were seemingly affected by the gas.
"Kill the Spider- Demon!" One of the attackers stated. They were most likely hallucinating.
"No! I'm trying to help…" Spider-Man felt a deep bite on his neck. He gasped in pain. "Get off me!" The group began pulling off his mask. His mouth was almost exposed. "No!"
Spider-Man then punched the one holding his left arm and later proceed to bash the back of his head against the civilian who was holding him by his neck, causing him to fall to the ground. Two men appeared in the room and then ran at the same time towards him, but Spider-Man quickly jumped on his position and pressed their heads against each other, stunning them.
He began gathering his breath and moved his hand against the bite in his neck. It was bleeding slightly.
"That's something new." Quentin appeared from the dense gas wearing his power armor." Look that… Spider-Man fighting unharmful civilians." He clapped hands.
Spider-Man closed his hand as he felt his anger fill his veins. "Quentin Beck… I have been looking for you."
"You know me?" He walked in circles around Spider-Man. "By the way, you look good in black."
"Good… this will be the last thing you'll ever see. You're going to tell me everything about Fiers."
"Why would I know this… Fiers?"
He knew he couldn't mention Connors, otherwise, his family could get in trouble. "I just know. My patience isn't limitless."
"I'm afraid I have nothing to give you, Spider-Man." Quentin continued, "... I'm just-"
Quentin was interrupted as Spider-Man quickly buried his fist and arm inside the latter's helmet.
Spider-Man was surprised. "What in the f…? An android?!"
"S-see y-yooouuu next t-time" Fake Quentin fell on the ground.
Spider-Man said to himself, "... they're escaping."
A loud and contained explosion replaced the doors of the main entrance as the SWAT team stormed inside the building. They had their guns aimed at every corner on sight. They eventually aimed down the barrels of their guns at Spider-Man's figure.
"Put your hands behind your neck! That's your only warning!" The officer ordered as new explosions took place all over the building.
Spider-Man took a single step towards them. "Are you guys out of your minds?"
One of the guns went off. Spider-Man felt a strong bump against his shoulders. He looked down at the wound and then at the officer who had fired his gun. Spider-Man was about to confront them when someone's radio went off as well.
"Attention, an unknown chopper has landed at the rooftop, move upstairs and stop them from escaping."
The rest of the cops now aimed their guns at Spider-Man's right foot but before one could try to injure him further, his spider-sense triggered and he immediately evaded the incoming shot by jumping onto the ceiling and disappearing.
Spider-Man kicked open the door that led to the rooftop and saw the already loaded helicopter that was about to leave. Almost everyone was inside. Quentin could be seen sitting on the edge of the chopper.
Spider-Man spoke, "Game over, guys!"
Toomes was one of the personnel that hadn't reached the helicopter. A bag of money was on his shoulder. "Wait for me!"
Spider-Man quickly fired a biocable at Toome's feet and had him fall onto the ground. Spider-Man kept pulling him closer with the line.
"No!" Toomes retrieved a pistol from his hip and aimed the weapon at Spider-Man who quickly smashed it with his feet, breaking both gun and hand. Spider-Man then ran past Toomes and jumped from the edge of the building. He reached the metal bar in the helicopter and was dragged away in the air.
"Quentin help me!" Toomes screamed as he watched the helicopter fly away with Spider-Man holding himself against it with one hand. The SWAT team emerged from the entrance of the rooftop and surrounded Toomes.
The entire city then blacked out. Everyone was left in total darkness. It also made the helicopter disappear easily in the sky.
Quentin approached the edge of the helicopter. He carried a handgun in his hand. He aimed at Spider-Man. "I don't suppose you can fly too, right?" He continued, "Shall we discover?"
Spider-Man let his hand go from the bar as Quentin fired the gun. The bullet missed its target head but scratched Spider-Man's arm. He began falling back towards the city. There were no buildings close. His descent gained more velocity with which second that went by.
This is going to suck badly…
"Ouch! Watch the arm now."
"Stay on your boxers," Gwen demanded as she entered the bathroom to grab a med-kit while Peter sat on the bed. He rested his head on a pillow.
"Do you want to see me naked?"
"I already have seen you naked." Gwen finally sat on the bed and beside him. She opened the and analyzed his chest. It was covered with burns and cuts. It could have been worse if not for the improved suit. "You are being reckless"
She cleaned his wounds with a soaked towel.
