Chapter 20

After his week in Cuba with his mother, Rafael Barba has made some choices. It's now been 3 weeks since his life was threatened. Oh how he wished that he could have seen the look on Olivia Benson's face when she found out that it was David sorting the mess of the 2 cases. The men who attacked him got prison time thanks to Diaz. Diaz got a major amount of time due to the deal and most importantly the victims got justice.

As he sits at his desk in his office a knock is heard and Rita Calhoun, a friend and also a defence attorney comes into his office. She shuts the door behind her and goes to him. "We need to talk about your girlfriend."

That makes him put down his coffee. "Why?" He asks. "Is she okay?"

"Yes. She is. Because i haven't ripped her brain out of her head yet." She says.

"Rita... what are you talking about?"

"This. Rafael. I'm talking about this." She says slamming a piece of paper on her desk. Not just a piece of paper. Its a photo.

"When was this taken?"

"Last night. Outside of a restaurant. Can I go rip her head off her shoulders now?"

"No. I'm going to go and talk to her."

"Rafael. Olivia Benson is cheating on you. Actually I'm going to rephrase that. She is cheating on you with the man who kissed me whilst we were drunk at that party almost 12 years ago. I know we aren't together anymore but... I still care."

"I know you do. But right now Olivia Benson doesnt know that you are my ex... Haden hasn't told her yet."

"Wait... you know they have been seeing each other behind your back."

"Not exatly." Rafael says.

Rafael fills Rita in on what was happening before the whole Diaz situation.

"Sorry. I'm going to say this. She is a bitch."

"I'm giving her an ultimatum. Me or him."

"Raf... is that wise?"

"Yes. I am going to leave SVU. If Haden is back I'm going. I can't be dealing with him again. Rita why did you get the photo?"

She goes around to his side of the desk. "You are my best friend. I know we are exs but I still care about you Rafael." She says as she runs her hand down his arm.

"Rita..."

"I know. Payback like this isn't your style." She says softly as she moves her hand to his as she continues to talk "but if you ever change your mind." She moves her hand to his tie and undoes it slightly. "Call me." She whispers as she leans into him as she gets off the table. As she leaves the office she turns to him "don't let her walk over you." She opens the door "I won't do anything but i am a call away."
