Chapter 3- He's Away

Eva sat in the publisher's office two months after Nicholas had visited she had a visable bump now and it made her thrilled knowing that there was a baby growing inside her yet sad knowing that the father didn't know she hadn't had the courage to face him after the doctor's visit.

"Miss Villuneuvea, are you alright?" her publisher asked.

"Yes I am thank you, sorry what was it you said" she replied.

"That we will be happy to publish you book it was a truly wonderful read. I would also like to offer you my congratulations on the baby how far along are you."

"Thank you sir, I'm about five months, the father is travelling he works with a shipping company" she told him knowing that this would be the next question. She had noticed all the looks she had been getting since she had started to show.

"Well then he is one very lucky man miss we are looking forward to working on your book with you" the publisher said.

"And I with you, Sir" shaking hands Eva stood up and left the publishing house. He's away the words echoed through her mind it was a partial truth one in which she had become acustomed to telling people since her bump had started to show. The lady at the clothes shop when she had to buy new one. She sighed and walked back to the small home she had bought it wasn't fair to Carol and Fernando to stay with them but also with a baby on the way it was even less so despite her sister's protests.

Nicolas how was she going to face him again on the next voyage, of course she was going to go by then the baby would be born and atleast a few months old old enough to be aboard a ship anyway. The book would be published but there was also the issuse of tell the father and of course his wife. She shook her head Nicolas was back with his wife and was happy she had heard him ask for her when he had visited but had refused to go and see him. Why had she done that she should have faced him head on. She felt a couple of tears slipdown her cheeks and sat herself down on the nearest bench sobbing she missed him so much and she needed him now more than ever.