"Sorry," Peter gently moved a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear. "I do try to be careful."
"Like always, right?"
"You don't need to get mad at me." He rested a hand on her waist.
"I'm not mad at you," Gwen moved the damp towel down his abdomen. "I know you have to confront them… I just worry about your health, that's it."
He nodded. "I couldn't stop them though."
"You will stop them some other day," She started to put some bandages across his chest. "Why did you storm inside that quick?"
"Well, that... SWAT leader was one cocky idiot," Peter added, "I mean... if it wasn't for me and your dad, Connors would have deployed that serum. They are clueless."
She noticed how aggressive he had sounded in a split of an eye. "I see.."
Peter changed the subject, "Well… are you pregnant?" He leaned closer and buried his face on Gwen's neck, brushing his cheek against her smooth skin.
"I was just messing with you." She smiled. "Why?"
"You said there was a chance." Peter slipped a hand underneath Gwen's shirt and caressed the soft skin of her back.
She planted a kiss on his shoulder. "Believe me, we're not having a baby."
"We can always try harder, you know?" He started to kiss Gwen's neck and moved to the spot behind her ear. "What do you think?"
"I think you hit your head pretty hard."
"C'mon… imagine a house full of our minions," Peter moved his lips to her cheek.
"Even if we tried to… you would probably fall asleep at your current state." Gwen tried to finish the bandages but Peter wasn't helping her much.
"I can handle it." Peter slowly tried to lift Gwen's shirt but she gently pushed him back to the pillow.
"I don't think you can, bugboy. Let me finish this, ok?" Gwen proceeded to clean the cuts on his face. "Why don't you rest for a bit?"
Peter sighed and dropped his head back to the pillow. He quickly closed his eyes.
"You dork." Gwen smiled. It was fun having him talk about babies. The time for that would arrive when they were ready for such responsibility.
The next morning...
Peter groaned in pain as he slowly opened his eyes. He felt a pleasurable weight on his chest and wrapped around his strong arms. Gwen had her head resting against his neck. Ren was also sleeping but on her pillow and top of her head.
He looked up to the window, the sun was already shining. He thought about his adventure from the night. He couldn't fail again.
"Peter..." Gwen lazily stretched on his arms.
"Good morning." Peter leaned down and kissed her softly on the lips.
"Are you feeling better?" She finally opened her eyes;
"Yep, thanks to my healing… and you, of course." His back still screamed in pain, but that was something he had already gotten used to, and that was being in pain.
"So… are you still wanting a baby?" She laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"A baby?" Peter replied, confused. He barely remembered what happened after he got home. He was extremely tired back then. "You… do you want a baby?"
"You wanted to try for one last night."
His eyes widened. "Oh? I… I don't remember that. That's… weird."
"Yep, you did hit your head somewhere really hard then." Gwen ran her right hand against his toned chest before stopping on the back of his now messy hair.
"I don't think we are ready for that yet," Peter slipped a hand underneath Gwen's shorts and rested it on her thigh. "There's still a lot to do. We are barely managing here."
"I know, and I agree," Gwen smiled. "Everything in its own time."
Peter nodded.
She ordered, "You aren't going to put that suit anytime soon, you hear me?"
"But…"
She gently pinched his ear. "You need to fully recover now. I forbid you of making an effort."
"So… if I wanted to make up with you, I would not be allowed, right?"
"Well, I guess there are some exceptions…"
Ravencroft
"Surely you would rather join us, Toomes," Fiers questioned. He walked around the table Toomes was sitting next to.
"Trust me, I'm done with that."
"Don't you want to see your old pal, Quentin?"
"What are you talking about?"
"He's also in it." Fiers added, "... maybe you two can talk it out?"
Toomes inhaled deeply. "Why are you even here? What do you want of me?"
"You've met him, Spider-Man." He added, "... and you have nothing to lose anymore. We can give you a new purpose."
Toomes silenced. He was deep under his thoughts.
Fiers questioned, "Can you tell me… what's your favorite type of animal?"
"I don't know… right now, maybe a vulture."
"And why is that?"
"... because they eat the flesh from those laid next to their toes."
"Then we might strike a deal after all."
