A week.

That's how long it took for Brian to explode, and when he finally did, he went off on his boyfriend.

"Can't you see it, Eric?! She's all ove you!" Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to do this in the middle of the school hallway, but Brian had had enough of it and couldn't wait another second to tell Eric.

"She just asked for help, Brian, I don't understand why you're making such a big deal out of it." Unlike the brunet's raised voice, Eric's was flat and emotionless, which only happened on a few occasions. Unfortunately, this was one of them.

"A love song! A freaking love song, Eric!"

"I still don't see the problem here, might helping me out?" For once the black-white haired boy wasn't lying, he really couldn't find another reason why the new girl wanted to spend more time with him after rehearsal.

"Well, newsflash, I'm your boyfriend! I'm the only one you should be singing love song with or to, not some girl that, weirdly, shares the same name with you. Am I going to find an invitation to your wedding soon?! Eric and Erica are finally getting married, oh what a happy couple!" People were staring now, some with disgust, others with confusion as to why the couple was arguing. Eric was the only one to notice though, but when he tried to calm his boyfriend down and get rid of all the unwanted attention, it backfired.

"No! No, I am not calming down, Eric. I will calm down when you tell that poor little girl that's head over heels with you that you're mine though, but that won't happen for a while, now will it? Because secretly, you're head over heels with her too." Brian knew he was overreacting in the back of his mind, but the logical part of his brain shut down the second he saw Eric smiling at her and accepting her offer. He couldn't believe that boy was so naive when everybody around him could clearly see her true reasons. She wanted him for herself, and knew Eric was too kindhearted to decline her need for help immediately, it was one of the reasons Brian loved him, but right now in this very moment, Brian wished Eric wasn't like that.

"Brian, listen. You're the only one for me, and you know that. She means nothing, okay?" Eric's fingers went to intertwine with Brian's, but he moved away before they could and started walking the other way.

"I need to get to class, I don't want to listen to your bullshit anyway." His honey colored eyes were cast down on the ground when he moved past Eric, he didn't have it in him to look up at his boyfriend and face the heart he just broke. As he passed by, Eric could only feel Brian leaving him with the shatters of something that once was his heart.

--

"Hey, Eric! Wait up!" Erica's voice filled the hallways as she ran to catch up with the boy. "Are we still on for that duet? I heard you were having some trouble with your boyfriend."

"Yeah, of course, don't worry about it." Eric tried to control his feelings and sound perfectly fine, not like he just cried his eyes out on the boy's bathroom. Which he totally did. "Look, I gotta get to class, meet me in the auditorium at 4?"

"4 works fine, I'll see you there!" Her voice was dripping from sweetness, and if Eric was really honest, it made him want to puke. He could finally somewhat see what his boyfriend was on about, but there was no sense of giving in now.

As the day passed by, Eric was staring to regret his decision more and more. Brian, being as stubborn as he was, continued to ignore him and didn't utter a word, not even when Eric seated beside him and tried to talk to him in the one class they shared. Soon, the last bell rang and it was time for the hour the black-white haired boy had been dreading all day.

"So I was thinking, can we try 'Hold me now' by Johnny Logan?" Erica moved closer to Eric, as to prove a point, but unfortunately for her, every time she took a step closer, he took one backwards.

"No." It was their song, and Brian would never forgive him if he sang it with someone else, not that Eric wanted to though. He could never imagine singing those lyrics to some other boy or girl.

"Why not?" Another step forward which made the boy feel very uncomfortable, so once again, he took a step back.

"It's kinda my boyfriend's and my song, we sing it together all the time." A smile formed on his face as he thought about all those times, there was no way she would be taking away all the lovely memories he created with the brunet.

"Well, I don't see him around now, it'd be our little secret." Erica send a wink his way, but unbeknownst to her, it was what made Eric drop the papers he was holding out of fear. Thinking he couldn't control his actions because of her flirting, she moved to pick them up at the same time Eric did, leaving them in a very awkward position.

"Uhm." Eric couldn't comprehend any words as her breathing washed over his face. Unlike Brian though, she didn't smell like peppermint and just that tiny bit of cologne he swears he doesn't use. In that moment Eric knew he never wanted to smell anything else. "This stops now. I have a boyfriend, who I love very much and am very happy with. To simply put it, I'm taken and probably to gay to ever like you."

"But you're bisexual, which means you also like girls. He doesn't have to know about this." She tried to seduce him one more time, apparently she wasn't a person to give it up easy. It could be a good personality trait another time, but it wasn't working in poor Eric's favor at the moment.

"I love him." Before she could stand up and hold him close to her forever, the boy scrambled up his papers and made a run for it, praying to whatever god would listen to him that she wouldn't follow him.

Eric ran through the deserted hallways, spotting his favorite brunet when he sprinted around the corner, and went straight for him.

"I'm so sorry, Brian. I'm so sorry, she was out for me and I should have listened to you because, once again, you were absolutely right while I was with my head up in the clouds. I told her to back off and that I love you when she proposed to sing 'Hold me now', which is our song. She said it could be our secret and-." Eric was rambling but couldn't seem to stop himself on his own, expressing his feeling of guilt before he could let it swallow him up and kill him. Luckily for him, his boyfriend was ready to catch him with open arms and stop his desperate attempts of apologizing.

"Eric, sweetheart, stop." But, Eric didn't hit the brakes just yet, as he had a lot more to say.

"I swear to god, Brian, she was about to kiss me but I stood up and ran away, straight to you and I'm-." Suddenly, a pair of lips was upon Eric's, and, finally, he was silenced. It took a moment for him to realize who they belonged to, but as soon as he recognized them, he relaxed and let himself caress the moment before it was over.

Sooner enough than both boys wanted, Brian moved away and spoke up, but laid a finger on Eric's lips as he saw them about to move again. "Shush, you've apologized already, now it's my turn. I was out of line too, I overreacted and let myself be carried away with my anger and jealousy. Now don't say it was hot to get me all worked up and jealous, because I was a full on drama queen, maybe even worse than Rachel Berry." The black-white haired boy shook his head as chuckles escaped from his lips. They both recognized that they were wrong, but also could make it up with one another before things got out of hand.

"I mean, it kinda was hot." Eric smirked, and Brian was glad to see his boyfriend happy again. The brunet preferred seeing him with a smile on his face much rather than that frown that seemed to stick when he was angry.

"Shut up, you dork." Brian intertwined their fingers and pulled the other boy behind him while he made a bee-line for the entrance doors.

"But I'm your dork." The smile never left his face as they moved through the school, but something still felt kinda off to the boy.

"That you are, and I wouldn't have you any other way. I love you." Just those three simple but meaningful words were missing, and just like that, Eric felt completed again.

"I love you too."
