Chapter1- Goodbyes
Eva watched spotted Nicholas stood by a pile of crates smoking as he waited for his wife. His wife, she had tried to fight her feelings for the handsome spainish officer after finding out that his wide was alive, but they had both eventually given in and now knowing that they were going to be reunited made her happy for them but at the same time left her feeling broken. She still hadn't told Carolina what had happend between them about the Barbara De Braganza about those two nights the two of them had had. She was about to make her way over to him when a young woman about the same as her made her way over to him. "Nicholas" the woman called. Upon seeing her, she watched as Nicholas dropped the cigarette he had been holding and embraced her. He had embraced her like that only mintues ago and shared a kiss probally their last. She gave him a small smile when he saw her watching over his wife's shoulder and he returned it. Waving goodbye she slid into the car next to her sister who have her a small but sad smile. "Don't worry Eva you'll see him again one day" she said.
"I know Carol but it's going to be so different now he's back with his wife" Eva replied as Fernando slid into the front seat.
"Ready ladies?" he asked them. They grinned and nodded, it was a new start, hopefully there would be no more adventure at least not one on land.
...
Nicholas stood by some of the crates that were piled on the docks a lit cigarette held between his fingers as he inhaled the smoke. He knew she was there watching but he could bear to meet her gaze if he did it would be more unbearable. The two nights that they had shared had been wonderfull. She had intrigued him from the begining of the journey he gave a tiny smile as he thought about he had slapped his hands away when they had danced. "Nicholas" he looked up half hoping it had been Eva but instead met the gaze of his wife Chantel. He swallowed and dropped the ciggerette he was holding. He pulled her into a hug and thought about how just mintues before he had been holding Eva in a similar embrace and thatlast kiss they had shared. He caught her gaze from over his wife's shoulder and returned the smile she gave him before she slipped into the car with her sister.
