Stop complaining, you know I love to leave a cliffhanger.
Ok, back to the story.
I doughed. I mean, what else is there to do when an ugly naked snake woman lunges at you with her fangs fully extended and dripping poison.
Her fangs nearly ripped my arm off but thank Poosidon, my reflexes were quick.
I used all my strength and banged my shield against her head. She almost collapsed by managing to steady herself.
She spat venom, but it just hissed when it hit my shield, "Stupid shield…" I heard her mutter.
I quickly sprinted at her and tried to stab her with Riptide, but it just bounced off her scaly tail.
"It's no use, boy, come and embrace me."
I knew she was using magic again but for some reason, it was still hard to keep my head straight.
I dropped my shield.
"Yes…" Her voice sounded amused as she got close to me again.
"Come…"
Her breath smelled of venom,
"Ki-"
I drew all my strength and stabbed her in the chest.
With a high pitched screech, she dissolved into dust.
I realized that Annabeth was still fighting the crab. I turned around to see how she was doing, but she was a step before.
She grasped its left eye and slashed it, and the crab disintegrated into the sand.
The crowd cheered wildly, all kinds of stuff came flying down from the bleachers, I am pretty sure I saw Medea's Sunscreen 5000.
"Hahahaha," Hector laughed like a maniac, "nice job! I have some interest-"
" .Fast." I growled and made sure everyone heard it. The crowd settled down.
"What do you have to say, little pawn, do you want to be sacrificed now?" Hector said, "Well, I would hate to end this show now, but if our heroes want…"
But before I could say anything, he replied, "You do?" He genuinely looked surprised.
"Ok them," He clapped twice, and the Laistrygonians emerged out of passages from the side.
This time, there was no competition, they came over, two of them holding a long, nastily curved blade, like a scimitar.
When I tried to stab them, Riptide just bunched off their thick armor.
They took Riptide and Achilles shield and tied our hands behind our backs and held up their sword.
"The Earth mother requires the blood of two young demi-gods to wake her from her slumber. Now, we shall grant her wish!"
The Laistrygonians readied their sword, and I glanced at Annabeth, she looks like she was about to puke, but gave me a slight smile.
"Good fighting with you, Seaweed Brain," She said,
I smiled, "Ditto," and closed my eyes, in my minds, Poseidon spoke, concentrate, my son, it is not your destiny to die…
My nerve hardened into steel, Annabeth and I are not going to get sacrificed to wake… whoever Earth Mother is. We are getting out alive.
I concentrated on happy memories, the first time Annabeth kissed me in Mount St. Helens, Mrs. O'Leary licking my face when we got dumped in Canoe Lake…
The arena began to rumble, pieces of rocks breaking off and tumbling down, squishing Vrykolakas left and right.
"What… What is the meaning of this?!" Hector ran around in circles inside his emperor area.
The whole place began cracking apart, fissures ripping up the stones everywhere, Vrykolakas screaming like they were about to die.
The roped split apart, but the Laistrygonians were to busy running away to care, trying not to die.
Which they are going to, I thought.
I let Annabeth free, gritting my teeth, I hugged her tight.
And with one last thought, the colosseum collapsed from the pressure of 160-foot tall waves with my arms around Annabeth.
